My partner and I are on vacation in California, and we stopped in Carmel for a couple of days.
We went in to look at shoes because I am a runner, and Míchel attended us, and he explained to me everything about the Hoka brand for running.
It's been a long time since I felt so comfortable in a store, how he enjoys doing his job and how I feel like running with his advice!!

I loved this store growing up and my family has gone here for years. However, I went to the store recently with my son to get a new pair of running shoes. I waited patiently while a lady was helping another customer. It was obvious I was waiting for assistance and it was ignored by multiple people in the store that work there. After 20 minutes I decided to leave with no help, greeting, or assistance. The store was not crowded and know that the other staff saw that I was in there looking for help. Completely disappointed.

Great customer service. Sophie was very thorough in explaining what shoes would be best for my feet after analyzing the way I walked. She took her time to explain everything well; I didn't feel rushed at all. Michael was also very knowledgeable and neither of them were pushy in their sales approach. The store has a variety of great items for active lifestyles. Highly recommend!

Awesome customer service! The owner, Chris, fitted me for a great pair of Hoka's. Took his time making sure I had the right pair for my needs - he seemed to know what my issues were before I even told him. Staff so friendly as well.

SmartMoney. best pkace to buy atheltic wear. They carry excellent brands like Patagonia, Arc'Teryx, Kuhl, The North Face, Ice Breaker, Run on Clouds, Smartwool. Wonderful sales people. Regardless of being a tennis player or golfer or just need gym wear this is a great place.

Purchased packs, socks, shoes, Patagonia jackets from them in the past. The Younger girl greeted me at the door but the old bitter Gnome lady with that Type-A personality there didn't say one word to me. Probably manager/owner?? In the past have seen Patagonia roller luggage, Duffel/backpacks there. I asked if they have any and she made it sound like they have never carried the product before. I clarified and said "actually I have seen them here before, in your store front window display and inside the store below your clothing racks." She then followed up with "oh-Ya..well they have not sold well in the past so we may not carry them again". The girl behind her was awesome trying to speak-but the Gnome spoke over her. Younger staff needed. You will most/same products at REI. Go to the Treadmill and try on-then purchase online. Dude that's there that wears glasses, shorts, long sleeve athletic sweater is awesome!! Trying to math "Dividend" program like REI-but not really. Staff turnover must be frequent because I usually see a new face every time I walk in. I now understand why. I have two friends that worked there in the past and they both told me that she knows she is Salty. 3/7/22 3/45pm

So thankful to have this store in Carmel! Every time I go in there the staff is extremely welcoming and always helps me find what I’m looking for! They are extremely knowledgeable of the different shoe types and were able to recommend the perfect running shoe for me. Also they have such a great collection of activewear. One of my favorite stores in Carmel! Also feels great to shop somewhere where I know it’s locally owned!

Michael is a Godsend! He was so thorough and taught me so much about my feet. He did not pressure me, but guided me to the right shoe. How grateful I am! I recommend The Treadmill!

I wanted a real person to look at my feet, learn what kind of running I want to do and then advise me on the appropriate shoe (I think it's called "personalized customer service"). Kim gave me the exact experience I was looking for. She looked at how I walked, asked insightful questions, even laced up the shoes she brought out as I tried each pair on. Found a pair I loved and wore them out of the store! Prices were just what I had planned to pay for quality running shoes so feeling pretty happy!
