Pros: He knows his stuff but rips off.Cons: Very aggressive and demeaning behavior. Has the potential to really grow his business but his approach in talking is what makes it hard to really keep going.I got my car fixed there the first time and he told me the most it would take would be until 4pm and I ended up picking it up at 8pm. I told him I wanted to test the wheel because he had fixed something with the power steering pump area. He had fixed other parts too such as the water pump, serpentine belt (I was a little confused with that part because I had taken it to a previous mechanic to replace that and I was mainly going for the power steering noice but he said they had left pieces of the previous serpentine belt and that the tension also needed fixing). I went along with all he said thinking I should give him the benefit of the doubt. When I said I wanted to test the steering wheel to make sure it wasn’t making noise, he got offended and when I got home I thought that maybe I really had said an offensive thing but my car continued to make noises. I still went back and decided to apologize for asking to test out the steering wheel because he felt I was questioning his mechanic abilities and that I was calling him a liar. So yea I went back and tried to make amends and tried to get him to see the noice and he said it was the power steering pump that it was making noice due to it being an aftermarket one from AutoZone, which I trust that he was right about because I saw myself that the liquid kept rising when he turned the steering wheel. I decided I will get that fixed another time because he didn’t want me getting another aftermarket one from AutoZone and wanted me to get the original. I asked him to fix the O2 sensor (downstream instead). Charged me $70 for labor. When I got there, he said I got the cheapest one from AutoZone. Instead of him looking at the piece before taking down the O2 sensor down, he took it down and then began to argue with me that I wasted his time because the O2 sensor that I got was “used” and was in bad shape when I got the original. I didn’t want to argue so I told him, “Ok can you put the one you took down back so I can go to AutoZone to get the part then and come back here. He said he would charge me $140 then because he did “labor” by taking down the part already and told me, “No me entiendes? Te voy a hablar en ingles” and then proceeded to talk to me in English. So I told him there was no need for all of that and told him fine that I would give him the $70 to avoid him from continuing to be aggressive. I called my dad thinking maybe there was something I misunderstood and that maybe man to man would be better and clear the air. He ended up not charging me $70 for taking down the part and put it again and my dad and I went to AutoZone to get another one instead. Came back and he installed the new one which was the same brand as the previous one. My dad told me to give him $100 just because we didn’t want problems but I’m never going back there. Seems sexist and rude. Good luck to him regardless. Hope he learns that treating people like that won’t get him far.
