I worked as a caregiver for over 3 years. I was an exceptional caregiver and always said YES when they called me. I truly enjoyed my job and deeply cared about my clients. After over 3 years of excellent service I was put in a very uncomfortable situation with new clients that were abusive to staff. Safe At Home was well aware of this not only from me but other caregivers as well. Even after voicing my concerns I was told I had to go back and when I did there was an incident that led to me being in tears and almost hysterical. I tried calling SAH but no one answered so I called my boyfriend in tears waiting to hear back from SAH and because of that they used that to fire me. I was told these clients were their highest paying clients and it was either them or me. After being an amazing employee for years I was shocked that they would not hold the clients accountable and let their caregivers continue to be terribly verbally abused and put down constantly and deeply hurt that after so many years they would just fire me like that when I am the one who was being abused and they didn't seem to care. To find a sneaky way to fire me that I was on my phone at work just really showed me their character. You're welcome for the years I put in and thanks. Real nice. I gave an extra star simply because they were good up until that point but business is business I guess.

Safe at Home has great people who make a difference in the community. I participated in their Alzheimers walk fundraiser a couple years ago and their “baby time” event and was impressed with the compassion and professionalism of their team of people.

We have had Safe at Home handle our Mom's in home care for over two years, and have been completely satisfied with their service! Luisa, the coordinator has always made sure we were never without a fill-in caregiver, if the usual caregiver is not able to come in. All of the staff have been diligent, caring, and knowledgeable. They have been well trained, leave notes every day regarding Mom's state of mind and activities of the day, plus what housework they have done. When Mom needed overnight care, Luisa was able to staff those hours with competent, kind staff right away. All of the staff has been willing to go above and beyond whenever needed. It's such a relief to feel completely confident that Mom is being well cared for.

I shared with the operator and the 1st person who took over from me all that needed to be known about my family member (broken limb, alzheimer's diagnosis). 24-hour care for $550 per day should include communication between shifts. None of the information I gave was shared with any other person who came in to care for my family member. They have no method of communicating from one shift to another. One worker slept through his/her shift according to the nurse who dispenses medicine to my family member. We are arranging to be without their services as soon as possible but for working adults - who do you call when a family member needs 24 hour care?
