“I drop off donated items here whenever I’m getting rid of clothing that I don’t wear, or can’t fit anymore. (Always stuff that is in good condition). They make it real easy to just pull up, drop, and go. They will provide you with a receipt if you need one, and will aid in the unloading too. Just a good place to take things to help others instead of just throwing them away.”

1649 Las Vegas St, Modesto“I have been apart of the salvation army for many many years. I love the salvation army and all that they do for the homeless and our youth. I met Captain Ray yesterday and looking forward to meeting his wife Captain Thelma. I am having a wedding renewal and we're doing our vows at the red shield salvation army. I really miss all of you from church and from work.”
“The store always has an interesting selection of furniture items and I'm a sucker for their book prices. It's also a good place for me to donate clothing and household items.”
“Redwoods helped me with so much came there with barley anything. I just had my son and right before my sons first birthday I was able to bring home my other son that was with my mom and dad. I'm so grateful for this place. They helped me get what I neededI even went to their grad house which helped me even more to become more independent & responsible. I was able to get into a place of my own too. I have my kids with me and I now work at redwoods as staff I've been working here 2years now. I'm grateful I get to help women and kids.”

1457 Mable Ave, Modesto“Great learning environment, clean, and caring teachers. Children are very engaged and love their school. Each month has a theme: planets, bugs and spring, etc. They have language, math, and art every day. They have a nice outdoor play area. They incorporate science and building character. My son in TK loves his STEM class which is after TK class, topics change every 2 months: lego robotics, music with Prodigies, solar engineering, UCMAS math, etc. Its been great exposure and enrichment to things that we cant provide at home. My son in the 3 year old class also loves his teacher, and upcomming teachers as they have an open floor plan and all teachers love all the kids. They truly enjoy what they do. My 3 yo has learned cutting with scissors and write letters very well.”
“I had the great honor of working with this company. Through MoCal Office Solutions. Unfortunately due to Adrian Heath, discrimination to this company. I was let go because I was against him getting a raise by his mother Mary Adrian, she did so to protect him. They illegally used my FMLA time off to have me fired for saying anything. Oh well another prejudice company wins again.”
“I've been volunteering here for nearly one year now and it never ceases to amaze me all that United Samaritans does for so many in need. I volunteer for their Senior Lunch Program. 5 days a week, Monday through Friday lunch is served to Senior Citizens. The location? At the Salvation Army located on Lander Avenue. When? 10am to 12 Noon. Wholesome hot and cold lunches are served and the menu is created by a Dietician. In order to qualify one must be a minimum of 60 years of age. Hot coffee, iced tea, water and milk are available for consumption and sometimes juice. Cost? FREE :) United Samaritan is located on S. Broadway right off of Lander Avenue here in Turlock. Here they offer for those in need the opportunity to launder ones clothing/cloth items, free clothing from donations, morning service of a beverage and baked goods, take a shower and lastly there are 2 food trucks which service the local towns around Turlock as well as Patterson, CA now too. There is access to a restroom for those in need such as the homeless. For all that they do they are quite organized and always polite. For those in need who have a pet, United Samaritans has dog and cat food for them. They take donations of food as well as clothing and more so before you throw out or donate elsewhere please consider donating to United Samaritans as they don't waste and are helping so many in need.”
“Didn't check out everything, but found some items I needed. I only give it four stars because I didn't have time to check out everything. But they have a good selection of everything. Prices are normal on big items and a lot of the little things are actually decently priced. Hope to go back some day I have enough time and check out everything.”

645 Charity Way, Modesto“\"Cook your own\" on Thursday nights are always fun at the Elks lodge. Meet friends, make some more, cook some chicken, steak, or salmon, have a cocktail at the bar there...Great sides were served for last night's dinner. Great time!”
“My favorite thrift store in the area. Their pricing is the best, hands-down. The people complaining about the service need to relax and work in retail for once in their life.”
“Have worked here for 2.5 years. Love helping the guys in anyway I can. Great co-workers. I feel like I'm contributing to the health of the men and our community.”

1241 McHenry Ave, Modesto“Variety of lots of books to choose from. A lot of toys and teddies also to find your little one, kinda pricey but sometimes will go down a bit. Melissa is the best kindest worker, she’s always so friendly and awesome.”
“They called back quickly, which suprized me because they closed the office over the holidays and new years. Great landlord info and specific strategies to deal with our issue. I hope I won't need them again, but won't hesitate if I need it!”
“I went here for the first time and loved my visit! great prices and nice stuff. I also want to show recognition to a worker whose name i believe is Albert. He was super helpful and his vibe is awesome! Definitely will recommend this place to friends and family and will be returning in the near future because of how welcoming he was!”

“Medic Alert "speaks" for me when I can't. I have severe allergies to multiple medications, sometimes we find out the hard way when I go into shock! Every time this has happened, medic alert's trained responders have been there to guide EMS. Thank you for always being my voice!”
“Coming from living in the East Bay where there are way more thrift stores. There are like 4 Hospice Thrifts and this location is by far the best 1! I can tell that They take more effort in testing electronics, because I've never took home a broken 1 that I bought from them. Cant say the same for other Hospices Thrifts. They also remind you about the return policy of electronics! Overall a good thrift stores that packs a lot in to a smaller space. More importantly, the employees and the customer service is top notch here!!! Way better here than any thrift store or business in the entire Valley!”
