I was really happy with my overall results. She explains what she’s going to do in depth, what to expect afterwards and it was just how I wanted it. When I told her to add a bit more on the ends she did it how I described. I felt like she really cared how I wanted it to look not what she thought it should look like. I’ve recommended her to others.Service: Make-up services

So, this is the first time I've ever given someone a review like this or even any review what so ever. As a small business owner myself I just really try to never go back to the place if I'm not happy. I had just moved to chico and didn't know anyone else to do electrolysis and just wanted to support a small business. I've gone to this woman 4 times! There is so much to write about her and how she treated me its not even funny. This last time I practically left in tears. She is extremely judgemental, rude and just not professional in my opinion and I have been in customer service for about 10 years before I started my own business. She saw that I was heavily tattooed, she spoke poorly of me thinking I was someone else until she realized I had seen her before, she lied and said that I stood her up when I arrived 10 mins late after having a 1 month old baby. Yes I was late but I paid her full price and tipped her because I'm just like that. The first 2 times I thought she was having a bad day and I don't get easily offended so I just brushed it off. She spoke terrible about her competition, she brought up religion and she talks about politics. I'm pretty sure she was just trying to rile me up. I am heavily tattooed and she probably thought I was liberal. Little did she know I could care less about either party. Also as a business owner I was appalled that someone would discuss any of these things. She made comments about me not being able to afford my services and to basically find somewhere else to go. This is literally the first review I've ever left for someone this negative in my life because it was that bad. And honestly shes not that great. I found someone AMAZING to replace her who has the best customer service skills, clean, fun and doesn't bring up stupid crap that is irrelevant to why I am there. I'll never go to this woman again and quite frankly I'm shocked she even has customers much less 5 stars. Must be friends coming to the rescue because last year I literally saw she had 1 star and I wasn't surprised. If you do go to her be prepared to be very uncomfortable. Also I am very religious and support anyone with beliefs but you don't treat people like this. Its disgusting. She will never get a dime from me. Do yourself a favor and take your money to someone who will value your hard working dollars.

Amazing, delightful, personable, caring, professional and a perfectionist. I can't say enough about Colleen Pembroke's services and who she is. I just finished my touch up eyeliner appointment. I'm confident after the initial work that I will be just as pleased after the normal swelling goes down. I just had her put in some brown on top of the beautiful black subtle lines from a month ago. I've had so many compliments and now 2 of my friends will soon have her do their eyeliner. Colleen is the best!

When I was asking around for the best person to see for permanent makeup, I was directed to Colleen. I wanted to have eyeliner done but was extremely nervous. Colleen was incredible! Her gentle nature and soft touch along with her ability to put me at ease made the perfect experience. She was very patient with me and I left with exactly what I went there for. Beautiful, even permanent eye liner. I have been back to her several times throughout the last 12 years. I wouldn't think of going to anyone else!

I have had my eyebrows and eyeliner done by Colleen. She gives you a free initial consult and does a skin test to ensure that you don't have a reaction to the ink (done by many tattooist as well). When I first met Colleen, she was very warm and welcoming. She explained clearly was to expect and most importantly aftercare so that I would get the results I wanted. She is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She offers a one-time follow-up to make any corrections/additions that you feel you need. My eyeliner and eyebrows turned out better than expected! After the swelling (which happens on everyone) went down I was overjoyed with the results. I did go back for my follow-up to have a few areas darkened - which she happily did as part of the whole process. I have referred two family members to Colleen and they have both been pleased with their results. Just remember - it takes a while for the final result to appear and you must do the aftercare correctly to obtain great results. I would wholeheartedly refer any friends or relatives to her - because she's just AWESOME!

