FYI this place is closed and has been for a while. All there is left is the little mini Mart.

I was kinda skeptical to try out their breakfast.. my instinct was right. Menu and the price looked good. But I have to admit the food taste itself was not what I expected. First of I'm gonna say, the lady was very sweet and nice. I just think the oil in whatever she cooked our meat in needed to be changed. When I opened up my to go meal, all I smelled was the scent of old deep frying oil. The food itself looked good, but the taste was omitted.

It's a market, alright, but not the kind of market as it is commonly defined. What it is, really, is a one stop shop of some sort. The place is a bit cramped - there's a ton of clutter. Oddly enough it seemed organized despite all the mess. There's even a filing cabinet in the middle of the store - what market has that?! But anyway, I've never really been in a place that's remotely close to this. Taking into account what many Yelpers advised, I walked straight to the back because I was here for one thing only: BREAKFAST. There was only one person manning the kitchen. Put in an order of tapsilog and longsilog. I looked around and the only thing that made this place a market is a bunch of junk food and non-alcoholic drinks in the fridge. There's a guy manning the front handling lotto transactions. Behind him is someone behind the desk doing Western Union stuff. Behind him is another unmanned and unmarked desk, so I'm assuming that's for something else. (Yelpers mentioned travel and/or sending out balikbayan boxes to the homeland. With the way this whole place is set up, one or both is a good possibility.) Behind that is a small dining table for 6 (should one decide to dine in) And finally, the kitchen. I gotta say, it's a pretty popular spot. There was a line for both lotto and Western Union transactions. There were also a couple of people who came to pick up phoned-in food orders. It didn't take long before my order came through. Took it to-go. It wasn't too bad given each order was only $5/each, but both need work. The tapa could have stayed in the fryer a bit longer. It might have done wonders with its seasoning. I didn't get to taste the longanisa but was told it was alright. What I found odd, however, is one dish came with garlic fried rice and the other didn't. Did I mention they also cater? Under Mila's catering. So, yeah, interesting place. I'm definitely coming back to try the rest of their silogs.

This place literally is a market (I didn't say grocery though)! Filipino restaurant type food is located at the back end of the store; they have tables and chairs set up for dine in. Towards the middle part on one side there's a small office looking areas where they have a counter and a chair for booking flights or any other travel arrangements. On the other side, there is some sort of a shelf where they have different types of junk foods and chips (they also cater to the students from the nearby schools). Further towards the front of the store is another counter where you can send or receive money through Western Union, notary public, perhaps but those "balikbayan" boxes to send back to the Philippines or even play some lottery. This place is almost like a mini mall cramped into one small unit.

Keep walking towards inside the store and then you'll find this gem! Carson is a good place to find Filipino food. But this stands out among rest! The quality and taste of traditional Filipino dishes is nothing but exceptional! It's not your typical cafeteria style where food is served in a styrofoam. If you dine in, you get a well-presented, best tasting Filipino meal that is instagram-worthy to post! LOL! Not to mention, it's super affordable, too! I tried kare-kare. The sauce is decadent (it's really one of a kind and I can't describe it!) The meat is falling off the bones. The veggies are crunchy and not overcooked. With garnishes to top it off, it was definitely a fancy plate! Hats off to the chef! Tips: Cash Only Seating only for 6 people, but you can have it to go! They cater and deliver :)

FLIES!! Yes you read right. I was looking for Filipino food in the area and since this place had so many great reviews I decided to try it. I had to point out to the staff that their food had flies. The staff seemed not to care. I ordered items that were covered hoping that flies hadn't been on that food. It was bland and poor quality. I don't know who likes this place but I wouldn't recommend it. If you do bring cash because they don't accept credit cards.
