Fred B. is an exceptional salesman! I just bought my second used Mazda with the help of Fred after purchasing my first used car from him in 2018. The entire team at AutoNation Mazda is communicative, personable, and the least bit pushy every step of the way. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough, especially if you’re buying used!

Colin and every one at Mazda service center was so helpful! They gave me a visual with options for what vet car needed service on at 75k. I also received a video of my car and with updates as they went. They were so courteous! I was also given a great deal for tires and never felt pressured! I will continue to keep coming here for my car service.

So disappointed in AutoNation. Loved this dealership and trusted them as Bob Baker, but not going back. Took my car in for an oil change and to have 2 other things checked on. They came back to me with $2200 in recommended services (including ones not needed yet) and said in the video inspection (without showing my brake pads) that my brakes needed to be changed. Well, I had my brakes changed less than 20,000 miles ago but not through them. They said my brake pads were dangerously low. Looking at my inspection sheet from the last time I was there, less than 5,000 miles ago with Bob Baker, they were completely in the green so that's pretty amazing they went all the way down to red. When I confronted them, they told me that the last person must have lied to me and didn't do my brakes. I replied, "I'll let my father know you said that since I bought the brakes and rotors and watched him change them." At that point, the employee told me that if it's not in their system that they did it, it will auto add to the recommendation list. However, several calls later trying to convince me my brakes were bad, I was done and told them I didn't trust them to do work on my car and to complete the oil change. It's a way to swindle people who don't know any better. They comped my oil change, probably hoping I wouldn't write this review.When I got my car home, it was apparent my tires were never even removed from my car based on the grease and dirt around my lugnuts and you can't check my brake pads with the tires on. Very sad. I don't recommend them.

I have had a great experience of getting my car serviced at AutoNation Mazda Carlsbad. They provide a video of the full point inspection, which is helpful to make decisions about what services to complete. The waiting area is clean and filled with good amenities, and I typically walk to the outlets down the street while I wait as well.

This place was amazing and quick! I came in wanting to trade in my vehicle, my sales representative Fred was very kind and knowledgeable in walking me through the process. I was able to take my Mazda3 home the same day. Thank you!

Autonation Mazda Carlsbad is the best. Lucas and Kyle were excellent. They helped listen to my needs, and help me find a vehicle that suited them, and didn't try and overly sell me on the car. They let the driving experience speak for itself. The finance department helped me understand the process and walked me through the numbers, treating me like family. I feel taken care of and I am very happy with my experience here as well as my new car. Thanks guys!

I had a great experience at Carlsbad Mazda last week. The dealership was well organized, clean and thorough in their examination and service to our vehicle. Colin and the entire staff could not have been more helpful and patient with explaining everything to me. I would absolutely go back to this dealership - outstanding group!!!!

Was quite surprised by how efficient this process was. Went in for a simple oil change, and came away with not only the service I had anticipated, but a renewed faith in Bob Bakers Auto Service. Comfortable waiting room, fast service and a very explanatory video/photo of MY own car, and what was done and what was suggested! Very nice! Thank you for a great experience!

I was very pleased with my experience with Noah and the crew. I received a very competitive quote online. Other dealers didn’t match it or wouldn’t give me an online quote. After visiting another dealer who didn’t have any in stock and who didn’t offer to beat their pricing, I headed up to Carlsbad. I brought my friend Gerald along for backup, but honestly, I wasted his time. They didn’t try to pull any tricks; they honored their price. They didn’t try to give me a ton of addons. And no extra fees showed up. It seems to always take a while- 3 hours, so that’s my only complaint. But they got me out the door as quickly as they could. I would definitely recommend.

I used to love this dealership, but since the buy out from AutoNation, it seems like they’ve gone downhill and are only there to squeeze every last penny from their loyal customers. I’ve been coming here for years (prior to the buy out) for my Mazda routine services and my experience yesterday was far from my past experiences. I used to always appreciate the level of service, honesty and customer care here however, yesterday felt like I was in a slimy mechanic’s shop. I was pressured multiple times for upsells for things that aren’t even yet recommended for the year and mileage of my vehicle. I’d caution anyone to please do your research before you go to this dealership to ensure you know what services your car needs before you are pressured into spending unnecessary money for unnecessary services. I went in for my appointment for a routine oil change and tire rotation ($157) and the service tech attempted to have me pay almost $1500 for services I absolutely did not need. I’m well versed in the recommended services and maintenance for my vehicle and ensure I’m always up to date on maintenance. Unfortunately, they picked the wrong person to try to bamboozle. I will not be taking my car here again.

I had been getting routine service at Bob Baker Mazda on my CX-5 since 2015. This was my first time back since AutoNation took over and it was very disappointing. I was offered three levels of "maintenance" ranging from $340-1,400. Bob Baker generally charged less than $150 but I wasn't given the option to do anything less than the $340.Despite having an appointment, I was told service would take 2 hours. It took almost 3. The rep did give me a discount for the long wait, which I appreciated, but I should have been informed that it would take longer. Finally, I got into my car and it smelled like a gas station bathroom, a sickly sweet fragrance that I didn't ask for but undoubtedly paid for. I will be getting service elsewhere from now on.

The dealership was understanding of what I wanted done initially when I arrived. Then Colin went beyond what I expected, efficiently while I waited, by communicating to me what my vehicle needed besides the service being done after diagnosing an issue I had mentioned. I had confidence in the dealership that makes me a return customer at heart when I received my vehicle and left.

Went in to have the vehicle checked out and they found two items that needed to be addressed. They did some digging in with our mileage records and one of the items was covered under warranty. We really appreciate the extra effort to research this and as well as providing great car care.
