I paid to have my taxes done in 2021 before I moved out of the country. They have been doing my taxes for several years. I just found out by the franchise tax board that my taxes were never filed. I have tried calling a number of times and left messages but do not get a response. Really disappointing.
Update: I finally did get ahold of Capital Tax. The owner was not well and was not available to process my taxes. Fortunately he is better and my 2021 taxes are now being processed. Thank you for the response and for getting my taxes done.

This guy refused to answer my repeated phone calls after I paid him to complete my taxes. I guess I should have NOT paid him before they were finished. I DO NOT RECOMMEND to anyone that is expecting professional service.

not a good experience !! they misspelled my name on my taxes and had to file an amended return. witch took months, i never got a copy of my amended taxes. an now im getting letter from the irs that they make mistakes and my refund was reduced.

Feb 2020: Met with Mark who agreed to work with me on 2020 tax planning and get back to me after 4/15/20 (after the busy tax time period had passed)May 2020: no telephone call from Mark. No return calls after I called thrice.July 2020: I walked in to their office to request that the documents he had of my tax paperwork be returned to me. The office staff searched was unable to find the documents (and Mark was not in the office). They agreed to mail the documents to me.August 2020: No documents received. No further phone calls.Summary: I wonder how this company expects to bring in business with total lack of customer service.

We've worked with Mark at Capital Tax for several years. He has always provided great tax service. But, when we call or email and leave messages with the front dest or with Mark directly, we never hear back from them. Most years, they've contacted us to set up consultations to file taxes in time, but not this year. When we realized we hadn't heard from them, we called and sent emails; no response. I hope they're okay, but it's frustrating to get no response at all and to be left hanging. I guess we need a new tax preparer. Any recommendations?

We have been going to Mark Johanson for around 10 years now -- and I really should have written this much soon--but better late than never. We don't want a huge refund but would rather break even and Mark is very helpful in this. With the recent "tax changes" had an unpleasant surprise this year in that had to pay more than expected and Mark was very helping in advising what adjustments to make so that this doesn't happen again.
