My husband and I stayed at the Potter's Foothill House for 3 nights in March 2023 and were overwhelmed by the hospitality, the beautiful grounds, the delicious breakfasts and the stunning cottage complete with a full kitchen, dining table, sitting area, fireplace, sunken tub with a waterfall view - and yes, if needed, a washer & dryer. Yummy, homemade breakfasts were delivered at a time we selected - there was so much food we took leftovers with us when we explored Calistoga/Napa county. The bed & pillows were delightful! The B&B is very close to great wineries, less than 5 minutes to Tamber Bey & others, near a petrified forest, and less than 10 minutes to downtown Calistoga for a variety of one-off restaurants - delicious! Lynn is a phenomenal hostess - she is gracious, funny, full of wonderful suggestions of where to go, and her thoughtful treats she leaves in your room from flowers to chocolates are extra special! My husband and I will return to this wonderful place!!

I chose to spend my solo getaway at Potter's Foothill House in Calistoga for two nights. I was warmly greeted my Lynn. Lynn escorted me to the Castella Suite. When she opened the door, I felt like royalty. The Castella is lovingly and personally appointed by Lynn. All of my stress melted away when I heated my room with the wood-burning stove and lit the candles placed throughout the Castella. Lynn included bath bombs and Epsom salt. The Jacuzzi tub lit by candles was divine. Lynn and Gregg served a dinner that included Gregg's BBQ ribs. During dining hour, the selection of Napa Valley wines was heavenly. Lynn and Gregg are authentic kind souls. Before leaving, I booked another stay for my family.

Rooms: Our room (Palisades) was very nice and featured a dual sided gas fireplace between the bedroom and bathroom.Walkability: All of the rooms seemed accessible, but the palisades cottage is at the top of a short but steep, paved hill that may be challenging to some with mobility issues.Food & drinks: The breakfasts were delicious and delivered right on schedule.Noteworthy details: The owners make this place special with a lot of personal touches. We had a great time.

I had the pleasure of staying at this B&B for a birthday celebration this year. Lynn & Gregg made my stay very memorable(in a fabulous way). Not only was the breakfast outstanding but I got chocolates and flowers on my birthday. My room was fantastic. It was clean, comfortable and very well appointed. The private deck was very nice and I enjoyed the evenings sitting out there relaxing. The grounds are well kept and serene. I felt as though it was my very own oasis. I highly recommend this B&B to my friends and family and hope to stay here again. Thanks again for everything Lynn & Gregg!

We recently returned after our second stay at Potter’s Foothill House and it was fantastic AGAIN! The breakfasts are delicious and the hospitality is above and beyond wonderful. We always try to stay here when we are visiting. I recommend making reservations as soon as possible because they do fill quickly! Gregg & Lynn are fabulous hosts and always make us feel very special-THANK YOU!

Top notch Bed and Breakfast experience. Starting from the time we arrived we were greeted as family and felt like family the entire stay. The grounds are pristine and decorated with so much care and thought. The rooms are spacious and meticulously appointed. It is clear that Lynn and Gregg are extremely caring hosts and they have thought of everything. The daily breakfast delivered hot and were very impressive well presented and tasty. Can’t wait to return to Calistoga and we will absolutely stay here again. I would have given 10 stars if possible. Thank you Lynn and Gregg for a great experience.

We had a lovely stay at Lynn and Greg’s beautiful gem! The bed and rooms are so comfortable. The food is excellent. Lynn, Greg, and their daughter are super sweet people. I only wish that we could have stayed longer. Will definitely be coming back the next time we are in Napa. I’d recommend this beautiful stay to anyone.

Just finished the weekend there and loved every minute of it. Lynn and her staff were very nice, helpful and provided an excellent experience. The Castella room was wonderfully done and the breakfast's were easily our best meals of the weekend. Thank you Lynn and team for helping me give my wife a special weekend, hopefully we will see you all again some day!

My husband & I honeymooned here back in 1998 & had a WONDERFUL experience!! Our 25th anniversary is next year & I’ve been thinking about surprising him with another stay here for our special occasion. That being said, our daughter & I travelled here from Minnesota for a girls trip & I wanted to show her all of the special places that her Dad & I experienced, so we stopped by the Foothill House. It’s under new ownership, & we weren’t made to feel very welcome, I’m guessing since we didn’t have a current reservation. However, as a business owner myself, I was hoping to be treated nicer. I told the owners why we stopped by, & I was told I could’ve just saved myself some time by going online to check it out. Then when I asked if the cottage that we stayed in was available to see so I could show my daughter, I was sternly told “no” & that it’s their day off. I can understand if they didn’t want to show it & I can respect that people need a break, but there are nicer ways to go about it. Just because someone doesn’t have a current reservation doesn’t mean they won’t be making one for the near future. The experience made me feel like I should’ve just passed by & let our good memories remain with the former owners.

If we could give FH more than 5 stars we would. Lynn and Gregg are incredible hosts, they do not leave out any details, the bfasts are amazing, the room(castella) was top notch. The only downside to our stay was that we couldn't stay longer. We highly recommend the FH, it is exceptional.

The foothill house is a wonderful B and B. Greg and Lynda and very good hosts with a huge thank you to Lynda for the great, gluten free breakfasts!! There are several small things that keep this from 5 stars. The coffee maker in the Chatau needs replacing. It's just old and clunky to use. There is no bath in the Chatau, when the description on the web says there is. Some of the high end B and Bs leave homemade cookies or snacks in the room when you return from wine tasting. Greg and Lynda have opted instead for packaged cookies, which is fine but not 5 star to me.We do recommend foothill house but it's the little things that keep it from a 5 star experience.

We packed our bags for an overnighter without having made any reservations and headed to beautiful quaint Calistoga, hoping we'd get lucky and find a nice place to stay, and we did! It was so enjoyable chatting with Lynn, who greeted us at check-in. She and her husband, Gregg, were great hosts. Our room was unexpectedly very spacious, nicely furnished, and clean. There were sweet treats left throughout the room to enjoy, a Keurig coffeemaker for morning coffee, and a very nice bottle of bubbly, which we used for mimosas in the morning. The bed was oh-so comfortable. I really wanted to enjoy the jacuzzi tub. It was so tempting, but in light of the current drought situation, ending up skipping it. There is a heat switch in the bathroom. A nice touch when stepping out of the shower and into a cozy robe, they also provided. Breakfast was brought to our private back patio area, and every part of it was soooo delicious. We shouldn't have, but did finish it all. Then, we walked the outdoor garden area, and sat in the gazebo listening to the birds and the frogs.This place was so lovely as were the owners. It's also a very quick drive to the main area in town. More than we'd hoped for, and such a nice find.

My parents loved it, but visiting doggies need to stay home. I heard the bed was comfy, the gardens were beautiful and I missed out on all those great breakfasts my parents enjoyed!

Foothill House was a great long weekend B&B located about a mile from excellent Calistoga main street restaurants. We stayed in the Castella Room for three nights which has a large private patio deck and a private parking space. The room service breakfasts prepared by Lynn, the owner were "Bon Appetit" outstanding. Hot dishes, baked goods, yogurt parfaits, fresh juices were all served in a giant basket delivered each morning at the appointed time. The room amenities from champagne, chocolates, bevy of snacks, waters and more were a delightful touch.
