I ordered a cake on Wednesday at Vons from the bakery and customer service was lacking that I had to elevate to a store manager.
I needed a custom cake to pick before 8 AM for Thursday but the bakery said they couldn't do it and were inflexible. The OBVIOUS solution is order the cake the DAY before and pick it up in the morning, not a difficult concept.
The cake was enjoyable and I took it to a morning meeting so I decided to give Vons another chance order another cake for this Tuesday.
I tried calling the bakery this afternoon but they never answer their phone so I gave up and went to another bakery in Carlsbad with someone who could help (and glad to support local business).
Vons not answering their phones sends a message to customers; the company only cares about short-term gains and doesn't genuinely value any of their customers.
Customer service and communication is lacking and employees seem to have no problem solving skills but leave it to the customers to figure out (who will take their business to another bakery that can work with them).
It doesn't take a college degree to answer a call, take an order for a cake, listen to the customer and do a little problem solving (like have a cake made in advance for an early morning pickup, not rocket science!).

Never gonna go back again seems they have started doing some frauds in the name of gift cards. Worst service and reaction from the staffs.

Ordered a custom cake for a retirement party. 1/2 sheet… went to pick it up on Sunday and it was never made! ? Not ok! Staff was rude!

Customer service is terrible everyone ignores you especially the bakery staff who clearly see me standing there and just continues to ignore me. I won’t be supporting this Vons anymore.
Update: the customer service manager made sure I was taken care of. Please check on your staff make sure they are not ignoring customers :)

The swing shift cashiers are nice. However, the prices are high at VONS. The manager changed the hours to close at 10:00 pm. I have now lost daily income on DoorDash & my acceptance rate is lowered on DD.

The check out price will higher than what you saw on the price tag. Lots of conditions or systems issues. I like simple things.

I believe your experience at vons varies totally on which one you shop at. So very different. If you want the best price make sure to download the app before going it saves you a lot.
