It's a unique & beautiful place to shop & to see about placing your own items on consignment. The shop is forever changing its inventory based on items that sell. The owners are ALL friendly & honest.

Was told that what I was looking at was half off that would be 1500 I thought it wasn't worth that so I asked to pay 1200 they came back with 1400 I agreed to pay this and a little while later I get a call the person I spoke to was wrong and that it's 3500 if I want it ... they need to honor the price I was given and they refused to

Vicki, Steve, Jana and the team at Consignment By The Sea are very knowledgeable about the special pieces they consider for their offerings. Fair pricing and always handle with care.

The owners of the business are very personable and go out of their way to make sure that your items are displayed well and also bring a fair figure for both the seller and the buyer it's probably.

Consigned some furniture with Steve and was very pleased. Items were marked at a fair price and sold quickly. We are going to consign other items in the future.

Such a treasure trove of goodies...we were passing by, our target driving by and happened upon this little place full of stuff. They have all manners of things, from tables to other knick knacks, and though we didn't end up buying anything, the owners and/or managers were welcoming and pleasant. If I lived in the area, I could easily see myself wandering in here for the latest shipment.

When the man answered the phone at this business, he just said hello. No business name announced. Then had a bit of an attitude when I asked if he was open for consignments today. I specifically asked: are you open for consignments today? He scoffed at me saying, "We are open everyday for consignments." In my experience in the SF Bay Area and especially during COVID, the consignment shops are only open for consignments on certain days and certain hours. That's fine. It's great that this place is open all of time for consignments, but the attitude turned me off. I will take my business elsewhere. Thank you!

A treasure trove hidden in the center of the Crossroads Shopping Center, Consignment-by-the-Sea has a large selection of vintage and antique furniture, as well as art pieces. Just follow the little walkway tucked in between Ace Hardware and CVS Drugstore and turn left to the doorway of Consignment by the Sea. Even if you are just browsing, you will be glad you took this detour. The variety here is staggering, as well as the delightful lack of predictability from vintage and antique creations. Thanks to this store, there is a delightful large Japanese screen gracing our living room, with delicately painted pine branches. We also discovered a pair of red porcelain lamps, a black Japanese laquer chair with an ottoman, upholstered in a red geometric pattern, a leather topped coffee table with scroll legs, and four black upholstered modern dining chairs. The value of vintage furniture is that you can find solid wood, brand name pieces for a fraction of the cost at department and furniture stores. They even sometimes feature complete suites of the same style of furniture. A tip is to keep youe eye on the prices as the long the items are in the store, the less they are. They also sometimes have discount days here. The decorative items are also varied and fascinating. I recently saw a beautiful silk obi sash displayed on a chair and some delicate porcelain teacups. This gem is a must-browse each time I visit Carmel.
