I have experienced excellent service for several years and a short wait every time I visit this post office. It is a small town so they have limited hours but when they are open they consistently helpful and prompt.

Scheduled my passport renewal in Cayucos for the beautiful view, was blow away by the friendly and caring service. Shauna who took my photo was sweet and detail oriented. I'm sure the staff at any post office has to endure a lot of short tempered patrons that are impatient with the details, the Cayucos Post Office did a great job keeping up on a busy morning and having an eye for all the details! My only complaint is the link to the survey included on my digital receipt was broken (I tried it twice, on my phone and desktop) so they only way I could give feedback on my great experience was here.

We needed to get a passport for our infant daughter and was shocked to see that Cayucos offered the service. So much easier than dealing with SLO and the people are so nice! I wish I had caught the woman's name who helped us as she was so kind and fun. The fact that they had toys to give to babies just blew me away! Our daughter has been loving the rattler toy that they gifted her for 6 months now. We need to swing by and contribute to the toys and say thanks. If you live along the coast and need good service from USPS, this is the place to go!

For the first time ever, they left a delivery attempted slip, so I guess they're improving?

We needed to renew a passport and this little post office delivered in a big way. Sharwna who helped us was great. As soon as we walked in she knew we were the 10am appointment. She complimented us for being prepared with the paperwork: having documents and their copies ready. However, we forgot our checkbook and realized it after travelling half way to here from the Bay Area, but she hooked us up with a money order with a minimal fee (make sure you have a debit card or cash on hand). Apparently, it's the 21st century but the US Department of State still does not accept any form of electronic payment while the US Postal Service does. Need to have your photo taken for the passport? Done: $15 for 2. Need to entertain your little ones while getting paperwork done? They can peruse through a pirate treasure chest provided by Sharwna to find their loot. Attentive and friendly service with a smile? Yes and yes! You'll be walking out of there with a smile on your face, at least we were, after having such a pleasant experience. Highly recommend to anyone who need to get their passport done in person to take visit to this location. Bonus: The Brown Butter Cookie Company is nearby for a treat.

Dropped multiple packages here on June 2nd 2020. Nobody was at the front desk, no other customers in the lobby but I wanted to hand the packages to a person so I waited. A grumpy female employee eventually showed up and grabbed my packages, noticing that they were already labeled. She did not say a word, did not offer a receipt nor ask if I wanted one. I was kind of put off, but whatever it's covid time, maybe she just wanted to keep her distance, so I just left. 27 days later and neither of my recipients have received the packages I dropped off that day. I called to follow up (June 29) and the woman I spoke to just said that it was my responsibility to ask for a receipt and that she couldn't help me track anything down. Way to be accountable. Really nice customer service. No wonder USPS is in peril....

Slowest service ever. You better order your package to your house, because when it comes to 'one day shipping' they usually hold it an extra day just so they can stay on their phones and game. Prime users beware.

Middle aged woman with brown hair and glasses told us that they stopped accepting passport renewals. She looked at clock at said that they dont accept them after 2:15pm. It was 2:16pm, not upset about the fact that we were late, but more upset that she was smiling and was extremely relieved that she didnt want to help. We called beforehand and was told that it was okay to come in. Do not reccomend!!
