I called to confirm our appointment for Thursday with DeeDee and she acted as if she couldn't believe I called and how dare me! I also asked if we can sign outdoors due to Covid concerns, and her response was "It's supposed to rain on Monday." I replied that we are signing on THURSDAY. She responded with "Well, I don't want to be signing papers out in the rain." Snarky attitude noted, DeeDee. So, we'll be taking our business and FEES that we pay to the title company to a different branch. FYI, there's a 3% chance of rain for Thursday, there's a higher % chance of rain as I write this - and it is NOT raining. Way to make excuses so you don't have to actually deal with customers! They get one star because I called at 4:45 pm on a Friday and she picked up the phone. But my guess is that DeeDee won't be making that mistake again!

For a title company they are very shady about their title work! Chicago Title prepared unrecorded grant deeds to transfer ownership between the sellers and other parties while we were in contract and refused to give us copies of the deeds "since they were personal deeds". Jeanie O'Connor kept saying it will be okay, don't worry about it, we record grant deeds to add or remove sellers right at close all the time. The sellers also disclosed in their disclosures that there was a lien on the property for a Code Violation with the county but it was addressed. The preliminary title report dated August 16th and prepared by Jeanie O'Connor didn't include the matter so we thought it was resolved. It was never disclosed to my buyer or myself that it was not resolved from title until the listing agent slipped up and mentioned to me 2 business days before the close of escrow that she had to run down to the county and get the lien cleared herself. They also refused to close because they waited until 2 days before the close of escrow to check the Statement of Information for my buyer against liens and judgement and some potential matches were found. Only when I told them that the buyer is due a courtesy credit for their late handling of the title work that they let the file close with some affidavits from the buyer. I can't figure out for the life of me why agents or clients ever chose to work with this corporation!

THIS is the best title company I've used in my 20 year career. Specifically Jeanie O'Connor is hands down, THE BEST Escrow Officer I've EVER worked with. She knows what she is doing and she has saved my clients thousands of dollars and even tens of thousands of dollars on some transaction because of her expertise and experience. In a difficult situation I am always SO grateful to have Ms. O'Connor. She's with me through thick and thin. Her pricing is also no garbage, she is minimal, yet, full service. I would highly recommend Jeanie O'Connor and Chicago Title Company

This title company is really terrible. They don't even worth a star. I lost my photo ID and forgot to bring my passport when signing and the officer insulted me over the phone to the notary.... very disrespectful and never want to work with them again.

Tami is TERRIBLE!!!!! I flip houses here in the Bay Area. And decide to use this company simply because it is close my house I need to sell. Tami's attitude is a very UN-trustful and distant. Completely useless escrow agent.

With Lynn Cogliandro, "IT ISN'T JUST LIP SERVICE" when it comes to doing a phenomenal, awesome service. The whole time we were in Escrow, she kept us updated, keeping us (and we all know how Realtors are) on our toes with constant follow-up. She was on top of her "A" game the whole time. It did help that we received an All Cash Offer, but besides the point, Lynn was ultra diligent, very thorough & her follow-ups were 2nd to none. At the day of the sign-off, when my client had a busy schedule, she went out of her way to meet us at the office to sign-off. In short, she not only went the extra mile, she went way, above & beyond & went 8 miles, literally & figuratively. What more can you ask for from an Escrow Officer. Thank you, Lynn.

ZERO communications until one day before closing, even though initial deposit is made one month ago. In the last minute they tell you to bring cashier's check, and if not, they threaten to delay the closing-- Rude, mean, not understanding.

This location title company was selected for my refinance. Prior closing communication was OK. I asked Leila not to use mobile notary for saving cost. But it was ordered without asking and charged. Extra $100 cost for mobile notary was not really present. Transaction was respectably cleaner compared from some other title company that charges for email fee and fax fee. But it left some disappointment at signing. === Update as of April 3, 2015 After the communication, the difference of the cost has refunded. It was done very professionally. Thank you very much.

Avoid this branch of Chicago Title at all costs! The manager handled an ALL CASH escrow for me and bungled it in so many ways. When I asked for a copy of my documents, she refused to give it to me, claiming confidentiality (uh?!%&*?) and then claiming they have a green no paper policy. Fine, but when a paper copy is needed, it's needed. They wouldn't even send me an email file. I've bought and sold over 20 properties and have never encountered such incompetence. Every time I tried to talk to Kelly, the manager, her attitude was demeaning, argumentative and unhelpful. Go anywhere else. Can't believe Chicago Title allows this branch to operate this way and ruin their good name.

Slow, sloppy, rude... not how you'd want to describe your title company. However, this is how I'd describe this branch (Amanda Duran and Rosalie Fields, anyway) of Chicago Title. They were slow to provide the preliminary title report to my lender, so the appraisal order was delayed. They included the incorrect legal description in the title report they asked me to sign (even after the mistake had been caught by my excellent real estate agent in the preliminary report.) They acted as if we were making it up that it was wrong, and as if we were imposing upon them when we questioned it. Then, when they finally did correct the legal description, their "corrected" transcription of the surveyor's report was full of typographical errors, such as "Wast", "othe" and "Sourtherly". In addition, they asked us to sign the wrong version of a different form. I mean, this is an expensive purchase, people! You want to get it right! I don't want to have to deal with a claim that I don't have clear title to the driveway and garage! Isn't that what a title company is supposed to be good for?

I purchased my home in March 15th, of 2009. Leila was very helpful.. however, she went on maternity leave and handed my file over to Marilyn Fortres who some how forgot to have the title recorded accurately. A month later I realize the copy from the recorders office has not arrived adding my partners name to the title. Can you imagine working a lifetime saving to purchase a home and find out your name has NOT been included on the title????????? April 22nd, after contacting Chicago Title I was informed the file went to storage so I wait.. I call Lynell Kirk, the supervisor and leave a message requesting her assistance ..no response.. .. I contact Marilyn again and again.. April 27th, she informs me the file has been retrieved from storage, apologizes profusely and assures me she will send me an email copy after the title has been recorded.. NEXT WEEK..... hmmm .. MAY 21 .. it's been over two months since we purchased this home .. I sent Marilyn an email last Friday.. she assured me she would get back to me Monday.. It's now Thursday.. DO NOT USE THIS TITLE COMPANY.. .. I am appalled by their lack of follow through and substandard level of service. .. I have email's documenting this chain of events.. wish me luck.. hopefully I'll see a recorded copy of my title one day from this company.. I am contacting the recorder's office my self to confirm this was completed correctly
