Wonderful older hotel completely renovated with spacious room. Beautiful rocky beach that's picture perfect. For older people recommend a cane or hiking sticks to navigate the rocks, some of which are large.

Staff was kind and the location was amazing. The water pressure was horrible. At times the hot water would just stop due to lack of pressure. The bed also was very small. The staff informed me it was a motel king at check out but when I completed a survey regarding my stay the manager reached out and told me it was a regular king and all they have at the location are king and queens. I asked her if my room was a king and she said it was a traditional king. This seems impossible because I am only around 5’4” and I was taller than the bed was wider. I also sleep in a king every night and that definitely wasn’t it. The mystery bed, I guess? I got a good deal on the room because I stayed midweek but don’t know if I would stay at full price. The location was truly amazing there are a few others right next to it you might want to check out before booking.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Fireside Inn. We had a partial view of the ocean from the room but could sit outside on our patio for full view. The King room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom also had plenty of space, but water pressure was a little iffy. You could walk to other hotels and tasting rooms along Moonstone Beach. The beach was right across the street.Rooms: We had a King with a partial view and the room was very spacious. The view was wonderful. We could sit outside on the small patio and see the ocean.Walkability: You could walk across the street to access the boardwalk along the ocean. You could walk to Moonstone Grill, but I can only recommend the drinks; food, not so much.

If I could give this place no stars I would! We booked a room the day before we were going to come and then heard a huge storm came in and that a national advisory for high tide and coastal flood warning was issued. A few of my friends sent me videos of very bad flooding and waves that were going well into the boardwalk, so obviously a dangerous situation. I called and spoke to the receptionist and she told me I could cancel but that I should want until the next day so to see if it would get better and that I could still cancel if it was bad. Well the next day came and it was worse than the day before so we decided to cancel so I called and a different receptionist, Sherry, told me I could not cancel and the other receptionist was wrong. I asked why I was told that and she was extremely rude and said it didn't matter what she said but their policy is 48 hours for cancellation (even though I just booked the day before) no matter how bad the weather. I hung up obviously upset and my husband decided to call and speak to a manager, he did not get his name but he was very rude and said that we could not cancel and it did not matter what we were told. He then offended my husband by saying I was rude to his worker when in fact she was rude to me so they then got into a heated argument. After they hung up the manager called me back and told me he would be charging me and that we could no longer come and laughed. When I told him I would be calling corporate he said he didn't care and that we could no longer stay at the hotel and we would be getting charged anyways and laughed again. I have never ever had an experience like this and it seriously blows my mind that they would have a manager act this way. I do not recommend staying at this hotel when there are so many better options in the city!

We were absolutely thrilled with our accommodations; the rooms were notably spacious, offering a bounty of towels and complimentary coffee/tea, which we greatly appreciated. The luxury of an in-room bath and pool access was the cherry on top of our stay. Practical amenities like the dispensers for shampoo and body wash were small but significant conveniences. Stepping out to an ocean view and being right at the boardwalk's doorstep elevated our experience to spectacular. The Cow Tipper became our go-to breakfast spot within walking distance, and the proximity to Hearst Castle, just an 11-minute drive, was perfect for our sightseeing plans, with downtown’s bustling scene only 4 minutes away by car.The highlight, however, was the hotel’s concierge service; upon deciding to extend our stay, they seamlessly transitioned us to a new room at 11 am, sparing us the inconvenience of a typical check-out and later check-in process. Their flexibility and eagerness to accommodate us without the hassle of waiting added an extra layer of ease to our extended vacation. A special thanks to Maria!

The most unfriendly stuff I encounter in my life. I'm traveling everywhere in the world and never encounter a manager who is so lazy and rode. Got kicked out, escorted by the Sherrife because the manager couldn't solve a kea that didn't work. I'm your Geust, and you treat me badly. You don't love your work or people. Move on.

A really nice hotel. The rooms are really modern. Beds are very comfy. Lovely place to enjoy sunset. Tip: there are only 2 restaurants in walking distance and they both only take cash, and they operate a first come first served basis so people are queuing hours before they open. Also, no wine glasses available so take your own.
