LOVED this place the moment we walked in. Food was so good, filling, and memorable. We ate breakfast here and both my spouse and I were pleased and we prefer to eat plenty of animal protein at our meals. It was very easy to get a robust amount in an omelette, easy to add additional eggs, and they were absolutely delicious. The fries were the best we’ve ever had, literally. Will visit again! This place is going on our favorites list.

To be fair, they were really busy BUT 3 at our table ordered cinnamon rolls and one ordered pancakes. They brought the Cinnamon rolls within 5 minutes. The pancakes and fruit platter ($15 for 4 orange slices, 3 small watermelon slices and 3 cantaloupe slices) took almost 1/2 hour to arrive so the rolls were cold (yes, we waited for the pancakes). The cinnamon rolls were dry and sugary...couldn't have been any worse. I won't go back for breakfast.

Sea shanty is always consistent. Nice variety of food always fresh. But the best part are their homemade desserts. From the Cookie monster to all the wonderful pies. This is the place in cayucos to go for dessert.

Pies were okay nothing special, but were expensive per slice. Almost $15.00 each slice.Parking: There’s about 8 parking spots, but still plenty of street parking.

We tried for 3 days to get the coconut cream pie, but no luck. Luckily all the other desserts are amazing, as is the food! Brian, our server, was a real sport about not having the pie when we gave him a hard time.

A must visit restaurant while in Morro Bay, very warm environment with lots of care put into the decorations and scenery. Great food and friendly service. There is outdoor seating with very warm space heaters. Parking is very spacious considering the area.Kid-friendliness: Perfectly decorated for kids!Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, on the patio

We waited 5 minutes to be sat down and when we finally got sat down, we waited another 10+ minutes to see a waiter/ress to take our order, but that failed to happen, although there was only one large table being served, the hostess was occupied talking to the table of say 7-9 people about random things. 1

Food is delicious, they serve the best clam chowder in the area. Generous portions. Friendly staff. Definitely we will definitely eat there again.

This place is always great! My favorite is the patty melt with tomatoes on the side so it doesn’t make the bread soggy. But I’ve had many things over the years and they were all good. Great outdoor patio so I can bring my dog too!

Cayucos has some nice homes and some not so nice homes. Some new and others that would be considered teardowns. That could be the Sea Shanty, a teardown, if not for the intended rustic charm of the place. They're a little pricey, but what coastal restaurant isn't. The burgers are fresh and that's okay with me. Their seafood is decent too. They have a decent amount of outside seating for the crowds and locals that dine there.
