My husband and I stayed here recently and we loved it. Our cottage was very sweet - when we arrived, our loaner bikes were out front (sadly it was raining and we didn't get to use them) and we had a personalized postcard greeting us when we got inside the room. The king bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed having a fireplace. One thing we liked the most about staying here was that Calistoga is very charming and walkable. We enjoyed strolling through cute shops and eating pizza at the farmers market. We were in town for a wine-tasting event and Cottage Grove Inn was close enough for us to walk there. Our cottage felt very quiet and private - we will definitely stay there again.I didn't give the room a higher rating, because I think the rooms could use some updates. The bathroom needed a little TLC and the decor looked a bit tired. Our bed was very comfortable though and the room was cozy.Rooms: Outside our room was a small sitting area with a fountain. I enjoyed listening to the water feature even when we were inside the room. It was nice to be in a place where we could open the windows. The cottage also had a small porch with chairs and a table where we enjoyed lunch the day we arrived.I didn't give the room a higher rating, because I think the rooms could use some updates. The bathroom needed a little TLC and the decor looked a bit tired. Our bed was very comfortable though and the room was cozy.

If you are ADA this is not the place for you. They refused to acknowledge that my dog is a service dog. They insisted that you have to be, and I quote, "blind and/or in a wheelchair" to qualify to have a service dog. That the ADA laws were changed in 2023 for airlines and hotels and that you MUST have a physical disability, otherwise the dog is not a qualified "certified" service animal. They tried to charge our credit card an extra $200 for my service dog. We were traveling with 2 dogs, we had already paid for (in advance) 2 nights, $50 per night for the non service dog. The woman on the phone was frantic and accusatory and refused to have a conversation. She would just speak over me and not listen to anything I had to say. She insisted that I legally had to supply her with my medical information in writing and prove to her that my dog is my service animal, but that she knows I do not qualify because I wasn't blind or in a wheelchair. WTAF!!! They do not know nor will acknowledge the actual laws concerning ADA requirements. Yes, I have made a complaint with ADA themselves. Now for the actual cottage we stayed in. It is a quaint little place, that you can tell from the stained wood floors has been around for a long time. They have done their best to update the unit, but the bathroom sinks are slow draining, the toilet has to be flushed multiple times and the shower water pressure is so bad, that my shower took twice as long as my normal shower would take. I couldn't wash the shampoo or conditioner out of my hair easily. The jacuzzi tub has seen better days. I brought my own amenities, so I have no opinion on what is available there. TV cable wouldn't work. Do not depend on the tiny fridge, it was useless at keeping the cheeses we bought at Marin cold, so we went and bought a cooler and ice to make sure we could get them home in good condition. Make sure you use the eye masks provided, especially if you are light sensitive. You can not turn off your porch light, the curtains do not help and there are skylights. If that's not enough light in the cottage, they have an alarm clock with the brightest face in the world. So what was nice about this place? It's very well located, you can walk to downtown Calistoga and the grocery store is half a block away. It is very quiet and serene, and even when you sit on the porch, you feel privacy, Each cottage has its own parking spot. The bed and linens were very nice. The comfy oversized arm chairs by the fireplace were nice as well.We wanted to take pleasure in the morning coffee and pastries that everyone has written about, but they don't open the doors until 9am, the "pastries" were sliced breads, like walnut and lemon loaf, and were not appetizing. There, however, was a prominent tip basket, asking for tips. Since they were not open, we had already breakfast and coffee from the amazing Sam's across the street, thankfully since they open early. But after seeing the set up, we were so glad we didn't wait.If this review isn't clear, no I would never come back here. Just across the street are the cutest bungalows and Inns, that are convenient, more updated and know their ADA laws.

Charming place & location, but interior rooms are in severe need of major upgrades, including mattress, sitting chairs, light fixtures, bathroom and overall decor. I had this place saved for 12 years checking back here and there to make sure reviews were still solid before we finally could make the trip. Somehow the online reviews are not reflective of the conditions. It is my understanding it is under new ownership. We visited for 6 nights and did not sleep well at all. The bed was sagging on both sides, breakfast was cold pound cake next to a tip bowl and there was no evening wine & cheese. Full breakfast and the evening reception were big selling points in the value add of this place and we did not experience either. I want to be transparent with others regarding our experience so they can plan accordingly. We did share the feedback with the Inn, so I hope that they make the necessary changes for the next generation of visitors.

