I honestly would love to leave no stars. I WAS DISCRIMINATED AND EMBARRASSED. I’m a young adult trying to figure things out. I was being questioned and left crying after trying to deposit my money order twice! The next day I went to a different bank and they helped me right away no interrogations. The two older white women should not be discriminating people. Help young adults!

The team that works here is personal, friendly, and courteous. Can’t say anything bad about this branch! The customers can be a little bit impatient, but you can’t really help that.☺️

Friendly personal service. They actually know who I am when I find the need to do in person transactions. There is also a drive through ATM , which is very convenient for quick transactions. They offer all the technology for remote transactions. I am glad this is my bank and I will continue to do business with them.

I have always given 4-5 stars with the good/great experiences that i've had at various local businesses inside & outside of Yelp. This is an exception. Just a heads up - as some customers may be offended by what they hear and see. First, I have great respect for 'Bank of the West' - but two of the employees are poor in customer service - and especially one of the tellers of which has a position of assisting business accounts. She not only swears like a sailor - and literally with the 'f' word but, dresses poorly in appearance, has addressed me only by my last name (without a 'Mr.' & with a tone in her voice equivalent to a grade school teacher), outright very unprofessional as a representative of this establishment. Will not mention names - as they're aware of who they are. As a result, I make visits one/two times a month merely for the purpose of coin exchanging - and for the business checking with no fees. I conduct all of my other profitable business transactions at credit unions - of which their staff/locations are always properly dressed - and treat 'their customers' at a very impressive 'customer service' level. Obviously, this location is not recommended.

Parking limited. Customer service hit and miss. Ask me personal questions about my money. Eg. why do you need to take so much money out? FYI- none of your business. Just do your job. I pay my taxes and earn a honest living. You don’t need to know what I do.

I was looking to open another bank account at another bank location. I was debating on Bank of the West or Chase. I researched both websites to see what each had to offer. Obviously, decided-on Bank of the West. I've been with them for a couple of years. I mainly use this bank for bills/monthly expenses. So, I do a lot of transfers. There are times where I do have to go to the branch. It's been a hit or miss when I actually get to pay a visit. Sometimes, the ATM machines don't work, especially the drive thru ATM. The tellers are not as friendly as my main bank. There was a time when I had my husband go inside the bank for me, so that I can watch/nurse our newborn. Not too long, did I receive a phone call from him, telling me that he cannot make the withdrawal because his name was not on the savings account. I told him, no, it should be because we took care of that months ago. I had him FaceTime me. Unfortunately, I had to prepare myself and my newborn to go inside the branch and speak with their banker. I was very annoyed. Again, we don't go to the branch that often. Another incident, standing in line, teller becomes free, waiting for her to say, NEXT, or raise a hand- she did neither. I wasn't sure, if I should approach her window. She gave me an attitude because I did not approach her right away. Oh! And one other day, I approached a teller who was finished with a customer, only to be told, that I needed to wait to be called. Just recently, I had my husband go to the bank for me. My husband was extremely upset. He was waiting to be called, saw two tellers that were free, asked if he can go to either one. One teller, I believe her name was Jessica- responded, " You can go to either one, Jesus Christ, ASIANS!" My husband, chose her window. Told her that he wasn't sure who was available and didn't want to approach. He told me, every time he goes to this bank for me, he always has issues. I'm reconsidering doing any business here. It might work out for other folks.

