Customer service at this hotel is non existent. Front desk regularly not staffed; hotel restaurant asked us to “hurry up and cash out” so waitress could go home. It was noon. GM has no sense of customer service as we gave feedback multiple times to no avail. For a $5k stay, absolutely disappointing.

Attended a beautiful wedding here. The view from the terrace is amazing for pictures. The atmosphere is very peaceful and inviting.
Nearby activities: There are 3 hotels in the group, and access is given to all 3 properties - the pools, the restaurants, etc.

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at the Westin Carlsbad; I figured that a resort located literally next door to the Legoland theme park would’ve been absolutely swamped by families with lots of loud kids - but in fact our stay was exceedingly quiet, restful and private.
Fantastic views and great service just added to the resort’s overall value proposition; not to mention the great heated saltwater pool and jacuzzi., and you’re able to use the pool facilities replete with slides at the adjoining Sheraton resort next door. Though we didn’t take advantage of these extra amenities, I imagine that this would add a lot of value for families traveling with young children.
If you are seeking a hotel for a corporate trip to the North County area then be sure to check out this place, as it’s really nice, especially for the price point, which as a side note is always fluctuating as there seems to be frequent discounts and promotions.
My only gripe with my stay was the layout of the resort, which isn’t particularly easy to navigate, especially for people with mobility issues as there can be a very long trek to your guest room depending on which wing of the property you’ve been assigned to. But that little inconvenience is a tiny nitpick in comparison to how personable and friendly the service was.

Booked 3 weeks in advanced. They overbooked the hotel and sent us to a hotel with no pool, no gym, no valet, no bellman in a construction zone.
Was sent confirmation email and reminder email for check in too that morning.
Not a reliable hotel to book and staff was rude and unapologetic.

I was charged $384 for no reason. I brought it to the front desk's attention when checking out while it was a pending charge. I was told I would just get charged $923 for my stay, and I got hit with a permanent charge of $384 on top of the $923. Called multiple times and a manager hasn't contacted me. Now I need to spend time disputing this charge with my bank. Lots of garbage was left outside someone's door for the whole weekend. Lots of spiderwebs need to be cleared and the hallways should not feel like a hot garage. Room was good but the negatives make it suck overall. I would probably give it like a 3.5/5 if it wasn't for the $384 but the overcharging situation with no response is ridiculous.

Stayed here for our yearly golf tournament. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The room was perfect (used points to get an upgrade to a suite) ... Parking is not cheap at $43.00 per day for valet... but worth it.

Especially Westin hotel is still new and there is nice pool and spa!!

Nice relaxing hotel with great staff. The location feels super laid back and relaxing. It’s right next to LEGOLAND and allows you to enter through a separate entrance and bypass all the chaos and queues at LEGOLAND.
Rooms: Bathrooms cannot be locked which is super weird if you stay with a family! What’s with Marriott on this entire bathroom concept !
Nearby activities: LEGOLAND and lots of great Mexican food joints.
Walkability: 5 mins walk to LEGOLAND private entrance

Stayed for a week. Usually you get tired fast of a place when you're staying away from home. Felt conformable the entire time. Housekeeping and the rest of the staff were great! Beautiful hotel!

The front desk staff is not very good for a 4 star hotel. I was ignored by everyone but one guy that was obviously training. Then when the front desk clerk finally acknowledged me, she was very short with me. She didn't say hi, didnt tell me what was included with my stay, I didn't want to talk to her after the interaction.It's these kind of situations that make people wonder, is it the color of my skin or are they having a bad day or just bad at their job. I work at a 2 star hotel and we are way more courteous to guests. Her initials were MZ possibly MK. I only write reviews for really good experience and food or bad experiences and food. This warrants a bad review only of this person, the property was very nice and a person I spoke to on the phone for guest services was very polite.

I cashed in over 100K in points to stay for 2 nights. They told me they only had 1 room left when I got there and the hvac for the room wasn’t working. I checked out the room, it was hot, and there were marks all over the floor. Not what you would expect from the Westin brand. They made me beg for a different room and wouldn’t budge until I told them my dogs would overheat. After pleading with them, they magically found a fully functioning room.
My wife unfortunately left a couple items behind, so we contacted the property to notify them of the items. They took down my information and told me they would send me a link to start a claim for the items that were left behind. They never followed up with the resources they promised.
The only positive experience I had with the property all weekend was the friendly gentleman, Jack at valet.
