This is one of the best antique shops I have ever been in. It has unique items, not just large furniture pieces and paintings that no one wants anymore. It has unique items like the 1958 Standford Cal game promo or the many iron(?) toys from the 1930's. Then, there are the guitars and other musical instruments. Chip plays the Mandolin and is well-known for this. It is a fun store to peruse, and you just might find a gem in it! It is not a large store but has its own personality. My new husband and I stopped in to Wittpenn's a few weeks ago on our honeymoon and my hubby spied a beautiful painting he was on the fence about buying. We ended up going home without it, but I called Chip a few weeks later and he remembered talking to us... I bought the painting over the phone and Chip shipped it to our home in LA. So easy! Chip was lovely and communicative, very fair with the price and a hoot to correspond with! Great place!

We have bought several things over the last few years from Chip. A guitar, a painting, an amazing turquoise bracelet, and various special items that we cherish. Chip has the most amazing treasures in his store, and knows the story about each and every piece. If you are filthy rich (NOT like us), or a working stiff who loves beautiful things but doesn't have unlimited funds (JUST like us), you will find your special in Chip's store. Plus, there is the priceless conversation that comes with a purchase, or just with a browse. I cannot stress enough, that if you love old things that have life in them, this is the place. Now that I just wrote that, I realized that both Chip and his store are a piece of irreplaceable Carmel by the Sea preciousness. Go there, now.

chip is very nice has a lot of interesting antiques have never bought anything but I do keep looking as I need stock for my ebay store militaria haven.Very nice guy in a great location swords inkwells old books old springfield carbine is in great shape.

Happened upon this little treasure of an antique shop, picked up a wooden rocker and some other items, this place has it all, take time to look in every little nook and cranny. Ask the proprietor Chip any questions you have about your antiques at home and the ones he sales, if he can't answer your questions he will find someone who can. Took a little pistol I had for over thirty years he had it cleaned and gave me the entire history on it. My go to for all my future antique needs.