Customer service wasteland Don't bother banking at this location unless you love spending 15-20 minutes to complete a transaction that takes 2 minutes. I went in today to cash a check and they said they wouldn't give me the full amount because they said I didn't have what they would consider enough money in my account. I tell them they have to cash my check regardless and they say, "we'll do it as a courtesy just this one time." Gtfoh One time I was going to buy a car and needed to pull out a decent amount of cash as a down payment and they told me I'd have to sign this form and that form and blah blah blah because, "if you take that much money out we may not have enough money to operate for the rest of the day," at 4pm when they close at 5pm. Total bs, cry me a river. There's no way a bank "doesn't have enough money to operate." Some of the less experienced workers will call over the manager who has no idea what I'm even there for and will go on to run their mouths trying to tell me about something that has absolutely nothing to do with what I walked in for. Next thing you know I'm playing mental gymnastics with the manager and the workers just so I can make a transfer from one account to another while the manager is talking to me about transactions from 2 months ago. Then I have to ask a series of questions just to understand what they're talking about and once I finally get the answer I ask them, "why didn't you just come out and say that then?" Then they get all quiet and look d**** Imagine going into subway for a sandwich and they're asking you what size and color shoe you like to wear and won't stop pressing you about it. Yeah, it's that bad. Oh yeah, and then there's the part where they talk to you as if you're stupid and don't understand anything. Pretty disrespectful for a company with which I literally put my life savings into their hands. I will no longer be banking here as everytime I do it's a complete and total nightmare. Please avoid this place, they just want as much of your money in their bank as possible and will do everything to keep you from getting your money whether by taking 2 days to process a check deposited to an atm or making every experience you have in branch horrendous.

I have been banking here for several years now. The staff and service is excellent. The lines are usually not too long and move reasonably fast. What I really like is that the staff is allowed to be themselves and not always use some kind of required scripted greeting. They are fun yet professional and always on point. Thank you for all the smooth transactions.

Waste of lots of time and compromises one's sanity, so we're warning family and friends to avoid this place like the plague. Have never been so appalled at the service standards and practices as we have experienced with Bank of the West/BNP Paribas. Came to learn that the fine print of their promotion required that we keep funds in their accounts for 2 additional months after thinking we had already met the terms of the 3-month promo - the clock starts when they say it starts, not when the account is funded! When we needed to make a withdrawal toward the end of the 3-month period, I spoke with 2 supervisors on the phone (at central customer service) who were not understanding of the situation, did not acknowledge that the promotion was a complete bait-and-switch, and who gave contradicting and incorrect advice resulting in the bank not honoring the promotion. Came to the CV branch in hopes of having the issue resolved and was met with a window teller who questioned our comfort with the purchase we needed to make (which seemed meddlesome) and a dismissive supervisor who said she was unaware of the promotion that was mailed to us because it was not a branch-specific promo - yet bore the same logo and name as the one on their building. She said we would need to bring in the mailer postcard (which was mailed months ago and had been recycled after account opening) to show them what I was talking about. Are there no notes being taken to record such transactions?? I simply pointed out the organizational disconnect, and she denied there being any disconnect or break in communication. It was such a perfect example of gaslighting that I had to talk it over with a few friends in the industry to understand that, no, it wasn't us - Bank of the West is just a hot, hot mess. To be fair to this branch, my issue is primarily with central customer service via phone. However it should be noted that both times I visited this branch in the past couple of months, a banker sitting in the center of the building was not wearing his mask properly (it was looped around his ears but the actual mask was below his chin, leaving his nose and mouth uncovered) while all other bankers and customers wore masks. The only employee who expressed empathy and showed human connection was Princess Asoy, who I was referred to after another visit to the branch. She was actually aware of the promotion and acknowledged that the promotion included fine print that could be misleading - at least validating why one could be confused about the promotion. She also reversed a monthly service charge that the bank pinned onto our account despite us maintaining the minimum balance. Thank you, Princess, for your help and making this bank worthy of at least the 1 star! We have emailed the bank via the online portal to ask for assistance with no follow up. As a final nail in the coffin, we learned they charge a fee to move funds to another bank unless we go to a branch in person and found out they close an hour earlier than other banks, limiting opportunity to handle things in person and avoid fees. We have wasted over 3 cumulative hours on the phone and at the branch with various central customer service reps and supervisors who just state that they don't have an appeals process, and there is nothing to do despite the fact that we followed their advising for how to maintain eligibility. Learned the lesson the hard way and are just cutting our losses - and our accounts here.

Good customer service, plain and simple. Always greeted with a positive attitude and both bankers and tellers know how to do their job. Due to covid, you might have to schedule an appointment to talk to a banker, but they can usually help you out the same day. Just a side tip, it might be a good idea to get another ATM like the chase across the street, but other than that, keep up the good work.
