Just purchased a custom made amethyst pendant necklace for my 48th wedding anniversary. My husband said that I deserved this gift in celebration. Richard Shea is an artist and good craftsman. I had bought from him on our 40th wedding anniversary. It was oyster shell gold earrings, so beautiful. Will pick this up in September.

My fiancé and I could not have been happier with our experience working with Rick. We chose to go a non-traditional route to get engaged, and worked together with Rick throughout the process: I explained to him what I wanted in an engagement ring, and Rick expertly talked us through the pros and cons of the various elements I brought up. I wanted a ring with a delicate and soft look, but strong enough to support the diamond over the long haul. Rick did a perfect job combining beauty with fortitude and putting his unique twist on the design. The final product is a ring that I am in love with and that is truly unique. In addition to educating my fiancé and me throughout the process, in every aspect from talking us through various diamond options to sending us pictures of the mold he had created to craft the band, he even showed us his studio and walked through the entire process in person when we picked up the ring. We were very curious and liked being included in the process. Rick created my parents' wedding rings ~30 years ago, so it was so special to be able to work with him for my engagement ring and (eventually) for our wedding bands.

My wife and I needed a special piece of jewelry to celebrate an important wedding anniversary. While on a trip to Carmel, we stopped in Rick's studio. This was based on a recommendation from a relative. We were impressed with the beauty of the pieces Rick had crafted for others. As a an experienced master craftsman, he has an extensive knowledge of stones and metals. Rick patiently explained the pros and cons of every jewel, every setting and how the jewels and settings interact. We weighed the alternatives and finally made a selection. Rick and his wife Lisa are extremely personable, and it was a joy to work with them through this process. A few weeks later (after Rick had ordered the materials and when he was about begin crafting the item), we had a change of heart about our decision. We worried that he'd be upset about a major change to the jewels and the design, but he worked with us very graciously. I can't recommend Rick strongly enough.