Permanent Makeup ~ Colleen is the Bomb! Let's talk about perfection, perfect lines, pride and knowledge. My story- I had permanent eyeliner years ago when I was in my early 30's. The first time was just a small half line on my bottoms. Then about 5 years later I wanted to touch them up and ended up having a bad experience for sure. It was my fault and I trusted a random person I knew nothing about. (No internet or yelp at that time). She recommended that I add a blue color to my liner as it would enhance my already blue eyes. Well she did the lines thicker than I ever wore for sure . Of coarse at first ok and I had to live with my mistake. But then as time went on the blue started to fade by getting brighter which was not my objective at all!! So about 8 years ago I started looking around for recommendations on any one that could fix or try and hide the blue with darker liner- of coarse being skeptical the whole time. I heard about Colleen and talked and viewed 3 women's eyes that Colleen had done and all 3 looked awesome!!! Colleen was able to correct most of the blue issues and then I had her do my upper lids. I am so happy with her professional and experienced recommendations. She takes her time and ensures that you are comfortable the whole time. I just went to her for a touch up (yes touch ups are necessary as color fades a bit) I wanted that crisp look again. Side note- She also had done my mothers eyebrows and she was so pleased with them she couldn't believe how great they were. Permanent Eyeliner is definitely the way to go if you wear eyeliner everyday! I love love my eyes and how it has made my morning routine fast and simple. NO REGRETS

ETA- I am lowering my review to 1 star as it has come to my attention that others' similar experiences to mine are "not recommended." I've also had several people reach out in DMs that didn't write a review to thank me for sharing my experience because they got the same treatment or worse. There's no excuse. Potential customers should be wary of such behavior and treatment of customers. Colleen seems like (ETA: she tries to be) a good person. She runs her business out of her home but with a separate entrance around back for the business part. She is good at electrolysis, which is what I used to get from her, but she also does permanent cosmetics (which I never tried). Ultimately I stopped using her services partially because it was a lot of money but mostly because I personally just felt uncomfortable so many times that it wasn't worth it for me to continue to use her services. So, details: I got electrolysis from her for about a year and a half. She did a good job. She offered a free initial consultation where she explained the process and did a small patch of hair. I got a good initial impression. She was conscientious about pain and made the process as comfortable (physically) as possible. She had the best price in town as well. She was great with organization and making and keeping appointments. She accepts cards, which is very convenient. A couple things though. She plays at a low volume K-Love, the Christian music station, the whole time. This makes me very uncomfortable as not only am I not religious at all, but I find the music quality to be absolutely atrocious. I mean, gospel I can handle. That's got some soul. But Christian rock? Blech. Secondly, and perhaps the most off-putting, was the amount of times she scolded me as her customer. Here's a few examples for you. Once, I ended up being about 10-15 minutes early. So I went to go wait in the backyard lobby area until my appointment time. But it was locked. I was confused, unsure if I got the appointment wrong. I called, no answer. So I went and rang the doorbell because I thought I heard her inside and figured I'd just check with her really quick. If I made a mistake, I was planning on leaving. I made to leave, but right as I was getting in my car, she opened up the back gate (the entrance). She totally freaked out at me. Like over and over again mentioned how she could lose her business license if people come to her front door, compared it to going to my dentist's home if the office was closed (like that could even compare to someone running a business out of their home who was supposed to be open during that time??), and just harped on and on about it several times over the course of the appointment. After profusely apologizing, explaining myself, and reassuring her that I wouldn't go to her front door again, I finally just told her, "Colleen. I get it. I apologized. What more would you like me to say? It won't happen again." I had already explained my confusion to her several times! I was really turned off by that. Who does that to a customer?? She also scolded me one time because I accidentally walked in to the office with mud on my shoes. She *never* had me take shoes off and I just didn't notice at all. Completely my bad. When she noticed as we were ending the appointment (politely the first time) I apologized profusely. I felt awful that I had made a mess and been so inconsiderate as to not have checked. After the fourth or fifth time of her mentioning how next time I need to take my shoes off, how I should leave them at the door, how she was going to have to sweep now, thank god she had a little time to sweep before her next client, yada yada yada... Well I stopped feeling so bad after that. No amount of explaining to her how bad I felt and apologizing could make her stop scalding me for it. It was a frickin' accident, lady. Would you like me to sweep for you? Those kind of things just come with the territory of
