I have multiple accounts with Chase Bank. As do my parents. We have been with Chase for many years. Everything has been fine until I stepped foot into the Carmel By The Sea branch last month. I went in to apply for a Chase Sapphire credit card ( i have perfect credit so no issue there). The officer there ,Wes Cantù, was the person I dealt with who assisted in my filling out the application, and sending it in. He told me the card should arrive within a week. After a week when it hadn’t arrived I called him and left a voice mail. No return call. Then I called two more times. On the 3rd try he answered. This is now into week 2 of my no show card. He couldn’t explain why the card hadn’t arrived and put me through to that department. They had the wrong address. I corrected it but was a bit dismayed that it seemed Wes had not filled out the application correctly. In any case The rep at Chase said they were cancelling the first card and sending another. Another week passed and no card. I called Wes again feeling he should help in sorting out where my card was. I left a vm. No return call. I called again. Left a vm. No return call. Now I am a month in trying to obtain my card. I call again. Vm. No return card. You can imagine my tone at this point but it did no good. I did finally reach someone at Chase on the 800 number after a good 45 minutes of being passed around from department to department. It turns out that Wes did indeed fill out the application incorrectly, splitting up the address on the wrong lines of the application (don’t we learn this in elementary school?) causing the address to read completely wrong. No small feat given it’s a UPS box number.
So I am writing this scathing review about this branch of Chase due to the lack of any hint of professionalism from their key officer Wes Cantù, in terms of his inability to fill out a basic credit card application, and consistently ignoring his client’s multiple calls. On top of that there doesn’t seem to be anyone else to speak to there to ask for help or complain to, so I’m left to leave a Google review, and perhaps file a complaint with the FDIC and the Better Business Bureau (both which are easier to navigate finding a person to speak to than Chase Bank in Carmel By The Sea). Maybe someone who knows Wes will read this and let him know he owes me a call, and my credit card. Which I’m still waiting for.

Terrible ATM. Theres only one? ATM did not give me my money. Errored out and said I had to contact the 1-800 number. Since I am not a Chase customer they could not help me. Had to call my bank, Schwab, to dispute cash withdrawal that I never received. The only good thing is the ATM did print out a receipt saying it could not dispense money. Walked 2 blocks to the Wells-Fargo. Which triggered a fraud alert. I dont bank with either but Bank of America ATMs will return your money if they error out and then they will display a banner saying Money Withdrawals are not working. Why cant Chase do this? Kept my money and still charged me the fee.

My family and I have had nothing but a bad experience with Chase Bank, both the Monterey and the P.G. branch, our mother passed away in Nov. and left some funds in her account there, which was named a Family Trust Acct, and the trustee of my parents affairs was doing everything by the book to get the funds OUT of Chase bank, they gave him a terrible time after he supplied all paper work required, and, they did not freeze the acct. until all paper work was done, so consequently, they allowed an estranged family member close the acct and steal all the funds that were left in it. And of course she went to the Seaside branch, where they should have known not to allow her to take the funds. Obviously they did not....the right hand doesnt' know what the left hand is doing at Chase Bank, and I highly recommend you dealing with any other bank but this one.

I was the trustee of my aunt and uncle's estate in Carmel and Chase Bank in Carmel was recommended to me by my Monterey lawyer, particularly private client banker Issy Johnson. Issy and I had to work together through a great many complicated trust-related banking matters. Issy, and Chase Bank, were excellent. Issy was incredible -- caring, skillful, knowledgeable, persistent, friendly -- I couldn't have done it without her. She even came in on her day off to help me out when deadlines were tight! In my many responsibilities as trustee in the Monterey Bay Area I met some real scoundrels, and some real gems. Issy was one hundred percent in the gem category! Thank you, Issy!

I was supposed to write this review a while ago and consequently intended to email the branch manager directly, but misplaced his email address when we got home from our trip. We were in Carmel for a day trip, my boyfriend and I, when I checked my account and found someone had placed fraudulent charges on my card...leaving me with little to no funds. I called the 1-800 customer service number, waited a while then was connected to a polite young woman with whom I was eventually abruptly disconnected from speaking to because my/or her phone dropped the call. Frustrated I sought out the nearest branch, this one, and spilled my story to an understanding teller named Cinnamon. She heard my problem, contacted a manager and after a short wait in a really nice lobby we were introduced to a gentleman in a crisp navy suit named Alessandro. He was polite, patient, and went above and beyond to help solve my issue. After a phone call he informed me a new card would be on the way, an investigation was underway and that I would get a credit on my account. I was relieved! Alessandro and Cinnamon were outstanding because they efficiently tended to my problem and did so much more than treat us like basic customers. They made us feel at home. Thank you both! And Cinnamon, I hope you got to go to Pismo with your husband like you mentioned. :) Best wishes, April + Adrian

Alehondro, bank manager is not honest. Hopefully after the reports we file this week the bank does something about it. Not a bank I would trust at this moment and time. I will be banking elsewhere because of him. Terrible service and attitude. Zero if I could.
