Customer service has gone down the drain at this Gamestop. I was there today morning 1/21/24 and the guy who was there was extremely rude to all customers. Which you can see nobody was buying because of him.

Poor customer service. Refused to take returns, Staff stated that they don't take returns for collectibles even though I bought it online and was delivered to me damaged. I asked to speak to the Manager but Staff stated there is no Manager on site. I checked GameStop Return policy online and there is no such thing and I was able to return damaged items through Fedex drop off. What kind of GameStop store doesn't know their own company return policy. Do yourself a favor and avoid this store. Just use Best Buy if you really want an in store experience buying video games or collectibles, they have friendly and more knowledgeable staff.

Came in here to buy a Roblox giftcard, at the balboa location they usually never have the giftcard price I want so they always print out a receipt with the Roblox codes at the bottom of the receipt for redemption. So my wife came in here asking for a card for our son, the cashier just said "we don't have those" and "we dont do that anymore". Just not approachable and not receptive. I don't expect a 5 star service but wow, coulda been alittle more helpful.

I got a Minecraft toy plush for my nephew for Christmas, he opened it the day of and the toy was ripped. You are unable to see the rip until you actually handle the toy. Took the toy plush back the next day and the employee said they will not be able to return it since the box was open. I'm not sure on how you can check an item to see if it is damaged without opening the box! Will never purchase an item there again and will never recommend this store to anyone.

If you plan on trading anything here, like if it was a good idea anyway or buying any m rated game don't come here I had more trouble buying an m rated game here and trading a used controller then buying liquor off the store with my identification

I went in for a used controller 2 days ago . As I create content for YouTube (saucedxup) I pick up a controller pay 55$ with warranty I ask the guy " you guys test for stick drift right " he says yes that's what this computer is " for " as I go home I plug it in only too find out the stick drift is even worse in the controller I bought FROM them than the one I already have .. I go back they tell me " you need too use your warranty too replace it " I just had this for 8 hours max .. so I use my warranty too get a replacement for a controller that SHOULDVE worked in the first place the worker was gonna give me my warranty onto the next controller since he said I sold it too u not long ago don't worry , manager comes out and says .. no u have too use your warranty .. makes no sense .. they give me THE 2nd controller .. I take it home .. it's DEFECTIVE ASWELL !!! The plug in cord cannot work it turns off .. I'm so disappointed at this point my time gas . Is worth more than that controller not too mention when the guy was " testing " them there was like 5 more defective controllers on the wall . " ready " for sale I should've recorded . I wish I could get ahold of the owner .. they wasting his money he will go shut down if these workers don't get their act right

Great Experience good service love this game stop, it's in the mall also so it's really convenient, and it's the closest to my house which makes it easy and fast to get there.

If I can give a negative score, they will get one. I am a customer who wants to be rung up however the only person who can ring up people was busy with a bunch of friends who are not buying and trying to manipulate the system by finding previously purchased items and exchanging for credits. I asked him if the other employee can ring me up and he didn't even look up and just said oh he is just a regular employee. And who isn't??? What a fu**** up store. I would never go back there again.

Drove atleast 12 miles to come pick up the zapados ex box! I was told over the phone they would hold it for me but when I got there they told me they were sold out.. they could simply told me we can’t hold the product or we’re simply sold out.. smh bad experience

Customer Service is terrible. Just one cashier attending on the weekends. Saturday afternoon. One person working and customer takes long time talking and others customer waiting long time. Don't waist your value time in this store.

Came in to replace a PS VR2 under warranty. Arrived at 8:50 pm. Gabby (supposedly the manager) was helping another customer. Her other employee asked to leave before the store closed, and she approved it. At 8:55 pm, she walked over to me, told me the computers close at 8:55 and she can't help me. Store closes at 9 pm. Instead of sending her employee home early, she could have made him help me instead. Game stop already lost a majority of its stores. I'm surprised the ones that are left aren't going out of their way to make customers happy and help themselves stay open. This is the LAST product I will ever buy from GameStop. Best Buy and target and Amazon and the PlayStation store are all good enough reasons to avoid GameStop.

I walked in with my girlfriend to look for trading cards. There was an employee guy who was clearly busy helping a customer on the phone, but next to him was another employee girl who was literally just scrolling Instagram and wouldn't acknowledge our existence. I said "hello...? Do you guys have these specific cards?" And she just rolled her eyes at me and nodded "no" without even opening her mouth. Who the hell hired that girl? From now on I'll give my business to Best Buy instead or literally anywhere else. Goodbye GameStop

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with GameStop's service and business practices. I placed an order for a pre-release transformer months ago and later decided to cancel it before the item was shipped. Despite clear communication on my part, GameStop sent the item anyway. Upon contacting them, I was assured that a return shipping label would be provided and a refund processed within 6-7 days of receiving the returned item. However, the refund never came. Multiple calls to GameStop's customer service only led to confusion, misinformation, and outright lies. On August 23rd, I was told that a refund of $48 and some change had been processed to my PayPal account, with a second refund for the remainder to follow. Upon checking with PayPal, I discovered that no refund had been sent. A subsequent call to GameStop revealed that the representative had lied to me, and an exchange was being processed instead of a refund. After extended hold times and multiple conversations with different representatives, I was finally told that a refund for $48 and a second refund for shipping ($8.99) would be processed. However, the math still doesn't add up, as the original charge was $65 and some change. I was informed that the remainder was for fees and taxes, and nothing could be done about that. I am appalled by GameStop's handling of this situation. Charging customers taxes and fees for an item that was never supposed to be sent, and then lying about the refund process, is not only unprofessional but feels like a scam. I strongly urge others to be cautious when dealing with this company, as their business practices are questionable at best.
