A slice of humanity in a bleak suburban environment! If you simply have to be in Santa Clara / San Jose and have no other choices this is a great way to remind yourself of your soul. Music just hits differently when it’s on vinyl or cd, and the fellow customers show that there is life on earth in Silicon Valley. I’m not sure why people complain about service - what do you want for people to become your best friends? This is suburban america ! Just be glad this strip mall has culture ?

Here's my negative review. I arrived to Rasputin, walked in and asked for assistance, was instructed by a female cashier to seek help from another sales clerk. I walked over to other counter and waited in line.
The sales clerk was assisting a customer, and asked if I needed help, I replied yes. Then he said leave my items so he can check them, it will take some time, so come back in 20 mins.
As I began to count my videos to sale and take photos, the male clerk got upset and said it was weird to have me stand at the counter while he assess my items, (I disagreed). I replied, you are rude and your process is strange. I will not do business with you. I also asked, if he was the Store manager, which he replied no, I left. It's terrible how rude people are. This is the customer service industry, what happened to the customary assistance. I refuse to be mistreated. His authority needs to be revoked. I don't do business with obnoxious people. You'll have no choice but to develop a positive attitude, to make money. Here's some free advice, humility goes along way. You diffinately deserve a -1 rating. Rasputin lost a good customer.

It's a huge, great store where you can buy DVDs, CDs, Vinyl, used video games, stylish t-shirts and even resell your old films, music and games for cash back or have greater value in the store.
We also find vintage clothing in the second part, very nice for equipping yourself with another fashion at a generally reasonable price.
I love this store.

I recently found out there is a Rasputin's in this area. I live in.l Hayward and been to the Berkeley one the walnut creek one and my fav (rip) the San Lorenzo one. This one has some things other stores don't and then has almost nothing for other CDs, DVDs . So hit and miss. Staff was eh. Cold indifferent. For the ppl complaining about not getting top dollar for selling. You never do. The store has to make money. You won't get $10 for something worth $10 ?. That's with anywhere though. Never sell to these type of places . Only purchase, $1 CDs $1 DVDs.

Came back for some movie posters and blue rays and we came at a good time. The movies that we have been searching for finally here... the had first dibs and were very excited. Mike was our check out man he was so fun and easy to talk to. Definitely a great idea coming by today. We got the value of our buck

We have a Rasputin's in my hometown of Modesto, and I didn't realize they were a chain until I saw this place. The music shop side was very impressive, having a lot of the older stuff that most music places don't seem to carry. Didn't get music today, but came out with a really cheap Xbox 360 game.

I LOOOVE this place. LOVE it. I don't care how corny it sounds- Rasputin is a piece of my happiness. With sooo many businesses disappearing, this city is no longer what it used to be. It is heartbreaking. Truly. When I thought they shut down I was so upset. Now that they're back , I am so thankful. I play CD's and records and watch DVD's. Rasputin is full of alll types of good stuff! Sometimes I go by and just look through all of the records to see what I can find. Things I forgot about. It is exciting. The best part is knowing there are people who continue to keep this store alive and running. Those who understand that our support is what keeps it there and will continue to. The employees as well. I remember hopping on the bus to go grab a new cd that had just came out. I can still do that but with music I no longer have. Any negative reviews are just meritless. Rasputin is a GEM. Please keep up the support so we can keep this piece of happiness alive and well!!
