“If you’re looking for a place on beautiful Moonstone Beach on the Central California coast, I highly suggest Windrush Inn. We had a family reunion with 10 people to celebrate a milestone birthday and we rented the entire property. Recently renovated, this property is beautiful and luxurious and fresh. Amazing views of the boardwalk and ocean are incredible.

Minutes away from Hearst Castle and the elephant seals. A quick ride to numerous local wineries. An incredible property in an incredible area.
This was my third visit here and can’t wait till the next.

Oh, if you’re lucky, you’ll catch a rocket launch from Vandenberg.”

“Love the fire pit out back, and definitely don’t miss the happy hour. They have tea and coffee available pretty much all the time. The rooms were nice and big. Also it’s a great location, you’re walking distance to some great restaurants. The only complaint I have were the flies or mats that hanging out all over the common area where they serve the drinks. I so badly wanted to find a vacuum, or get some hair spray so I could get rid of them.”

“Parking..this is a very good reason to chose this hotel. The location in an area of downtown Cambria where parking is a problem. No its not next to the beach but trust me, you can find easy parking at the beach, not so much in this area. Easy walk to a nice hiking trail, the French corner bakery and a Mexican food truck with a huge long line because it has the best rolled tacos you will ever have. Plus close to Linns, which is good but seriously, try that Mexican food place.

The room we stayed it was very clean, well set up and had a very nice breeze at night. Quiet and peaceful once the town shuts down and we enjoyed listening to coyotes howling late at night. I would highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay in a very good location.”

“My wife and I stayed here for two nights on a recent PCH trip. We loved our room and the breakfast was excellent. It is a slightly different experience in that there are no hotel staff on-site so all communication is through text, phone or email. Once we understood that, we were fine as the responsiveness was excellent - but I can understand this would bother some people. Breakfast is delivered outside your door in a basket which we enjoyed in our room but there was also a common area with chairs/tables on the first floor if one wanted to eat there. Coffee and drinking water tank were also on the first floor with CC cookies every evening. This is a B&B so you will hear the people in the room next to you - the interior walls have no sound insulation. Fortunately they were quiet and we tried to return the favor. We typically use a white noise app on our phones when traveling which helps but I notice they had provided one plus foam ear buds to help with neighbor noise. The weather was awesome in June so we were able to leave the back window open with the sound of a water fountain outside which was lovely. The King bed was very comfortable as was the bathroom and shower. Would recommend to others with the above expectations.
You'll most likely want to drive to town as the street there is narrow/hilly with no walking path; however we did notice there is a set of stairs down the hill across the street at the back of a small community so it appeared walking to town was possible if using that path/stairs.
Cambria is a cute small town with plenty of good restaurants for a short stay - we would recommend Linn's restaurant and bakery based on our experience.”

“My husband and I are enjoying this lovely little Inn at the edge of the quaint town of Cambria: clean, comfortable and affordable. Best of all is the creek which bursts full of life as the Sun sets. A lullaby of songs by what seemed to be thousands of happy frogs was most comforting.

Safety: Secure rooms

Walkability: Walk to downtown where a plethora of friendly little shops greet you.

Food & drinks: A bit of everything for everyone!”

“Absolutely loved this gem of a hotel overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Cambria. We had an oceanfront room with a small patio, which was lovely for eating our delivered breakfast each morning. Other thoughtful touches included a lap blanket (just for the patio) and binoculars. Comfortable room, large bathroom, water, coffee, fridge, all the comforts!”

“I stayed here with my boyfriend for a quick weekend getaway! it's super cute! we had the cottage right in front and had 2 chairs right in front overlooking the ocean, where we sat and read, and enjoyed a bottle of wine. The cottage was cozy and the bathroom is quite spacious! The breakfast delivery in the AM was an extra touch that was appreciated. The only tricky part is parking - it can get quite narrow so I recommend being careful when pulling the car out. Other than that, I highly recommend staying at the Moonstone Cottages the next time you and your +1 are visiting Cambria!”

“Modern three star hotel along the Cambria coast with wonderful views. Rooms have fireplaces and are adequately sized. Modern amenities and tasteful coast inspired decor. Service is efficient and professional. Layout is very simple straight grid of three wings and ample parking is provided. Definitely a pleasant and relaxing place to stopover during our Pacific Coast roadtrip last June 2024.

Rooms: Rooms are one single level with ease of access. Standard room with generous space. Fireplace is a nice touch.

Nearby activities: Along the coastal road near the main village of Cambria which is around 5 minutes by car. The coastal promenade is just across the street. Within the property is a communal lounge room with free coffee and tea and is a leisure place for games, meals or just to lounge around. Lounge room also has access to the medium sized hotel pool.

Safety: Cambria village is quiet and secluded with a small population.

Walkability: Nearby coast is a goot place to hike, stroll and jog. There is also a nearby park. Most nearby cafes and restaurants are along the same stretch.

Food & drinks: No inhouse f&b offering but meals are accessible at the coastal road or the main village”

“The rooms here were amazing. Right across the street from the beach. We had the breakfast basket delivered to our room and the coffee and pastries were amazing. The second night there we had drinks and appetizers in the lobby. The charcuterie and grilled cheese were delicious. The staff was friendly and really took care of us. We will definitely be back!”

“Stayed here for part of my 60th birthday week and really enjoyed everything. Wonderful front desk staff, and beautiful room. Very cozy. Loved the little, electric fire place with a variety of light ambiance. Would have liked more light in the bathroom. It was hard to do my make-up but other than that it was perfect. We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. Everything was delicious, fresh and plentiful. Very polite servers. Lastly, we loved the walkability of the property. Lovely view and a very rustic environment. Thank you for an amazing stay. We plan to visit again.”

“Rooms: The room was spectacular it was very spacious and the bed was the most comfortable one I've slept on.Walkability: The moonstone restaurant was literally the neighbor, not even a min walk more like 30 secs walk. The beach was right out front.Food & drinks: The moonstone restaurant was great. Food was really delicious. I'd recommend trying their cove scampi as well as their clam chowder.”

“This inn was cute as it reminded me of a little cottage. It is located right across the ocean. The setup was very similar to the other inn we stayed at when we were at Pismo Beach as they were part of the same hotel group. This inn does need a little bit of an update. The lamp handle on the desk was broken and couldn’t turn on. But they were able to replace it with a new one. There is a small fridge and microwave inside. The water in the tub took a long while to drain. I think the tub and the pocket door needs an update. Otherwise everything else was okay.Parking was right in front of our room and there were some tables and a fire pit in the middle of the property. There is only one person at the front desk and they usually take a lunch break. If you walk right across the street, there is a boardwalk where you can walk along the ocean. Great location! Cell phone Reception is horrible there.”