Very disappointing at $400+ a night for multiple nights. Stayed multiple times years prior with free full breakfast and wine & cheese in the evening. Now the breakfast is what looks like Costco mini muffins (which were cold), juice from concentrate and coffee. No more wine and cheese in the evening. Presumably as a cost saving measure, they no longer offer the coffee from the nearby coffee roaster. Coffee wasn’t as good as before. I was informed by staff that there’s a new owner (charges more but delivers much less). Good luck getting extra towels. Also the room was very tired and dated. It looked like it had not been decorated since the 1990’s. Frumpy faded and dated fabrics galore including a fabric covered headboard. Sink fixtures were worn out. I expected much better for $400 a night.

I had such a wonderful stay at this place. It’s exactly what I think Calistoga is! So many cool little touches at the hotel. Eye masks, candles, extra towels, parking right next to the room, coffee, etc. You can’t beat the location since it’s walkable near everything in town. There are spas around the hotel and some fun places to eat as well as multiple stores. In my opinion, this is way more fun than staying in Napa and Sonoma. Thank you Cottage Inn!

Lovely place to stay in Calistoga, especially in the hot summer. Huge trees around the property and fountains makes the porches great to chill. Staff is very accommodating. Only complaint is that the room AC is noisy.

What a darling and comfortable oasis. Really lovely grounds with birdfeeders and birdhouses abounding! Super clean and very comfy king bed. Walking distance to everything. The cottages have a quaint facade over all the modern conveniences and even supply a back pack for picnicking, purified water dispensary at the office, and in room yoga mat/soft roller. The jacuzzi tub had plenty of hot water, too! The only thing I missed was a microwave.

Very cute- perfect location. The staff was very nice! The beds and pillows were comfortable and the fireplace was fantastic. We stayed for two nights and also have a great place to keep clothes or toiletries. This place was just what I needed to rejuvenate. The room was so comfy and warm, and the bed was amazing. We have a great bed at home so I never expect any other place to be as comfortable, but this was. With the fire place going and sitting in the comfy chair, I read, napped, read some more - it was heavenly. It is within walking distance to downtown Calistoga so it was convenient. And the croissants in the morning - again that with their tasty coffee equals heaven! It was a little pricey for us but I would rather spend 3 days here than a week in an adequate place.

The cottages are adorable, well kept and exceeded our expectations. Everything was super clean and comfortable, service was top notch, from front desk to housekeeping. The Cottage Grove Inn is fantastic! We have stayed there a number of times, and did a full book for our wedding party on the weekend of the wedding. Kendall and Gia were helpful and responsive, and were happy to work with us to make sure that we could provide a number of special touches and accommodations for our guests. The cottages were amazing (as usual) with a big comfy bed, a fantastic jetted soaking tub, and cute indoor and outdoor spaces to relax. It was a perfect location to keep the wedding party conveniently close while giving everyone their own private oasis to relax! On top of that, we hosted our rehearsal dinner out in the driveway and it was the perfect space for it - intimate, shaded, green, and relaxed. Kendall and Gia were super helpful in planning and supporting us through the process!

My experience in Calistoga NOV 22 was magical. I swear everyone I encountered was hospitable and nice. Cottage Grove Inn was home base for a couple days and the accommodations were wonderful. The staff, the grounds, the individual private warm and comfortable cottage, the morning coffee/pastries, the one minute walk to breakfast and five minute walk to dwntwn made my experience pleasurable. We stayed in a cottage which had a two person tub, fireplace and comfy king size bed. Parking was in a small driveway adjacent to the cottage-much like home and a nice convenience. The closet was filled with an umbrella, picnic lunch backpack, blue tooth speaker, games and misc conveniences. Keurig coffee maker and fridge inside too. We went elsewhere (Golden Haven) for spa services as were none on site however staff offered to connect me with massage therapists who would come to the room. There’s no reason I’d go anywhere else while in Calistoga unless of course you all take my review seriously and booked all the cottages before I return. Please leave room for me. Cheers y’all

What a darling accommodation...there is a gas fireplace in each cottage, which was lovely to use on a cool autumn evening. We had our dog with us and the staff had placed a dog bed, bowls, treats and everything we needed in the room. It's also so quiet..just a great mini vacation!

The Cottage Grove Inn was a tremendous experience. From the customer service to the Cottage themselves, there’s absolutely nothing bad I can say!If you’re looking for a romantic getaway with peace and quiet while at the same time being in a great location, the Cottage Grove Inn is the pick. Located in Calistoga, CA, you are within walking distance of the downtown area with many stores, restaurants, and wine bars. The Cottages are all individual, so you have ample privacy throughout your stay. Each cottage features its own parking spot, jacuzzi, and fireplace with a cute deck with chairs to sit outside if you wish to. Breakfast and coffee are served in the main lobby with local pastries and jam. My wife and I traveled here with family, and we all walked away impressed and looking forward to returning.Thank you to the friendly staff who helped us during our stay, and I would highly recommend booking with the Cottage Grove Inn, which you won’t regret. Five stars!
