At the start of the month I was told that it would take 14 days until they could assign someone to fix an account issue. Then to fix it takes about a week. It is now the middle of the month and they are going to "try" to get it expedited by getting a fixer assigned in 7 instead of the now normal 21 days. It seems that they have a magic time machine to go backwards. This all has to do with transferring the assets in the account to my name from my deceased wife. Sooo there is no question of the outcome except this.............In the mean time the funds are not being productive for me and since Schwabb is doing this to many others how much are they increasing their own profits by collecting interest on the funds? I wonder if this is a case of incompetence or corruption? This company appears to be limping along and perhaps it is ready to go out of business.

The customer service is great, no complaints from. I've come in a couple of times and everyone has been nothing but amazing with me. I have recommended them to my kids and coworkers.

It's kinda a bank and kinda a stock brokerage with all the goofy rules of both. I worked through it. I hope you can. They were very professional and polite.

We had a check from them stolen from our mailbox two months ago and they've done nothing to help get our money back. They have the persons name who stole the check and the bank it was cashed from. They told my husband we'd be lucky to get our money back.

I totally agree with the many others who rated this Charles Schwab office with 1 star...in my recent 1st (and last) experience, they were unfriendly, inefficient and quite stupid. Right before the holidays I was given a trust with almost $900K worth of stocks. The trust was from a Charles Schwab account holder so I was required to open my own Charles Schwab account so the stocks could be transferred to me. Since there is a Charles Schwab office right up the street from me it seemed like a nice idea to support and form a relationship with a local business in my community instead of transacting online. I made an appointment with a financial advisor named Gregg Alsbury....he seemed fine over the phone but was an idiot in person. Within a few moments of meeting Mr Alsbury, I walked out of the office, came home and opened an account online which I will close as soon as the stock transfer is complete and I can open an account with another company/financial advisor who understand customer service and California law.

I've been with Charles Schwab for a few years. I've worked with Greg on a few occasions, he's been great. He helped me transfer my 401k, set up POA on accounts and handled an AB Trust. As a former Branch Manager for a savings and loan, I understand the complexities of dealing with legal departments. Greg completed the process efficiently and there were no surprises from Schwab's trust department. Be prepared, most brokerages and banks will not accept outside POA's because they can be revoked without informing the brokerage or bank. Most brokerages, banks and savings & loans have in-house POA forms that must be completed in their office or notarized if completed out of their office.

I'd give it zero if I could. The worst customer service I think I've EVER received ANYWHERE. Don't take your business here. They apparently don't need it.

Don't go here without an appointment. You will only get to talk to the receptionist or talk on the phone to a representative. You can save the trip and talk on the phone to a representative at home.

This branch continued to take instructions from my father after he had clear Alzheimer's symptoms. They prevented allowing me to exercise power of attorney over his account, complete with passive-aggressive behavior. They were the last to turn over control of his assets to his estate, despite approaching them lawfully.

My dad gave me a fifty dollar bill Because I'm his favorite son And I swapped it for two crisp twenties 'Cause two is more than one And then I took the twenties Traded them at Citi Group For three tens, I guess they don't know That three is more than two Next, I saw ol' J.P. Morgan Must be 'cause he can't see Gave me four fives for three tens As four is more than three I took the fives to U.S. Bank Down by the old sea shore And the fools gave me five ones 'Cause five is more than four When I went and told my dad I saw he was red in the cheeks He closed his eyes and held his head Too proud of me to speak #talk2chuck #WhatzInUrWallet? #UncommonWisdom Pro tip: unless you grasp the intricate laws of compound interest as I do... Charles Schwab provides winning brokerage, banking, and financial strategies

Make every effort NOT to deal with Mark the branch manager. He is apathetic, rude and has clearly worked for Schwab way to long. Hopefully he retires soon or is replaced as Schwab promotes younger managers with better more positive attitudes. Mark is a great example of people that simply punch a time a clock in corporate America and do "just enough".

Excellent front desk and IT help. They were able to provide me a proof of funds letter, and info on how to use features on my accounts I was unfamiliar with---no appointment, I was just a walk it. I wish I lived in Carlsbad--Excellent office.
