What a wonderful bookshop and the store owner was a pleasure to converse with. You can hear his passion for books in his voice.Anyway, we had planned a weekend trip to Carlsbad and searched for used bookstores in the area and Farenheit came up. So glad we stopped in and were able to walk out with a few books.Many vintage finds for all you collectors. Look closely and carefully as there are so many nooks and crannies in the shop where hidden gems can be found. You can find art books to cookbooks to history books.Please note that the shop's lease for this location is up soon. If you and anyone know of a space in Carlsbad Village, please contact the store owner Philip. He and this community deserve to have a bookstore.We are never too old or too young to learn. Grab a book and enjoy a good read! Lookout for the bargain books!And I loved the music played during our shopping experience, French jazz, which set the mood for our lunch in a local French cafe.Support this small business and stimulate the local economy and our brains!

Such a cool place! Bookstore with a decent selection of recent releases, but the huge collection of the used books and vintage art is where it’s at! They have a ton of discounted books in every category. A fun place to browse around for a long time. The person behind the counter was also really nice and chatted with us for a while. My only wish is that I had the ability to spend on a beautiful piece of vintage art! There are some real gems there.

If you need a book, don't go to one of those "free book bird-houses" outside someone's home; they always have the books you never realized you didn't want, like "How To Re-install Your Printer," or anything by Stephen King. That's why Fahrenheit 451 Books is your go-to place for books in Carlsbad. There's a healthy selection of used books, in good quality, at good prices, and some signed/rare/collectible books as well. Owner is super nice, and the store smells good - thank you incense! I can't stop going here.

Caught the owner on a bad day as someone had thrown a rock through the front window. After talking on the phone with the owner previously and describing what I had, he suggested coming by with books in hand on a Friday after 1:00 or so. Today he was not interested in looking at my books. I drove 50 miles just to waste a few hours. Darn.

Such a great place to stop by if you're in town. There are clearance books up front, as well as paintings by local artists for sale. The space can feel a bit cramped if there's a lot of people but they have a lot of gems and classic authors. The pricing is written on the inside flap of the book if not already labeled.

You'll discover many fine books here at Fahrenheit 451 Books. Nice choices, coffee table books, some nice renderings that are framed, (see pic), out-of-print books too. Large literature section.Text for hours @ the number at the entry. We'll return soon.

Great place to stumble upon cool interesting books, including dated and out-of-print ones. Easy parking, friendly owner, quiet and nice atmosphere for some light weekend meandering and reading. I recommend. Also near great coffee shops and restaurants.

Is a great eclectic book store...something for everyone. Discovered it by accident walking around Carlsbad. Enjoyed talking to the owner. I look forward to going back.

I will give this place four stars but I was kind of disappointed. Definately has high quality used and rare books but the selection is not as big as some reviews were leading me to believe. Prices were also very very high. For what it is I think it's a winner but it didn't fill my needs. If you are looking for volume of inventory subtract a star. Otherwise give it a shot!

A nice find! On vacation here and hubby had been looking for a new Bible. Really didn't want to order online. He wanted to have it in his hands and feel the pages etc. Well I saw this place but told him I think it's only used and vintage books but I was wrong! He found the perfect new Bible (they only had a couple) and he couldn't be happier! Will go back again!

Love this little book store! The owner is incredibly kind and great at making suggestions! Also, all of the used books are in GREAT condition and reasonably priced. Definitely returning!
