I went to this school in 2015-2016. I wasted two years going here. I learned nothing. my first grade/kindergarten teacher gave up on me because I had dyslexia. which this forced me to repeat a year of school. Thank you so much for the trauma and years of me thinking I can’t do it.

I cannot say enough about how much I love the school. Teachers teachers truly care about teaching your child to love learning and to love growing. Moreover, the school puts an emphasis on social and emotional growth above academic success, so if that is important to you, then this school is the right fit for you. The only thing lacking is on the academics side; they are adequate, but not outstanding. Overall, I cannot recommend this school enough. It's great!

We are wrapping up our fifth year at OCS, and continue to feel so grateful for this school even with the ups and downs that we've had over the years. As parents, we appreciate the amazing community of kind, committed staff and other families that we've met there. But much more important, both of our kids love going to school every day, which was not true *at all* when our son started kindergarten at our neighborhood school. We switched as soon as we had the chance, and witnessed first hand the difference that the OCS commitment to social and emotional wellness makes. And we are so grateful for the hard work and dedication the administration put into reopening after closing due to COVID. Our kids are ecstatic to be back, and so are we!

OCS is a very special place. The teachers are incredible, and really put their hearts and energy into each child, as an individual. The community is filled with caring, like-minded parents for the most part, and my child loooooves school. We have child-led assemblies, a meditation teacher, responsive classroom curriculum, hands-on learning and appreciation circles, in addition to the regular curriculum. My daughter gets to lead morning meetings when she wants, even with distance learning. If you are looking for a highly academic school, this is not for you. But as the parent of an advanced kid who has been at the school for 5 years, I still choose OCS to help her develop into the well-rounded, curious, empathetic kid she is becoming. The teacher-student ratio is also great, and we love how small the school is. One thing that isn't great is that they cut the budget a few years ago, and with it, the art teacher and many of the field trips. But we are a school with a lot of heart, and we have a very warm and child-centered environment. I would definitely recommend OCS!

My children have been at OCS for 7 years now and we could not feel luckier to have won the lottery for them to be there. It is truly a special place with a community feel. We love the small class sizes, incredible teachers and administration, and whole child philosophy. They utilize Responsive Classroom and it gives a cohesive approach to classroom management and building relationships. My children have been challenged to take ownership of their learning and are motivated to always do more. They love school and are sad to ever miss it. Throughout covid they have been thoughtful about their approach and have worked hard to make sure to meet the needs of the children and families in the best way possible.

This school sucks. They do nothing about racism or bullying. They often play favorites In bad situations. If you brought one of the office’s favorite students because they did something wrong, they would choose their side. It’s so annoying.

They had nine spaces available for a kindergarten class of 40. If one of your other children isn't already enrolled you're not getting in.

I go here and I hate it! I suffer every day in the middle School and they treat us like we can't do anything by ourselves! They patronize the kids and make us feel like terrible people. The office members don't care if your hurt or sick and hold grudges on people. It seems they don't know how tho hire teachers either. There policies are stupid and they consider stupid, shut up,hell, and idiot profanity! They get mad at you if your not "positive" all the time! The school food sucks and it seems everyone that works there is super uptight. They have creepy TA's that follow you everywhere on the yard and we have to share a school with the elementary school!
