There just are no words I can say to express my gratitude to and for Dr George. We discovered him back in 2019 when we decided to get hip replacement for our, at the time, 8 1/2 year old German Shepherd. He did such an excellent job that we got her other hip replaced as well, a couple of years later. Last year we went back to him and he removed two tumors that she had developed in her hind quarter. Last week we saw our Bailey was having a very hard time pooping. We took her to a local vet here in Los Angeles and they told us that she had a mass just outside of her colon and that we needed to find an oncologist. No oncologist here in Los Angeles could see her until the end of January. We called Mohnacky in Carlsbad and they got Bailey in that Tuesday. Dr George went over the X-rays with us and showed us that she had a giant tumor that was crushing her colon and her bladder, and there were blood vessels attached to the tumor. He told us emergency surgery was needed. We left Bailey there in their care and drove all the way back to Los Angeles, terrified that at 12 and a half years old, she wouldn't make it through the surgery. She stayed in the hospital for three nights and we called to check on her several times throughout each day. The staff also took pictures of her and sent those to us and they put us on speakerphone so that Bailey could hear our voices. We picked her up today and even though it was Dr George's day off, he came in to the hospital to talk to us personally about the surgery and Bailey's care going forward. We love this doctor. He has saved Bailey's life yet again, and for the rest of her life, we will continue to take her down to see Dr George for anything serious. He is brilliant, talented, gifted, compassionate, and he is our hero. We are forever grateful to Dr. George and the wonderful staff at Mohnacky Hospital in Carlsbad.

Dr. Zoran Djordjevich "Dr. George" is my hero! He saved my beloved German Shepherd, Bailey, more times than I can count. From total hip replacements, various cancer removal surgeries, to the latest tumor that literally crushed my dog's colon and bladder. He is THE GREATEST VET in the world, in my opinion. He even came into the office on his day off, just to speak to me face to face to go over any questions/concerns I had.Dr. George is the only Vet my family and I go to. I literally drive 2 hours just to have my Bailey see him, because there is no one else we trust more! Please, if you or someone you know needs a Vet/Surgeon, do not hesitant, contact Dr. George at Mohnacky Animal Hospital in Carlsbad.

Very nice people, great customer service, they can always fit me in if it's urgent, a little pricey but worth your piece of mind.

So far I've been pleased with their pricing and their vet services seem good. I'm giving 3 stars because their general customer service needs improvement. They book too many appointments in a day which means the place is crammed with barking dogs and it's stressful in there, you can tell all the staff are stressed out. This will also cause you and your pet to wait, your pet will end up sitting in a cage. We booked an appointment for an exam and got there on time. We waited for 20 minutes or so and then our dog was taken into the back and we were told to basically wait outside or go home and then come back. Pretty sure my dog sat in a cage for an hour just waiting his turn. What's the point of the appointment when they're not actually ready for you? But I did really appreciate the vet's effort in helping save us money. She took us into a room and crunched numbers with different options which was super nice! This is why I don't hate them yet. My other complaint about customer service is the woman who answers the phone seems to intentionally give you super vague answers that seem to cover up lack of organization. When I asked why I made the appointment but then was told to go home while my pet stayed there, she gave a super vague response about COVID etc but that doesn't really explain the long wait. I had to bring my dog back to get his tooth extracted. They told me to drop him off at 9:15am and they'd call us when he was under to let us know of any other issues. They didn't call me until 4:30pm. So I think it's obvious he spent the whole day in the cage waiting for this procedure and when I asked why it seemed they got started so late she gave me another super vague response. Now what's worse - my dog came home from this procedure and was bleeding pretty heavily last night, there was thick blood all over the floor. When I called this morning asking if this is an emergency and what to do, the woman on the phone told me the nurse would be in soon and will call me "in a little bit". I asked "does that mean a few minutes? A few hours? I'm clearly concerned." She responded with "she'll be in within an hour and will call you as soon as she can." It just still sounds so vague and just a way to get me to stop asking questions. I wish she would understand that the situation is concerning. Seems like she can be honest and just tell me she doesn't know when she'll be in and then go find out?! What if something is seriously wrong?? I guess I'll wait to see what "a little bit" turns out to be.

