This place is unorganized and extremely confusing for everyone involved. Just like the last comment says, staff blame patients instead of looking at the facts. I would not recommend going here. It's a total joke. And you better watch your back because the patients are just as bad. Also, they don't have a procedure for when you go and get your dose. It always changes and they get upset when you dont understand what's going on. And if your pregnant, forget about it. The stress that comes with going here will most likely harm your baby. Be smart, find a different clinic, or you will regret it.

Most unorganized place as far as clinics go... They care only about their bottom line, $$$$$.... Be ready to take the blame for their errors or live by their double standards since they won't take any responsibility for their own errors.... Prepare to be confined in a crowded room close to closing time or standing outside in sub freezing temperatures for 2 hours on weekends due to one dosing nurse on staff... Lord forbid you have to courtesy dose out of town if your traveling since they feel that your responsible for finding a clinic since most counselors are either lazy or can care less about patients well being...

Sarah B. I 100% agree with your statement that it does take a certain type of special person to work at a facility such as a recovery treatment center . If they no longer work there then they must move on. I feel horrible when I myself see the good counselors leaving because I myself had many negative issues with inappropriate sexual behavior from a staff member at another treatment center NOT AEGIS. So once she was fired from Medmark for having her affair in her office with my now deceased husband who died this past May 2021 she went on to attempt to destroy another man"s life with his family at another facility "Fathers & Family. Many thanks to the Judge, she was fired from that job as well. I think AEGIS is the one & only out patient facility I recommend to people that are in need of help. This is not just a facility for the stereotypical addict either. Many people who were going to the pain clinics for years & yuntil the Laws were changed now have no other option but to go to these clinics. I've met & seen people that were going to die soon from Cancer & many other issues also. These treatment centers that Aegis has specifically (NOT places such as Medmark)are a Blessing to so many senior citizens, cancer patients & / or many other individual's who can't handle their pain. These Treatment Centers are not only for addicts!

I went here for a while before I (thank God) got arrested and actually got off everything. I can't imagine going through life having to continue ingesting this crap just to keep from getting sick, all because I was too scared of the pain and discomfort I knew would come from withdrawal. This place didn't serve any real purpose for me except drag out the time it took to get sober. Back then, however, fentanyl wasn't a problem and I suppose it saves lives now because of that. I'm forever grateful that I got arrested and put in prison and found a real way out-it was the end of a far worse sentence, that of being on perpetual probation-having to come in for doses, feeling like a zombie, not really Living at all.

Like most clinic's they abuse there authority and use methadone against there patients there worse than drug dealers.Prepare to be treated unfairly and punished for things you haven't even done and even punished for mistakes that the staff makes and will not take Responsibility or Accountability for. It's always the patients fault and patients never tell the truth and the staff never make mistakes and are never wrong at least in there eyes there very judgemental .

This is pretty much the worst experience people will get when receiving "treatment." Definitely a LAST RESORT to get off drugs. If you can stay on drugs to not withdrawal then you should do so instead of going to chico aegis . First off all the "therapy" they claim to offer is people with accents you wont understand, ...who also is extremely under educated and makes up rules as they go. Others include kids fresh out of college with 2 year degrees or less claiming they have lots of drug and therapy experience while still living at home with parents...to get you through your hard times. Then they quit after 1 year for bigger and better things because they're paid minimum wage. The manager, Michelle, is probably the rudest person you will meet. If anything inconveniences her that's in her job description will get your take homes taken away or kicked out of the program. Overall policy for take homes are a joke. Dont expect anything to go your way here. If you ha e a emergency, they dont care, if you have to leave town, they dont care, need to work oit of town or work related, they dont care...you can lose your job and they wont give a damn. Counselor's wont return your phone calls for requests, when they do it's too late or work they dont wanna do for you. The whole chico aegis is very lazy. Expect the very least, dont get your Hope's up, wear head phones when in the waiting line, expect therapy to do nothing, and know you can never leave chico for more then 24 hrs and you wont be disappointed. I wish I could give negative stars to sink this rating to nothing...but hey...you wont detox

I can't believe this place has 2.5 stars. I see that most of the comments are over 5 years old. Since the 2.5 stars seems to have stemmed from some past employees and no actual patients I would like to shed some light on what this place is all about. I currently sit on the PAAG group for this faculty. Most don't know what that is or what it entails. It's a group if sober individuals who's sole responsibility is to be an advocate for the patients Aegis serves. If you feel you are being treated unfairly, are having an issue with staff, need someone to talk to that IS NOT STAFF then please reach out to a PAAG representative at Aegis. There is a drop box we only have access to , you can reach out to me directly whatever it takes. This agency is about helping people live better lives through medication assisted treatment. You're not out there buying pills, looking for your next fix, stealing, prostituting, killing, you are surviving! You are getting counseling, group therapy and a safe environment in which to come. I have been at this facility since 2016. This place is not a place to feed junkies and all of the negative connotations Attached to this facility need to cease and desist. This place is honest, follows the rules, helps patients in need and is by far the best facility equipped to help this opioid crisis. I have to agree that staff have to deal with a lot from patients. It takes a very patient and kind person to stay here and be happy. It's not for everyone. I ask that if it isn't for you then you just move on and not post negative comments about a job that helps people.

Aegis Treatment Center has saved mine in my kid's life I was doing very very bad living on the street I now have a full time job part-time job a house a car my kids have everything they could ever ask for this place has absolutely saved my life of being a mommy but I do want to say the way the rummage sale happen this year was very disappointing tableware and being very mean pushy snatchy and it was just not nice to me I love this place and I will always be here but I think they should do a test or a practice run on something like this before they do it cuz it was a nightmare this year and I feel bad from Martha because she was just there by herself

This place saved my a** from death. I would have ended up in jail , prostitution, or dying alone in the streets. There are a few things that this clinic could improve on like more communication between staff and counselor's. Also, being able to take responsibility when counselors take sick days or call out of work because I dont think the patient should still be held accountable for making that day up because there is usually a reason for us making that specific appointment at that specific time. Other then that it's an awesome place and the staff is wonderful. Dan, travis, and Martha are amazing and I have seen them go past the duties and much past there pay grade to help there patients out. If you are struggling with addition to opiates and want to put in the work I suggest coming here.

I think Aegis is a great program for those who are committed to recovery and all aspect's that come with it. If you are ready to make that step, Aegis will help provide you with all of the tool's you need. But in the end it is up to you!! It may take some time to get it right, but the staff in chico (& @ all Aegis center's) will not just give up on you and will support you all the way!! They are truly life-savers!
