“Big Brand Tire & Service purchased Newton Brothers in the summer of 2025. Different sales software and a different sign on the front of the business, but most everything else is the same, with most of the staff having stayed plus some new faces.
Curren up front was welcoming and helpful and was able to get my vehicle on jacks within just a few minutes for a set of fairly priced tires.
I had a several options of tires, so selection was good, even the top tier prices were lower than I'd seen posted for nearby locations, including the popular big box option nearby.

Guest WiFi was really slow, but with solid 5g access on this stretch of Del Monterey, my phone's data was able to power my hotspot and I worked while I waited.
Service time was right at an hour. A steady stream of customers were all promptly and politely served. Both the front and service bay staff worked well together. I was impressed with the business and will return”
“I recently (10/25) moved to the Monterey Area. I've been a long-term Mazda owner, so learning there was not a local Mazda dealer, I was on the hunt for a Mazda-focused mechanic. After some inquires of other Mazda owners and reading online reviews, Hartzel Automotive kept popping up as the place to go. So, I made an appointment. Barry and staff were very friendly, checked the car in at the scheduled time and did the oil change, tire rotation and investigated some other items that I mentioned. This was all done efficiently; I was in and out in about an hour.”
“My 2004 LS430’s radiator broke down on the freeway on my drive back home to SF from Monterey on a Saturday morning which was a really stressful experience. These guys were the only ones around and available to service my car on a whim. I didnt catch his name but the guy at the front desk was very polite and helpful. Him and his team were quick to follow up with a clear diagnosis and estimate. My car was ready for pick up in three hours. The price was right and service was on point. They came through clutch! God bless everyone involved with this shop! if youre in the area, I highly recommend paying them a visit. Superb service, 5/5 stars.”
“I was refused service at a neighboring business because my older model car needed 30 minutes to test and I arrived 20 minutes before closing. I was perfunctorily told to come back the next day in time to test my car. I sat in their lot calling around to find another mechanic and found one just down the street. They were closing at 5:00 but told me to come in. I was there in a few minutes, there was another customer before me and they were able to start testing at 5:00. The mechanic was accommodating and friendly and they have won my business.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Calderon Brothers Tires. On my way to a wedding, I got a flat tire on the highway and was incredibly stressed out. By chance, I called this shop, and from the first phone call they told me they could help.
My car is a Golf R, which usually makes tire issues a huge hassle. But they made it happen. They reinstalled my tire, noticed that my rim was cracked, welded it on the spot, and had me back on the road in less than an hour. Absolutely incredible.
Beyond the fast and skilled service, they were so patient and kind with me while I was clearly stressed. That kind of kindness means so much in a tough moment. And the price was great, too.

“I had the best experience at Sullivan Tires just a few days ago. I needed a couple of new tires. Louis Flores was my sales rep. He’s really a great guy, very friendly and knowledgeable. It was exceptionally great that he could call UBER for me so I didn’t have to go through that hassle. “Just had car towed from BMW dealership in Seaside to these guys for a second opinion. BMW ran their diagnostic check for $300 and tons of issues showed up. They sent me a bill that was absurd! Never really inspected the car to determine if the sensors going off were really an issue or not. Will never go back there again! C&C gave the correct diagnosis and are outstanding!!! Was about to buy a new car but now get to keep mine. Found my new shop though as a result of this so it was worth the headache! Highly recommend C&C??”

“I have my brakes changed from a different shop then over time I felt like my brakes were getting squishy.
I called the Masters one week ahead of time and they were able to get me in on a Monday and able to do it in an inspection and noted my brakes were okay but my brake fluid needed to get flushed.
These gentlemen help me and help adjust my brakes along with getting a proper flush. I trust this shop and they've taken care of me when I needed my Honda to helped”

They took his car right away, fixed it for a very reasonable price. If you own a Volvo you know repairs can be quite pricey. The day after the car went into the shop my son was back on the road. Thanks to everyone involved from the young lady that took the call to the mechanic who fixed the car. Great job and a great place to get your Volvo repaired.”
