I took my car to the shop for an intake manifold issue. They found other codes related to the timing and replaced all the timing parts. Initially, my car was in the shop for about 2 weeks. When I got it back, the same issues reappeared after just two days, and they were worse. During this time, I checked the oil and fluids and found that the oil was overfilled and leaking.
I returned the car to the shop where they worked on it for another week or so. They charged me for more parts, but those didn't solve the problem. I then went to the Volkswagen dealership to check the part numbers. They confirmed that the wrong timing chain had been installed. Despite assurances from the shop that the timing chain was correct, the car continued to have similar problems. I returned the car to the shop at least four to five times only having it less than a day and under 30 mi before the problem reappeared.
Later, one of my fuel injectors went bad, possibly due to the incorrect timing. They charged me $1,000 to replace it, even though it typically costs about $400 for my specific Volkswagen model. When I picked up my car after the injector replacement, it had less than a gallon of gas.
It has taken them months without fully fixing my car, and I have spent about $5,000 on repairs through them. Frustrated, I contacted the Bureau of Automotive Repair, who also questioned the timing chain issue. Today, I picked up my car from the shop again after the fuel injector replacement. And it will most likely be back at the shop in a couple days due to their negligence.

Can't say enough great things about these guys. I take my Tacoma and my wife's RAV4 here for any and everything. They are friendly, communicative, and there is no one else I would trust to work on our vehicles.

These guys did my smog and they were amazing! I made an appointment and I was so surprised that my car was ready in 7 minutes. The mechanic also checked my breaks, my tires, and driving belt just to make sure my car was good to go (and nothing was sold to me in that regard). I highly recommend them.
UPDATE: I have been back to Chico Auto Tech for a few things since my first experience with them (smog) and they continue to be professional and amazing. This last time my AC stopped working on a hot week and they were able to get me in with a very short notice and fixed my car in no time. Thanks again> You have earned my business

I have been going to Chico Auto Tech for years. They are thorough, fair priced, they have sone quality work on every vehicle I have taken to them. They’re professional and everyone is super nice. I wouldn’t go any where else for my auto repair.

They truly care about their work and their responsibility to their customers. I’ve worked in sales, retail, and healthcare for nearly 20 years. If there’s one thing I know, it’s how to spot genuine care vs. someone trying to make a quick buck. I know every time I go to Chico Auto Tech I’m going to get the best quality work at a fair price.
Multiple times I’ve brought my family’s cars in for emergency repair, and the notify me of some maintenance that needs to be done. One time it was the shocks that were virtually nonexistent. This last time our brake pads were getting low.
If they notice something dangerous they’re going to let me know for the safety of me and my family. If I need to wait and come back later, there’s no pressure, they’re happy to provide a quote so I can come back when I’m ready.

Best mechanics in town, I recommend highly. I would normally just go to whatever mechanic was available or close to my residence, once I started going to Chico Auto Tech I never went anywhere else. They have the knowledge and skill to keep your vehicle up and running, keep it up guys!!!

My husband and I bring our three cars here for routine maintenance and the occasional repairs. Both him and I like the transparency Ryan and Ben give us in regards to what preventative maintenance needs to be addressed, and they do so in a way that does not make us feel needlessly pressured.
We've been bringing our cars here for years, and I feel the most comfortable with them when compared to other mechanics in town who have been rude, dishonest, and questionable.

Where do I start? 2018 Audi. Have had multiple accidents and they’ve been there to help me each and every time. Whether I’m spending a couple hundred or thousand I always get the same treatment. Respect and courtesy. There has not been a time when I haven’t gotten my car back exactly how it should’ve been returned. Great shop, I’ll never go to another one. It’s just that simple.
