I live in Southern California and I am known at my Ace Hardware Store in Woodland Hills. I LOVE my Ace Hardware Store; friendly, informative and HELPFUL and EASY. So when we were visiting family in Northern California and my inlaws need, of all things, rat traps I went looking for the nearest Ace Hardware Store at 401 Mid Valley Way. Of course the store was perfect and compared in all ways to my home store in Southern California. EXCEPT this store had something my store does not have. Her name is Vicki and she ran the cash register. CHERRFUL, as she investigated if found everything I needed, POLITE as she was PROFESSIONAL. This employee has wonderful people skills. By the time I left this store this employee made feel as welcome as I do in my neighborhood Ace Hardware Store. Vicki, I hope the owner of the store realizes what an asset you are to his bottom line. Because of you Vicki, I told the family that they will change their where they get their Hardware store needs to Ace Hardware at 401 Mid valley Way. Vicki, I hope your management shares the Yelp Review with you and acknowledge you in a manner that reflects your high standards of service. Because of your service I gave your store 5 Stars. Favorite hardware store in Carmel/Monterey. I'm closer to the Ace at the Crossroads but I drive out there because the shop people are so kind, helpful and patient. I especially love my visits and chats with their sweet cashier Vicki. She is the top helpful hardware folk, for sure! Ten stars to Vicki.

Great small local ace hardware with extremely helpful staff. Kevin and Jake, the store manager, gave us wonderful info on barbecues and cooking techniques. So nice to have friendly, knowledgeable associates to help us with our purchase.

Reviews can be a wonderful tool, this comes from within as i am hungry to share my creative perspective and what i encountered while an employee... EVERYONE IS A WORK IN PROGRESS.... i used this experience to overcome COVID, only to find this... i had to stay busy and learned more about what i need to improve upon. I share this and found everyone should keep an open mind and not be closed minded because you can get stuck in the moment and damage your own career s i did. Thank you so much ACE, just stay open minded as i try,, and you will find new understandings and write with an open hearted perspective... For me, from me and passed back toward you... I LOVE THIIS COMPANY only sharing my experiences without judgement.

This Review, is in addition to my my Very Poor Review of ACE Hardware, Carmel, left on Nov. 11th, 2021. After 6 years, of spending thousand's of dollar's at this ACE Hardware store, I will never return to this store, due to the horrifically RUDE treatment I received, from what appears to be the oldest & bearded man working there! This employee, clearly needing to be fired, for his very poor treatment of a long-time customer, should not be working with the public. Not only was he RUDE, but I watched him as I was in a long line, not smiling to any of the customers before me. Shame! on ACE HARDWARE, CARMEL VALLEY!

Always friendly staff and readily available to provide help - obviously customer service is a priority. Sometimes I must go elsewhere because the small store doesn't carry the piece of hardware I need, but most times they do.
