A delightful experience that surpassed our expectations. During our family road trip to southern California, we chose this hotel for an overnight stay. The room impressed with its cleanliness and ample space, while the fireplace provided extra comfort on the winter night. The charming touch of a breakfast basket outside our room added sweetness to our stay. We opted to take it across the street, taking a simple yet satisfying breakfast while enjoying the view of the waves. However, a minor improvement could be made regarding the coffee service. The front desk coffee isn't available until 8 am, which, in my opinion, is a bit late for travelers. Additionally, the in-room coffee option resembles a tea bag and falls short compared to freshly brewed coffee.Despite this, I'm looking forward to return in future for another stay. If the coffee service could start at 7 am, aligning with the majority of hotels, it would definitely improve the overall experience.

Great location for the Holiday lights during the Xmas festival in Cambria. Was super nice to have a shuttle that picked you up right at the hotel & was for hotel guests only. Room was on beach side & was great. Pool was heated (not hot enough) but hot-tub was nice. There's fire pits outside the pool area as well and overall had a good stay. The breakast options while small were good and came each morning we stayed. Would stay at again as there were no real downfalls to our stay. Staff was friendly and said Hi when walking by or answering questions in the office. No complaints. The only con (if it's a con) is there's nothing around (you have to go into Cambria) for any sort of general needs. There's little to eat along the stretch of hotels so as long as you plan ahead it's not too bad. Breakfast options are almost none (thankfully you do get a breakfast) but it consisted of Burrito's or Yougurt. Lunch/Dinner is much easier to find & downtown Cambria is only a quick 5 minute or less drive from hotel. A major plus was ease of communication. We were arriaving late and worked through text messages with staff to get code to room and such. That was a major help as staff leaves at 9 & we were going to be past that on our way up. Was nice to have a text system that worked.

Great location with clean rooms. Amazing views of Moonstone Beach. Staff was friendly and breakfast choices were all good. Only con was the loud pocket door--I would install a handle. They had coffee for the guests in the office but would be nice to be able to make it in the room. Otherwise a great place to stay.

Beautifull room with a good brakefast delivered directly to the room. In addition you have a little private Backyard. We really appreviated our stay in this Quiet INN for one night. You have just to cross the road and you stay in front of the sea.

I will definitely stay again! The location and amenities are awesome. A great place to unwind and refresh. The downtown area offered many options for shopping and eating. The Nursery and the local landscape are very diverse in their offerings.

Staying at Sea Otter Inn was just what we needed! We had another trip go sideways with the RV company we rented with (Indie Campers, never rent from them!) running our entire trip. Since we already took the time off we decided to drive up the coast and found this little gem. Not only is it adorable, right across from the walkway along the coast, it was affordable and the staff was amazing! Our room was clean and comfortable, while the water pressure left a little to be desired we otherwise loved our room and the space we had. On top of it, I wasn't able to have the breakfast basket they typically deliver to your door because I'm a celiac, so instead of just not giving it to us the manager allowed us to get complimentary breakfast at their sister hotel. This was something they didn't need to do at all and is one of those things (as someone who would get seriously ill if I had gluten) I can't appreciate enough.

Honestly great location. Perfect for the quiet getaway. The rooms are charming with a nice little back patio. The fireplace is basically your heater and turns on and off overnight, quite loudly might I add. The beds left a lot to be desired, quite firm with some springs, a memory foam topper or some extra padding would have gone a long way. Our shower was missing its door, weird but it was still OK to use. I'd come back if the beds were replaced. Service was great. The breakfast was charming. No coffee in the rooms, they had hot water and coffee in tea bags, not that great.Overall decent stay, only thing really retracting from it was the beds. Would be 4 stars if the beds weren't so bad.Rooms: Rooms are cute but the beds are very firm, if you're not used to that you're in for a rough night. No coffee machines and our shower lacked a door.Walkability: Moonstone Beach boardwalk is close.

If I could give more then 5 stars I would. It was our first time staying here and I'm glad we did. Usually we stay in Morro Bay but we decided to switch it up. We checked in online very easy and it was so simple When we arrived we literally just popped in the office for our code to get in the room that's it!! The guy at the desk was beyond nice and greeted us with a smile! The king bed room with patio was gorgeous clean and well maintained. We instantly turned the fireplace on. We filled out our breakfast card and hung it on the door. Walked to the beach literally steps away . Back at the room ordered pizza and chilled in our private patio. Next day you need to request house keeping . Also if I had to say something could have been better welp the coffee taste like water But there are dozens of coffee places in town. We woke up to a basket hanging on our door the best burrito! Orange juice so filling and literally it was a surprise how much we loved it and couldn't wait to the next morning to have another! The bed was comfortable it was so quiet much needed. They also have a/c in the room. The second manager that was there he was super nice. Again great place will stay again and again in a few months . Thank you Sea Otter Inn !!!

Location is very good as the motel is situated across from the beach with very easy access. Room was clean. The bathrooms need a total renovation. Wooden toilet seats! The shower looks difficult to clean and sanitize. Beds were comfortable. Quiet sleeping atmosphere. For 300 plus a night my expectations were not met.

Had a Wonderful time staying at the Sea Otter! The room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful, and hearing the sound of the ocean from our patio while having morning coffee was a perfect way to start the day!

My family and I were supposed to stay at the Sea Otter Inn on Friday, September 8, 2023. After checking in, we discovered that our room was horribly dirty and there was no way we were going to sleep there. We ended up not staying at the hotel because the room was so dirty. There were crumbs along the TV stand, the rug between beds had crumbs and stains, the shower/bathroom was dirty, and the floor was sticky. We immediately went back into the office and told the gentleman at the front desk about the issue. He apologized and told me he would mention it to housekeeping. He never offered us a different room, a walk through to see our issue, or an offer to switch rooms. When I asked about a refund, he told me to go through Hotels.com. I later found out that Hotels.com had nothing to do with it since we paid the Sea Otter directly. I was told I should contact Angel, the manager. After several days, I did hear back from Angel, but he was rude and dismissive. Although I do understand that different people have different standards of cleanliness. My biggest issue is that when I brought up the issue with the front desk attended, he NEVER offered to give us another room or have it cleaned again. It was as if this happened all the time! And when I spoke to Angel, he basically called me a liar, told me that his employee did offer me another room, and I denied it. That NEVER happened. I have gone to upper management via several emails and several voice mails, practically begging someone to call me back. After several days I finally received an email back but still have never spoken to an actual person like I requested. Via emailing with the Director of Marketing & Communications, I was told that I would be receiving 50% back from the original charge. I was very happy with that! However I ended up receiving less than a third of my original charges. I questioned that and was told that's all they could do. Why even tell me you're giving me 50% back?! This has been the most unprofessional group of people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. And I will never be dealing with the Sea Otter Inn or any Moonstone Hotels Property again!