Thank you does not begin to describe the appreciation and gratitude I have for the staff at Mohnacky. More specifically Vivian and Dr. Souther. My 18 year old Chihuahua had eye removal surgery at the Vista location back in February. I woke up to one of his eye sockets looking extremely swollen and saw some discharge. I was not able to take him to Vista, so I called the Carlsbad location and they took him in right away. Vivian called me every hour to keep me posted on my old guy, and making sure I was updated every step of the way. When I went to pick him up, they had gone above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable, loved and well taken care of. I was able to meet with Dr. Souther as well, and all I can say is, if I could hug them both I would! I know my little man doesn't have much time left with us, but they made sure that the time he does have, he is as healthy and as comfortable as he can be. I will never go to another Vet after the experiences I have had at Mohnacky. Thank you SO much Vivian and Dr. Souther for EVERYTHING!

How in the world this place has 4 stars is beyond me. I only came here because we loved Escondido mohnacky but we moved to Oceanside. Aside from the name these places have nothing in common. This location is loud and cramped, when they put me in an exam room with my scared cat I could hear dogs barking loudly and employees clearly talking badly about customers. I waited 25 minutes before the vet came in with no apology for running late. I figured, hey they seem busy so I'll give them another chance. I should not have done this. I tried again today with my other cat and despite a completely empty waiting room, 30 minutes went by without anyone coming in the room. When I went out to ask how much longer it would be there were vets and vet assistants standing around doing nothing. What a waste of a trip. And such a shame because Mohnacky Escondido had been my go to for years.

I love Mohnacky! My favorite thing about them is they are always available whenever I need them. I find that other vets are quite far booked out and can't get me in, even when my pet needs rather urgent attention. The girls at the counter are very welcoming and friendly, the nurses are informative, and I've never had a bad experience with a doctor there. I've definitely found my home vet.

Not sure how to feel. On one hand the staff was extremely nice, seemed knowledgeable. 1. They do a neuter with no previous examination but they have. The city subsidized low cost option for 145 for dogs 100lbs plus. They told me no water 12 hours prior I specifically asked and then o get there and they say water was fine. The price went up to 380 which is fine because I know the retained testicle isn't easy. I leave and an hournlater get a call saying it will be 40-80 dollars more. I come back 6 hours later at the expected pick up time and get. A bill for 800. Didn't ask me ahead or anything, I had already agree to the extra meds to make it 380. The extra amount was fine ultimately because I have the money but what if I hadn't had it upon pick up? Seemed dishonest. I was just glad he was safe and over with. But they basically did a thoracotomy, I've shown my naval hospital nurse and doctor friends who also own dogs and they're in shock. I just feel so bad for my boy that they searched everywhere for it and now he's going to have like a foot long v scar. I wish they had ultrasound or something. The money wouldn't bother me if it didn't look like he got butchered. But maybe they did their best and I should be happy he's alive!? They were very polite but I would've just gone with the nine low cost option if it was going to be 800 anyways and not have to wait 8 hours not knowing what was happening to him.

Sadly, have to change my review a day after I left it because I paid a lot of money to learn how to tube feed, and as amazing as my nurse was, I called as soon as they opened today because I still haven't been able to get the hang of it no matter how much I tried, my poor newborn pup hasn't been able to eat in over 12 hours.. it's a matter of life or death which I told the front desk lady who answered the phone this morning - she could care less. She said they don't get in until 10am, her soonest appointment is at 10:45am.. I said it's been over 12 hours she's losing weight, can someone else there please just help with the tube feed.. it takes them literally 2 minutes if you know how to do it. She said no. How disturbing. Clearly doesn't care. Called my other vet, they took me in right away, and only charged me $5 to teach me again and do it for me vs paying over $100 to learn here and not even get the help after since I'm struggling. Not sure I'll come back after that experience.

Very disappointed that after a major leg surgery with our baby boy, that could of been life threatening, we never received a follow up call from Dr George to let us know it's he was ok. We had to reach out before they closed and they were clueless they didn't even call us. They are soo busy, half the time they don't answer the phones, they always blame it on their phone system. SMH Not very reliable, very disappointing, especially after a $5000 surgery.

My morning started off with my dog puking all over his blanket. Ok, that happens sometimes. But in the span of 2 hours he had puked 3 more times. We called Mohnacky and got him a 10:00 appointment. We use Dr. Jurak as our Veterinarian and her awesome nurse Kate. Kate listened to our concerns and told us it would be a while and asked if we were okay leaving him. Absolutely, they always take wonderful care of our pets. About an hour later I got an update from Kate that he seemed fine and the X-ray showed there was no blockage but they wanted to monitor him for a couple more hours. Turns out he must have eaten something that didn't sit right in his belly. He is otherwise healthy. I so appreciate Kate keeping me in the loop and being so understanding with all my questions. I am so incredibly thankful for people like Dr. Jurak and Kate. I would not hesitate to recommend them to any friend or family.
