My first time ever in at Talbots! My sister-in-law recommend it as she always well dressed. Clark, the manager, was incredibly helpful and friendly. She found sizes for me. She suggested different articles of clothing that I might like and she brought me some jeans that fit absolutely perfectly. Clark made my shopping experience very enjoyable and productive. She told me about the sales and specials. Clark registered me for special promotions. I would recommend this particular Talbots to anyone wants to be a well-dressed lady and have a pleasant and budget-friendly shopping experience!

I order online from Talbots as I am able to get my size and apply coupons/codes easily. Several times though I need to return items so I hop into this store and also do a little browsing. In the past I've had no issues until yesterday. Whoever is the new older lady working at Talbots (she was there approx 4pm on 01/18/23), needs to be thoroughly retrained, especially in customer service manners. I came to the register with 3 separate online orders to return. She asked for my talbots account info and I told her I do not have a talbots account but I have the order slips that came with my packaging as well as the order confirmations on my phone. She then asked me who was the person who placed the order? She also asked it in a very rude manner as if she did not believe that those were my items I was returning. I'm thinking what on earth is she asking me? I'm not a doordasher. I placed the order lady. She then used my phone to type in the order numbers into her register as they appeared exactly on my phone. She kept typing in the wrong numbers over and over and looked at me and said, well its not taking your order numbers. Finally another person came over to help her and took care of it. The new lady was not entering the correct info. She was not friendly nor apologetic. If you are in training and a customer needs assistance, then get help from someone else and make sure you are kind to the customer and apologetic. A simple " I'm sorry I'm still in training" or something would have sufficed.

i putchased two tee shirts that were on sale when I went to return them they told me I wasn't registered with their store and couldn't get a refund. I was told I could only get a store credit. I live outside the country and didn't want a store credit. They said it was purchased as a gift which is a lie. i had all receipts they gave me and still wasn't able to get mymoney back. This is my first Yelp review and I will also share it on Facebook and other social media. DONT GO TO TALBOTS. I wouldn't have given them one star except there wasn't anything below one star.

My friend comes here for their petite selection. She's so compact that normal petite clothing is still too long for her. Here, she found a bunch of cropped pants that fit perfectly on her and she loved them. There were free cookies and water and plenty of seating for those accompanying shoppers. Minus one star because I think my friend was not taken as seriously as the other clientele. I know we're younger than who seems to be their normal shoppers, but they didn't seem to be as friendly toward us.

The store refuses to answer the phone. They had 7 people working in the store the day I called to inquire about an item. Eventually I drove 30 minutes to get there, went in and asked the manager why they don't answer the phone. First, she states the phone doesn't work it's out of order then in the next sentence she said they were also short staffed and just couldn't take time to answer any phone calls from customers. Hmmm which is it? If you have a customer calling during business hours you should answer the phone, otherwise it's just poor customer service. Lots of staff standing around, the store wasn't busy, and nobody can answer a phone. Luxury high end clothing stores answer the phone. Most businesses answer the phone during work hours. Wow

I am so upset at Talbots, for being a high end store they have the worst ties with the credit card synchrony issuer. I paid off my balance, ask that the account be closed and after I get a surprise bill of $1.76 for a mysterious fee/interest after I had asked for my balance,paid it and closed account well before 25 days of payment due date. This $1.76 turned into late fees etc. Please if you're a high end store get high end credit banking that doesn't try to rob clients.

BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED STORE ! My wife and I visit this shopping center frequently and love to check out the various clothing stores. This store is absolutely immaculate.....totally classy !

This store at the Forum leaves me scratching my head wondering why I return. Good thing the quality of the clothing is there because apparently the job (in the mind of the workers) is not to serve customers- but rather to talk to one another even when a customer is standing at the counter (with an arm full clothing - ready to buy). I never get greeted when I come in. I always help myself to a fitting room after walking through the store for 15 to 20 minutes. And I always have to wait at the counter even when there are four employees and no one else making a purchase. Today one of the women decided to finish her story while staring at me and then walked away and let the other woman reluctantly take care of the purchase. I'm an average woman in my 50's. Pretty much their target shopper. The staff turns over every year or so but the cruddy service never changes. Maybe it's time to look at the leadership?

I thought it was me until I read these reviews. I've been shopping at Talbots for over 35 years and always loved their customer service, at least, until I came to the Carlsbad store. I stop in when I'm down visiting my kids and have been in more than twenty times. Never, never once have I been acknowledged when I entered or offered help as I shop. The clerks just fold clothes without ever looking up...unless they look you up and down and keep folding. I now stop in for the sole purpose of returning my online items - I'll save my shopping for Nordstrom's, where customer service is still valued. I'm giving two stars only because returning is convenient, and free.

Talbots often has what I need but recently the sizing on the barely boot jeans really drove me crazy as I buy mostly online. Size 10p for the Champlain wash, size 12p for all other colors in the same style. So it was convenient to exchange sizes at the store in the Forum. The staff was very helpful. However, I buy online because the loud music that greets me at the Forum when I get out of my car just about makes me want to leave.

Ingrid at store 509 The Forum Carlsbad provided HORRIBLE customer service. Actually, she provided ZERO service. She did not look at any of the documentation that I brought in. She was surly and had a sarcastic tone with me - definitely NOT the type of service one would expect to receive from a Talbots representative, let alone at The Forum Carlsbad. I went in because I had an issue with a merchandise credit - the card came up as invalid? That was alarming to me because it had been in my purse for several years (pandemic). I had the receipt from the original transaction that took place at store 509 listing all of the transaction details. Earlier in the day, I had phoned Talbots Customer Service and spoke to a lovely representative. She did as much investigating on her end as possible (10 min.) and instructed me to go into the store (509) because that is where the transaction took place and because I had the receipt. She assured me that they could help me get it resolved. Again, Ingrid at store 509 didn’t look at any of the supporting documentation, nor did she OFFER to phone customer service on my behalf to get it resolved. She instructed me to call them back myself even though I told her that I had already spoken with them and they instructed me to come in. She shrugged her shoulders and spoke to me rudely - interrogating me in a way that indicated to me that she didn’t believe me. Again, she did NOT take the time to look at the receipt, the merchandise credit card nor call customer service. These are all minimal steps that I believe she could have taken. Furthermore, she said, “what do you want me to do, I don’t have $100 to give you.” It was an unnecessary comment and totally out of line. Upon leaving the store, I was able to get in touch with Talbots Customer Service (again) and spoke to Marquita who provided EXCELLENT customer service. Marquita spent 32 minutes on the phone with me. It has now been escalated to corporate. She apologized for the treatment that I received from Ingrid and indicated that Ingrid definitely could have called customer service herself. I went back into the store to ask Ingrid why she didn’t call and try to help me further? Ingrid’s response was, “because they would just asked to speak to you.” I am writing this review because I don’t believe that Ingrid has the temperament nor the skills to represent the Talbots name. It was an unpleasant experience and has consumed much of my day. It absolutely should have been handled in store (especially since I had the supporting documentation). I will be following up with store 509’s manager.
