When I was packing my room up back in May I didn't plan on getting a storage unit; but when my car decided to stop running I was forced to spend my uhaul / moving funds on repairs which took most of my savings. Needing a solution to hold onto my belongings, I began looking into storage units online; I was fortunate to find citizens storage. They had 1 units large enough to hold all of my furniture & boxes available, allowed a 24 hour reservation without fee, plus offered a huge discount on the first month of rent. I enjoyed that the location was just off the freeway but down the road far enough that there wasn't much traffic. Jonah, the manager, was kind & personable as he showed me the available unit in person. After viewing we returned to the office where we went over the forms & he explained the terms of the agreement, which allowed me to confidently sign the contract. I started moving my stuff in that day, & was able to stack & fit everything in perfectly. I had just enough money from the remainder of my savings to afford the gas necessary to get back to Oregon & pay for the unit rental for 5 months before I was able to return to reattempt bringing it up north with me. Grateful for citizen storage for keeping my belongings safe, & Jonah for being a friendly face whenever I was on the property.

Citizen storage did a great thing…they hired Jonah Quire. They finally hired someone that takes his job seriously and truly cares about what goes on and about the customer.
We‘ve been storing our trailer here for awhile. We‘ve had some issues and past staff couldn’t care less! Our trailer was hit not once but three times.
Two of those times were in the last couple of months. Thank goodness Jonah is there now! The person that hit our trailer went to Jonah and Jonah contacted us right away with the info… but not only that… we were pretty upset and Jonah didn’t just shrug us off like past staff did…he came up with different solutions and also kept his eye out for another space for us.
Today he called us to let us know a different spot is coming available. He didn’t just call me to let me know…he text me pictures of the spot with different angles so we didn’t have to go down to see it.
Jonah is super nice and friendly. We thought about leaving until they hired Jonah. He’s quite an asset and I hope Citizens notices!

My son paid to reserve a unit, they were supposed to close at 5:30, he got there at 5:15, he had called ahead and they were supposed to have the paperwork ready for him to sign. They were closed when he got there at 5:15. He had a moving truck that had to be returned the next day at 8 o'clock. We were unable to return the moving truck so he had to pay for another day which was $180. We showed up at the storage unit at 10am to drop off the belongings and no one was there and they had a sign on the door that said closed for the rest of the day. We tried calling their office phone number and no one answered, the message had an emergency number to call. We called the emergency number and left a message and after 3 hours no one called us back. We had to find a new place to take his belongings. We are trying to get our deposit back.Edit: I finally got ahold of them on Monday morning, no one ever called us back. We had to call them. The man on the phone said they are no longer open on Sundays and the employee went home early on Saturday because they were sick, but no one called to let us know. They did say we would get our refund back, but we are still out the fee for keeping the moving truck an extra day. The did not include the gas it took to drive a moving truck there twice only to find out no one was there. The emergency number was useless, they never answered or called back, they never responded to my email or my facebook message.

What type of business is this? You send 2 x email messages on their website get a automated response back. That the storage unit I am interested in there is a required $25 deposit hold fee, and to contact them regarding arranging the holding for the unit. So after 2 email messages 5 x calling their business line directly listed in their website and google search, I still have yet to get a live person to speak to directly and here we are day 3 . You would think if you want new business you would promptly get back to your new prospects. If you cant even call back newer customers for your business, what else are you lacking with your established long term customers.

Christine the manager is a wonderful person she is kind and compassionate but also professional. The grounds are immaculate and I feel very safe when I'm there.

Who ever said they had great customer service ... I wish I had the same experience. I requested a space for an RV and the space given was extremely small. Keep in mind the RV is attached to a truck in order to park it . NO WAY this was big enough. We drove from Long Beach to Camarillo and when asked for a refund we were told" her husband would of fit it and hung up" what kind of customer service is that? why would their mistake be our fault and not get a full refund? PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH before renting here. I would give it 0 stars!!! very disappointed almost customer

I tried to move into this facility and the spot was too small because there was a container in the spot assigned next to me, I had to give a $50 deposit to hold and charged $140 on move in.When I arrived to move in the young man at the desk moved me in and asked me to measure the trailer. He could not measure the trailer because I did not have it with me.I returned the next day to park it and the container disturbed the pivot point and a small car next to it wouldn't allow me in because I would hit it.When I called to explain the situation Christina was very rude and told me that I would only get $123 dollars back because her husband was a truck driver and he could get it in and i didn't know how to drive and it was my fault I couldn't get it in.She also explained to me that that $140 and $50 equal $123And I was trying to get an extra $50 out of the deal (absurd) I just wanted the original amount back.

Citizens storage customer service department needs improvement. My credit card which is used for automatic monthly payments expired and as a courtesy one would expect a call/text/email from them to ask for an update. Instead I received a Preliminary Lien Notice charging me a $20. late fee and a $15. Pre-lien fee. I called right away and asked that the late/lien fees be reversed as this was the first notice I had of the issue with the card. Christina told me that she could not make the adjustment and that the Corporate Office had to authorize it. She told me Bill from Corporate would call me. I am still waiting for that call. I also sent an email to which I received no reply. After waiting four days for Corporate to call I called Christina again, and she told me nothing had been done yet and to call her later that day as she was not in the office. This morning she told me that I would not be getting reimbursed and that it wasn't her job to contact people when there is a problem with payments, because she has too many units to oversee.

i was there on a monday ! i have several units there and i'll tell you this place was not what the manger lady there told me. i was driving in to pick up items and the manger was not there during business hours. so , i came back a few hour later and she was gone . the next day was the same deal , she is never there. I wanted to get additional storage units , but i had to go to another storage facility . This place is dirty with no customer service .

This place is something weird ! People live there and don't move their car when you want to access your stuff . Don't rent here !
