Doesn't work well with people of color AT ALL...Smmfh a city I'll stay out of.. BIG COP cursed my family out while trying to help out. The cop was also eagered to reach for his gun for no reason Instead of talking calmly. Disrespectful people with badge's.. THESE STATIONS need mental test done HERE. PROTECT THE PPL

I called Detective Werner, who is working my case, a few months ago. He was supposed to call me with an update on my case, however he only started working on it as soon as I called him. During this conversation, he said that he would make a call to the other party before he filed my case with the DA. A little while after, I gave him a call to ask if he did so and if anything came of it. He had no idea which case I was talking about, which is excusable because I understand the workload, and spent about 10 minutes looking for my case before he called me back. When he did, he told me he had already filed my case with the DA. I told him I was aware that he was going to do so, but reinstated my question-- Did you call the other party? He continues to say that he had already filed the case and that he could no longer call him because of that. I knew that, however, I reinstated my question once again. At this point, he had nothing but excuses about his work load and otherwise. A simple "I'm sorry" would have sufficed, but he only went on to tell me about how the people I vote for make these laws and how we're defunding the police and how everyone is retiring. Mind you, I had not spoken a single word about politics of anything of that matter. He went on and on so I continued to interrupt him because I still was not getting a straight answer about why he did not do what he said he was going to do. He hung up on me. I called the station to file a complaint, and I spoke with Onher or Honor or something, and she only really defended him for having the workload that they do and that the defunding of the police is happening. When I was asked if there was anyone who tried to persuade me from not filing the complaint, I said her. So she had to transfer me to another guy, who only did the same thing.I just want to make it clear that these people expect me to have empathy for them and their workload, but they are-- and as for the complaint people, are defending-- someone who showed me zero empathy for telling me they were going to do something and then did not. Why was it so complicated to give me a straight answer ?

I just witnessed a dangerous situation involving a mentally unstable person threatening people with a wood stick in Artesia, and I was so nervous when the sheriff arrived because with everything happening lately you just don’t know what to expect but very pleased to see how the sheriff handled the situation by de escalating the situation and calling mental health workers to the scene. It could have gone so wrong In so many ways because the individual was very aggressive and offensive but the sheriff did an amazing job and he got the help he needed and everything ended peacefully.

Community safety division staff for over night parking and permits for parking are unfortunately are no help. I won't say all because there are at least two employees that are polite and helpful everyone else hates their job, won't lift a finger to work They go to work to make things seem impossible for people who simply need their help! I literally always have to go through the public safety mAnager Daryl evens to get anything accomplished. Sad to say that these people are getting paid for their presence in the office and when Daryl is around they pretend to caRe and pretend to work. I have to say good luck! They are so rude and disrespectful, gosh I hope when they need help karma comes for them 100fold! And I say this because it's all the time they behave this way it's in their character , so sad !!

Came out here last night for a community "scare free" haunted jail house. We came with just over an hour before it ended so we didn't get to do the haunted jail house thing since there were so many people in line and I really appreciated that one of the officers informed where the line cut off was to be able to go so that we weren't waiting for nothing. Aside from that, there was music, food, free games for the little ones to play! There were also a lot of vendors for the adults to shop around and they were also letting the kids 'trick or treat' at each vendor. There was also some swat police that were letting the kids play all over and inside their swat vehicle, and some of their swat gear for the kids to try on, as well as their police ATVs and a motorcycle to take pictures with friendly police! What I liked most was that with such a heavy police force present (given the fact that it WAS hosted at the police station) it felt SAFE!!! With all the craziness of this world with all these random shootings, and while I'm not the type to stay home and be a hermit with my family, I do always try to take into consideration the type of crowd and the busy-ness of it for my family and my safety. But I felt very safe coming out here with my son and hubby. So thank you so much to the CERRITOS PD for hosting this!!

Lol. Of course this station has 1.5 stars. So rude. I have seldom called this place ((for safety concerns in my city)) and each time the person in charge on the phone is SOOOO MEAN. Doesn't matter who it is, they ALWAYS act condescending, disrespectful, AND DOWNRIGHT rude. I'm sorry but Cerritos Sheriffs are the first ones there for pulling people over, anyone else know the infamous motor-cop guy with his speed gun (who does he get anyway? I don't see many street races here in Cerritos... I digress) but when it comes to safety they are NOWHERE to be seen, or when we reach out to them they act like bullies themselves. Ugh. PS. The situations I have called about have been things like unsafe construction on the road and things of this nature.

Came to the Station to help out a friend. Officer Kanouse was helpful and informative and put me at ease. He made the rest of the evening easy.

Whoever was on duty around 4:30 AM on May 9 on the phone seemed completely unconcerned with resolving public issues.
