I called in advance to see what the wait time was and their response was 10 min. I showed up only for them to tell me they are closed at 3:30pm . Non of that was mention during my call at all !

CIUC is pretty much a one stop shop for your healthcare needs. The best thing about them is that they are always taking walk-ins and the wait time is much less than it would be at the emergency room.

I have lived in Camarillo my whole life but I have never been to this office. I have been under the weather for over 2 weeks and needed to get to the bottom of it. So I thought an Ugent Care would be best. I had to bring my toddler with me, which worked out great. Staff was very polite and friendly and even gave my son stickers. The nurses, nurse practitioner, and Dr. Morin were really nice. I was a walk in patient and was in and out within 1 hour. Meds were called in right away! I ended up having a sinus infection. I highly recommend.

The Dr. is hardly ever there anymore and there is a constant, never ending rotation of fresh out of school nurses there running the place and "playing Doctor." Last week I was very sick so I called to see if the Dr. was in. He was so I went in. A nurse (who I've never seen before) came in, asked me a couple questions and said I had the same cold that was going around. I told her whatever I had was in no way a common cold but I didn't panic much cause I figured the Dr. would come in and check her work.... Nope, she was going to send me on my way so I had to ask for her to send the Dr. in. He came in, looked at her notes and said I had a bad cold and that everything "looked good". He never listened to my chest or looked in my mouth or even asked me his own questions. He told me to get some Mucinex and drink fluids. 2 days later I called back and told the receptionist something was really wrong and I wasn't getting better. The same nurse got on the phone (the Dr. was off that day) and told me to be patient and I would get better. The next day I went to take a shower and next thing I know I'm waking up on the floor. I had fainted. My daughter took me to the emergency room, and I had a severe case of pneumonia. I told the emergency room doctor that I had been to urgent care a few days prior and they told me I had a cold and the nurse said my lungs were clear and my throat looked fine. The ER doctor told me that not only were my lungs not clear, but they were severely congested and by the sound of how congested they were, and what my chest x-ray looked like that I had probably had pneumonia for a while. he also said my throat looked absolutely raw from all of the postnasal drip as well as the intense barking cough I had had for over two weeks before I even went into urgent care. So what I'm trying to say is, the owner of Channel Island, urgent care, Dr. Morin, prefers to work 2 1/2 days a week and have fresh out of school, unexperienced nurse practitioners, run his clinic at the detriment to his patients. If you think something is seriously wrong with you, please learn from me and go somewhere else. My untreated pneumonia has now caused permanent scarring on my lungs that will never recover. Because even if you call ahead to see if the doctors is, there, doesn't mean he will see you, and if he does see you, he may just spend 10 seconds reviewing the nurses notes and send you on your way. I thoroughly believe if Dr. Morin would have listened to my chest, I would not have ended up in the emergency room a few days later with a severe case of pneumonia. I went to channel Islands urgent care for help, was misdiagnosed by a nurse, the doctor didn't take the time to listen to my chest, or even ask me any questions which caused my pneumonia to wear my body down so much that I fainted and ended up in the emergency room. Pneumonia kills people. I am now frightened to ever return to that place.

Only wants your co-pay, only cares enough that you’ll come back.(to make another co-pay) Won't even tell you really should go to the ER, just wants the co-pay. Unless you don’t have insurance(even then you’re rolling the dice) GO TO ANOTHER DOCTORS OFFICE.

Pick a different urgent care. Waiting on results forever because there was an “issue” with the lab. Not communicative. Not a nice place. Go to one of the others within a couple miles

My husband took quite a tumble mountain biking that required some stitches. We originally went to a different Urgent Care only to be told there would be a two hour wait time, at the least. Nope, we’re going to Channel Island Urgent Care in Camarillo. They took him back right away, cleaned him up and gave him seven stitches to his elbow. From the front desk, nurse and fabulous doctor we will never go to another Urgent Care. ***If you ride any kind of bike please wear a helmet, his took a beating but his head was spared.

Staff genuinely cares about your health and they are efficient and quick in making sure you’re seen in a timely manner. I was greeted by multiple members of the health care team at this site to check on me. Dr. Morin is awesome and takes the time to listen and answer questions. Very friendly and kind team.

I was so frustrated with my own primary care facility being sick this week with severe sinus pain and congestion. I called CIUC this morning and they told me to come in after the lunch period. By the time I finished my paperwork I was called in. I have to say I was very impressed! Everyone was super kind and I felt like I mattered and they cared and I am grateful!

Love this place! I was looking for a place for a well woman visit that was non judgmental. I feel like a lot of gyno's nowadays are rushed and don't care about their patients. The receptionist made was very friendly right away and the doctor Allison was so warm and kind. I felt comfortable with her right away. I will be coming here from now on for all of my well woman needs.
