One of many motels on the strip close to the Moonstone beach. It has a pool and nice spa, standard room. We stayed there in the Thanksgiving week and they had a construction ongoing for almost every day. Reception conveniently didn't bother to let us know. We had workers passing by our room and limiting our privacy. Management didn't care, refused to move us to another room. Very bad value. Wouldn't stay here again, guests aren't a priority for them.

The location and the charm is this Inn was wonderful. However, there was NO heater, it was 41°outside! Thank Heavens they had a gas fireplace! We had to run it all night just to keep the area around the bed warm. The rest of the room and bathroom and living area was freezing!

Right across from Moonstone Beach, you can hear the waves. Rooms were nice with fireplaces and lots of room. The rates were great for cyber Monday. Lots of convenient room service items. Nearby Cambria for shopping and food. They were doing construction which was a little noisy, but hey gotta work when you can. Nice pool and hot tub.

Very nice and large king room we stayed in. It was pretty quiet and the ocean was right across the street. Beautiful views. The only thing that wasn't very good was the bed. Way to soft of a mattress. The mattress could have been firmer. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.Walkability: You could walk across the street and take a beautiful walk on the wooden path along the ocean.

Had a reservation for this coming weekend Nov 3-5. Went home early today (11/1)due to being ill and we will not be making out trip for this weekend. Called the hotel at 5pm to cancel for the weekend and they still want to charge 1 night because I didn’t call by 3pm. No grace allowed in the policy. Don’t stay here. Not helpful at all. Paid $300 for nothing. I didn’t expect for us to get sick. Have some grace in your policies. It was 2 hours after the 3pm cut off time… it’s not like I tried to cancel the day of. Borderline scam, cold employees.

So disappointed with our recent stay. We were here many years ago and really enjoyed our visit but things have gone downhill. My husband called making our reservations and specifically asked for a room with a patio. We were assured we would get one. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we didn’t get one - there are only 2 rooms with patio and they were booked. Ok, we resigned ourselves to this. We were assigned room 101, which does face the ocean. However when you look out the bedroom window, all you see are sand bags (?) and a ladder on the ground. All the tabletop surfaces had dust on them, along with the bedroom heating vent.We received a text before our arrival asking if we wanted daily housekeeping and we responded that we did. They confirmed we would get daily service. When we checked in we again verified we would get daily service. The staff said they only did housekeeping every 3 days. We told them we had requested daily and she noted it. The room did get serviced. When we left for day the 2nd day, we made sure to stop by the front desk letting them know they could clean. We returned around 4 pm and the room wasn’t cleaned. Front desk says the only note they had was to clean yesterday. Housekeeping had already left so we had to lug back fresh towels, more coffee, empty trash.I know we sound picky but we encountered another guest and she said she was a frequent guest here and service has gone down. Said her room didn’t look vacuumed- found a used bandage on the floor.The living room couch needs to be replaced - the seat cushions are flat and uncomfortable.On the plus side, the bed was fine and the fireplace works well.

We switched hotels last minute and this turned out to be such a pleasant surprise! We came from Utah for our 5 year anniversary and was welcomed by a room upgrade and bottle of wine. We had 3 oceanfront windows, The location is great with a beautiful view and walk across the street with access to the beach as well as the boardwalk. The staff was very friendly and the room was great. The bed and sheets are super comfy. I noticed cars parked all in front of the other hotels but this one wasn't overly crowded like the rest were. It does have some dated characteristics and rough edges but nothing major and we would happily stay again and look forward to bringing our kids. I'd rate this hotel great for couples and families. One of my boys uses a wheelchair and I think this is a place we could still get around and enjoy the boardwalk and pool easily. The picture I included of our room view does no justice so keep that in mind as well.

This was our first visit to Cambria and we were excited when we drove in with our views of the ocean. We headed to Fog Catcher Inn, with a recommendation from my sister. The room we stayed in was wonderful. We could see and hear the ocean from our room. We also could walk across the street and down to the beach. It was so calming and our 11 year old granddaughter loved it

Great location, great rooms. Super clean. Walking distance to restaurants and the beach walk way. Can’t go wrong with this inn. Best hotel/location we stayed at along our highway 1 road trip.

Location is 10/10. Rooms do seem a little outdated. One of the blinds was broken in the living room so we couldn’t put it up properly and the screen was missing. The window in the bedroom opened in a way it wasn’t suppose to so it was a hassle to put back and we couldn’t use it during our stay. The couch also definitely needs to be replaced. The restroom though was very nice, it looked recently done compared to the rest of the room and it had good water pressure. Comfy bed and nice sheets was also a plus. We also took advantage of the pool, it’s super warm and the view of the ocean is just a little ways away. Also lots of parking! Overall we didn’t have any issues with noice or anything like that so I’d say we had a pleasant stay. The location makes up for everything!

I found to be a very nice hotel if desired to be close to a great costal walking area. Although the hotel showed its age at times, it was clean and well maintained. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, the staff nice, good communication by Fogcatcher before the stay. Fireplace was a nice touch to remove some of the dampness cause by the ocean across the street. Lots of nice places to eat and shop in nearby Cambria, Ca. Check-in staff was great.

Great view of Moonstone Beach and Boardwalk. In a row of walkable tourist services including several great restaurants, one of which provides room service to the Inn. Highly recommend the king suite with a fireplace, separate living area, and wonderful views right from the unit itself.

Motel is located in a pretty area. Cross the street and the beach is right there. The rooms are pricey. The rooms are outdated and need some upgrades. The front desk was very friendly so I rated them high. Probably would not stay here again due to price and room condition.

The folks at the office were friendly and helpful. The pool area was clean. A gentleman was replenishing towels while we were there. The location is perfect. We loved the fire pits and comfortable cushioned seating as well as the bench and table just outside our room with a view of the ocean. Parking was always available. The grounds were free of any litter and dog waste. As dog owners ourselves, we are sensitive to that. Our room had a good-sized fridge as well as a very nice fireplace and extremely comfortable bed. Excellent experience!Noteworthy details: Pet-friendly!

Kind and welcoming front desk. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms at a very affordable price for this area. Peaceful, and pretty views of the sea. Exceptionally comfortable bed! We will definitely be back. ❤️
