Have rented many cars in many parts of the world but can confidently say the clerk at the Carlsbad Airport branch of Budget Car Rental was hands-down the worst. Had to switch out a vehicle that had a punctured tire/air pressure issues and she unhelpfully took about two hours to do this simple thing (despite cars being available). Clearly in the WRONG job and with zero customer service skills. Lacking in respect and a really bad attitude. She’s harming your brand Budget Car Rental!

Cindy at McClellan airport was just awesome! In spite of being very busy, she was very friendly and efficient. We had to exchange a car due to some issues with the tire/ handling and she found us a car to exchange as soon as she could. God Bless her?.

Rented with Budget last year and the customer service is certainly lacking. Waited almost 45 minutes for my car because the only person cleaning cars was "on lunch." When I turned in my vehicle, this location also attempted to charge me a cleaning fee as there was "evidence that I had been smoking in the vehicle." I have never smoked in my life so I find that hard to believe. I called Budget customer service and they informed me that the location had uploaded no evidence that the vehicle had been smoked in or was even dirty for that matter. Budget HQ issued me a refund but I'd say rent elsewhere if you have the ability to.

Did not have the car that I reserved and was going to charge me more for a larger vehicle. It's not my fault that you didn't prepare for my reservation, and it's not right that I am being punished for it. Get your act together!

Cindy was so friendly and accommodating to my family this week. Made everything so easy for us with our rental car! Also gave us a sweet Malibu that was perfect for our trip!

Reserved a full size online, but was told it was not available at the counter. Had to downsize at the same price!$? Car was OK, but on return was told “checking you out now. Receipt will be in you email”. Two weeks later and still no receipt. They also held $250 on my credit card for a week. Not to my expectations.

This company wanted to give me a pick up truck or a minivan for $200 a day come on I’m sorry $189 a day for four days so I went outside and booked seven through the app which put me at $297 for four days for a car a nice car actually. And when I came back in with that which was booked to pick up at 5:30 they told me it takes three hours to get into their system and that it wouldn’t be ready until 830 but that they could see my reservation.

If I could give a rating of -10, I would. I am an Asian American woman and feel like I was treated in a way which was discriminatory. The car which Budget gave me has been ringing and a message on the dashboard says “Maintenance Required See Dealer.” I called Budget and was instructed by Budget to come to this office for a replacement car and have never been treated so badly and disrespectfully in my life. The representative at this office yelled at me when I would not accept a pickup truck as a replacement for a Toyota Corolla and kicked me out of the office.I then called the Budget Roadside Assistance number and was hung up on twice so I did not receive assistance from that office either.

We reserved for a certain price and once we arrived they said they could not honor that price and would charge us MORE THAN DOUBLE. Customer service was NASTY. Rude, inconsiderate, and liars. Would give them a negative 100 if I could. STAY AWAY.

NEVER PREPAY!!! My rental was $250. I prepaid online. I called to cancel and was told that since I prepaid they would charge me a $152 cancellation fee. I will never rent from Budget again. Any company that treats its customers this way is something I do not wish to see profit

Just spoke to Veronica. Sold my car (of 12 years) yesterday. Need a car until Friday, at least.I'm retired, my wife retires next week. Leaving for Florida in September - no exact date.Veronica didn't say much. I then realized she may have someone holding.Anyway, it went .....awkwardly. We were not making a connection.Felt bad about their single one star review; and thought I would give them some business? Didn't work out.....
