We cannot say enough good things about this place! Super flexible- I called ahead to change the time of our jet ski rental, Joe happily accommodated. My husband and I had such a blast with the jet skis and Joe treated us both very well and made the experience more worthwhile. Give this place a shot- you won't be disappointed!

Joe, Bo, and the whole team at Majors Outpost are the absolute best. We rented a pontoon boat for a whole week. The staff welcomed us with huge smiles, and gave us all the vital instructions, safety parameters, etc. Everyone could not have been nicer from the time we made the reservation to the time we dropped the boat off. Throughout the week, we went back and rented jet skis, plus a speed boat to go tubing. Again, they all were so thorough with rules, etc. They're the best, and we can't wait to return to the lake and rent through them again!

Awesome! We drove down from Susanville on a whim and found this place to rent a boat. It was super easy to find and the ladies than ran the place were great. Have everything you need. Vests, a Bluetooth speaker for the boat for music and best of all --for the kids, an inflatable slide. We just wanted to go out for a swim. Did just that! Only down side is you have to rent in 2 hour blocks. So be sure to call ahead!

Would give Major's Outpost 6 stars out of 5 if possible. Joe and his staff are incredible in every way. I rented from them several years ago and again in 2023 and they are still truly one of the best businesses of any kind that I have experienced. Their prices are better than any competitor at Lake Almanor (or any other lake in California that I know of). This is highlighted by the fact that all the toys (tubes, wakeboard, skis, etc...) come free with boat rental. Add to this a culture based around a deep desire for the customer to be happy and have a great time and you have a 6-star experience. Totally worth the drive from San Diego to hang at Major's. Oh yeah, forgot to mention the FREE BEER that is always available. Thanks to all at the Outpost!

Joe and his team are absolute rock stars! We rent a ski boat every year for my friends birthday and it runs perfect. It’s clean. And they’re incredible nice and personable and accommodating. I willAlways use them and come here every year!

We were here for a family reunion and had a party of 10. We rented a pontoon boat for 4 hours, and then a couple of days later rented some jet ski’s. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They took time to explain everything we need to know. Overall a great experience.

This is the place to go if you want to rent a boat for the lake! The staff are friendly and we had a great time on the lake.• For those who have dogs, they are not allowed on the boats.

I want to thank the owners and staff of Majors Outpost. From the first time I called to make a reservation all the way until we finished our rides, they were so nice. First we rented a pontoon, and it was so fun. Later in the week we rented jet skis. The people who run the place were so great with instructions and the skis and equipment were top notch. My whole family had a blast, and the boat and skis were the highlight of our lake trip. They are great folks and we appreciate the service and fun. I highly recommend!!

Joe understands customer service. We rented a ski boat during our family vacation on Lake Almanor. This was a first for us and our experience was so great we booked it again for the next day! Friendly, helpful staff and everything we needed for a perfect day out on the lake. Tip: don't map this location, map Plumas Pines Marina and look for the shade structures on the right.

They need to update their website if they aren't going to be open during the days/months that are posted. They also don't answer their phones or emails so what's the point to having a business? Wasted over an hour finding the place for it to be closed is really frustrating. They lost out on a LOT of money today.

All my gear got stolen out of a locked truck at the almanor boat ramp. Majors hooked me up with a great rental which made my day on the boat much less painful.Thank you so much, you guys are awesome. Everyone support this business!

Highly recommend renting from Major's Outpost. Joe and the staff are amazing and the process and price for renting are easy and affordable, respectively. Just wish we could have spent more time out on the lake.
