Hotel Diamond is a cute hotel with a boutique feel located in the heart of town, close to campus, with excellent walkability to shoppes and a great steak restaurant. It is a great updated classic historic hotel. Guests report excellent service and very friendly bar and hotel staff. The onsite restaurant and grill area receive recommendations, with a delightful breakfast that was more than expected, though it lacked vegan options. The establishment offers exceptional quality time and design elements. However, experiences with the rooms can vary significantly. Some guests received complimentary upgrades to nicer rooms when their original room was unavailable. Others found their room to be the smallest they had experienced at the hotel, with furniture described as janky, majorly knicked up, and in poor repair, including issues with cabinet doors and knobs. Pillows were sometimes too thick for comfort. The hotel charges for early or late checkout and for massages at prices described as insane for the area, akin to a big city, which some feel is not welcoming for Chico. The bar, operated by separate owners, is considered very pricy for Chico, with cocktails costing fifteen dollars each, though the hotel sometimes provides vouchers.
Cute hotel with boutique feel. Excellent service. Breakfast was delightful and more than I expected. It didn't have vegan options though.

Great updated classic historic hotel! They upgraded my room type when the original room was unavailable, for no charge.Walkability: Heart of town. Walk to shoppes and great steak restaurant.Close to campus too!
