I've been coming here to get my smog check for a couple of years now. Never had the issue of returning and having to pay a second time. Until today when I went to go for my smog check and they want to charge me because my car didn't pass. They're going to charge me a second time when I show back up after I fix the problem. I would have never come here if I knew in advance that they were going to charge me a second time. Most places will allow you to come back the second time without charging. There are no prices for smog posted anywhere and there is no information for the smog check in the cashier area or the maintenance Bay.

This place has very high prices and owner justifies it by saying "this is my business and I can charge what I want". For Example: I have an older truck that needed to be smogged. For trucks 1995 and older you need to have an EVAP test and smog test done as well so it's a little more involved. Anyways he wanted to charge $128 for the smog and EVAP test I called around and found that most other smog places in Camarillo that do the same test and charge $70. They tried to charge $58 more for their service. Owner said it costs that much because it takes a lot longer and that today he was busy so I guess his prices fluctuate on how busy they are. Also, he has one mechanic juggling the whole shop that is well past his prime and they want to charge by time? I'm surprised this place is in business based on the way they conduct it! Read the other reviews left by customers... This place is out of control!

This review is not for the smog check services but for the actual gas station itself. I decided to leave a review after I found out that I looked forward to getting gas from this Arco Gas Station. Here's why I love this gas station: - brand new gas pumps - usually best prices on the street for gas (.35 cent debit card fee) but still worth it - always playing old school Frank Sinatra tunes, which makes the whole experience super relaxing to me. - no super loud and distracting TV monitors - they don't try and sell you a car wash. Keep in mind that the station is cash or debit card, they do not accept credit cards. It can get busy so that usually makes a trip to the gas station frustrating when all 8 pumps are being used, so I go at night to listen to some music and put gas in my car peacefully!

Would give 0 stars if I could. Came to get an oil change and the two little old guys that work there were the rudest people I have ever encountered! Talking to me like I was stupid, aggressive tone, I took my keys out of the ignition to hand them over to the man and he snapped "okay, now why are you taking the keys out, how am I supposed to drive your car up?" In a very rude/aggressive tone. I let him know that I was taking them out just to hand them to him, asked him to calm down and he swiped the keys from my hand. I TOOK MY BUSINESS ELSE WHERE AS I RECOMMEND EVERY DO. DO NOT STOP HERE. WORST SERVICE EVER! WILL NOT EVER COME BACK.

DO NOT DO GET A SMOG CHECK HERE. VERY FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY AND VERY HOSTILE MANAGER. My Daughter attends college in Camarillo. Considering I live out of town I asked her to price out smog checks to renew her tags. Stopping at Arco the manager handed her a paper to sign before he could provide her a quote. Then proceeded to tell her the smog would be 80.00. She called another place that told her 40.00. The man then stated okay 68.00 my daughter informed him no thank you the other place is 40.00. Then he told her she could not have her car unless she paid 80,00 because he already completed the smog check. All the while she was texting me back and forth from the time she arrived. Then my daughter called me as she went to step out to place her call as she was scared, the man was yelling very loudly at her. The man prevented her from exiting and poked her in the back telling her to go back in. I informed her call the police. I called and spoke with the manager who was hollering in the phone. I informed him what he was doing was not only fraud as he performed work when he knew she only wanted a quote. He stated she signed the paper therefore work gets done. I have no idea what she signed as she has never taken her even for an oil change herself. The police showed up the man then charged 30.00 as I just wanted her out of there and the police spoke with the man informing him touching a customer is illegal. Alot of respect that man had for a customer much less a woman. The man was warned however I suggest do not go to this company as they obviously are not a trustworthy company. Also I was informed from another Arco that this facility is a privately owned business. UNFORTUNATELY MY DAUGHTER DID NOT READ THE REVIEWS ON THIS ESTABLISHMENT. APPARENTLY HE IS KNOWN FOR THIS BEHAVIOR (CROOKED).

This is the worst auto repair shop I've ever been to! I should have looked at previous yelp reviews before committing! I will have spent over thousand dollars just to get a left front wheel bearing changed! Now I have to get the whole hub assembly replaced! I waited all all day and lost money with my work! I am so disappointed! This shop should never be in business!!

I got so ripped off here for a smog test. I had to pay $90.00 for a failed smog test. Bunch of criminals. After my car was fixed I paid $50.00 around the corner on Daily Drive.

I would like to share some bad review. I had to fix my AC. Turnout owner replaced refurbished compressor instead new for the high price. Very suspicious place, be aware.

Horrible station, don't go here! I went for a smog after seeing a coupon. The guy was so rude. They wouldn't honor the $29.99 deal, I had to pay $45 AFTER they had already done the smog and didn't bother to tell me. Super rude and shady looking! Stay away!

Got gas for 2 different cars, a week ago. Went inside, used two different cards, as debit. One card compromised within 2 days. Second card compromised 1 week later. ONLY USE CASH HERE!!! Can't trust inside or outside with your card.

Went to get my car smog and it failed ... the mechanic was nice and told me to come back in a few days since I just got my car fixed which turned off the check engine light so I had to drive my car around more. (But from reading reviews looks like they would have charged me more anyway) I told them I don't live in the area and I'm unfortunately on unemployment right now (by the way I had 4 interview this week so fingers crossed!) and asked if they could give me any kind of discount because they were charging me the full 60 dollars. The guy was so rude about it. I wasn't asking for a free service just a little help since I now have to go back home to SD and get it done all over again!
