Terrible union, first lets start with the fact that they ask you to pay a ridiculous sign up fee on top of the amount taken from every paycheck oh and don’t worry if you switch companies and they’re under the same union you STILL have to pay another sign up fee, Secondly your benefits from being under this useless union is like I just said useless but the discounts on park tickets makes up for it am I right. Lastly, people wonder why there is a shortage of employees in ventura and oxnard they’re scaring all the young workers away. highly encourage people to not work for any company under these sorry excuse of a union. Paying money in order to work.

Do you have to work 40 hours to get trained in different departments yes or no. Because I asked my store manager if I can get trained in different departments she said you have to work 40 hours to get trained is that true yes or no. I work at vons for 5YEARS now just a bagger and a checker only.

Went to support a friend. Lady kept trying to give a union pitch. I interrupted her to try and get some answers and she told me I was not welcome at her table and that I had to leave. I do not trust this office.

A lot of the policies and benefits have changed here. Even the more helpful and friendly staff has gone and retired and the few that are left can’t do much to help you because of the changes that have occurred. At this point it’s almost better to just work for a company with low benefits rather than go work for union. A lot of the time you’ll be laid off for months and they don’t even try to rush to find you a new job and the unemployment check is a joke. Much of the higher ups look down on minority groups and from the looks of it, it seems that the staff is almost told to treat you as lesser in the same way. You won’t be respected here or helped, go somewhere else. The policies and benefits they will offer you now will dissipate over the years and in the end you won’t get much. It’s not worth it... honestly the only reason I give it two stars is for the last few staff that really do care and wish to help you. Good luck to all who wish to work for a good union, even the unions aren’t helping the minorities now.
