Good selection of products.Basically all you need for basic grocery. But you gotta be extremely careful and check things out.Meats often smell.Fruits are almost always rotten. And yesterday I noticed a lot of mold in the fridge (Shelfs) where they store dairy products.Employes are very friendly but from my own experience it's kinda stressful.I like to bag my own stuff When I already pay 200+$ for my groceries I will rather safe those $10 to tip a bagger so I will do it myself also because I like to do it.I always shop with my babies so I also know how to bag my stuff so I dont have thousands of bags and 3 items in it.And my kids still fit in my cart when done shopping. Some Cashiers seems like they don't like it so they will give you weird looks and out of nowhere the bagger will show up and start helping even if you don't ask for it and you perfectly fine.I got it they want to get people out of there so someone else can tip the baggers I guess. But no when mother comes shopping there with children and they just stress tf out of you. What is this Olympics?I come there minimum 2 times a week because the food doesn't last long and I'm ok with it but If I have to use baggers every time that would be $50 a week. And hell nah because of some rude individuals I'm not gonna start shoping off base.Husband in service 24 years and as any military spouse We deserve to be treated nicely and with patience.Military spouse life already stressful so they need to leave the people tf alone to do they own things.

Has basic things that all other commissaries have. Lines are not too bad and quantity of goods on the shelves are sufficient. The inside is clean and well managed. I only used the self checkout so hardly had any interactions with the staff. I would recommend using this facility to purchase groceries.

Shelves are not stocked as well as Mira Mar, possibly because of the sheer volumn here?. Can't beat the prices on many items for Marines with a tight budget. The Freedom's Choice brands are a great break on prices. Fruits and veggies are often a bit cheaper . . . But check buying items by the pound not in prepackaged units (always a few cents less this way).

The commissary has everything you need to stay on base and continue living at home. Some prices are higher than out in town some are lower due to the no tax on the items. There is a surcharge on groceries now and there is CRV just like the rest of the state. You can special order meat from the butcher section and order ethnic food for your dishes. Some cashiers are nice others look like they are ready to get orders...lol..

Overall a good store. They may not have some of the brands you're used to but I'm sure you'll find anything you'd expect in a civilian grocery store. My only gripes are the baggers. I appreciate their help but they work on tips. I never carry cash and sometimes I pay with a credit card. I didn't realize that at first and left without tipping. But I do bag my own groceries when I don't have cash. And I think they get upset when I do, but they gave me the option so I took it. I am concerned about the people here who don't seem to have an affiliation to the military. Why are there illegals shopping here? The last review was in Spanish. Imagine the nerve of being an illegal and then thinking you're entitled to set foot on a military base. There was even a group of three suspicious clowns walking around speaking Spanish. WTF?!? They need better security and ID checks.

Meat was sell by date of 08/16/23 and was cooking the day I bought it on 08/14/23. It’s color was fine but it smelled of ammonia. It had spoiled. Called to talk to management and meat section and neither answered for two days in a row with several times calling. I am so incredible disappointed with them.

Lots of marines graduating weekly. Very motivating. Making of marines at its finest. Small training facility. Have exchanges with cool gear.

We are staying in Oceanside and decided we needed a few items for the last few days of our trip. This commissary was easy to get to from Oceanside and had all we needed.

Better commissary than 29 palms, but there is a funky smell in the hot foods corner, which is concerning. I enjoyed the foreign goods section.
