For our 20th Wedding Anniversary we stayed at Chateau de Vie, February 28th- March 3rd 2023We loved the convenience of a having keyless entry code to be able to come and go as we pleased. We were greater by Nelva, who was our host for our entire stay.We have stayed at other B&B before but never have we had this type of service. She was very attentive and friendly. She gave us lots of good advice of what to see and do in Calistoga. Her dinning advice were excellent choices! We were greated with a delicious meat and cheese plate and glass of wine every afternoon.Every morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast and fresh coffee made by Nelva. Her attention to detail was second to non.The Chateau De Vie was beautiful, with wonderful views of the Napa Valley. The rooms were clean and have beautiful views of the property. Our bathroom was clean but quiet small.I must say, we never really spend much time in our hotels or B&B. This was probably the first time we really took to the time to relax and enjoy our stay. Nella was a huge part of that. She is the best host!! Hope to see her again on our next stay!

My wife and I stayed at Chateau de Vie for a couple nights as part of our Napa honeymoon and absolutely enjoyed our stay. Ownership has recently changed and things seem to be going well. We arrived later in the evening to a note with our key on the table which we initially found out of the ordinary, but also very personalized and relaxed which reflected the rest of our stay. Shortly after we did meet our host Ari who made sure we had found our room and had everything we needed. The carriage house was perfect and had a wonderful view of the vineyard and mountains.

I selected Chateau de Vie as the location for my wife, Amy, and I to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary! One of the best moves I ever made. Our Concierge, Arie, was wonderful and made us feel immediately welcome and at home. The breakfasts we experienced we lovely and the recommendations for winery tastings and food services were excellent. Where the property is concerned, the only thing better than our comfortable room was the exquisite views of the mountains and the clear night sky full of stars. I highly recommend this property for a visit. It will be the only place I stay should I ever get to come back to Napa!

This place a hidden gem in Calistoga. Conveniently located a few minutes north of downtown Calistoga it is a perfect place where to sit back and relax after a day of wine ? tasting and sightseeing. The staff is extremely attentive and very respectful of your privacy. Wake up to an amazing homemade breakfast and a great cup of coffee. The swimming pool is perfect if you were to stay during the warmer months. Go into town pick up some cheese and bread and sit alongside the pool area. What else can I say about this hidden gem? The 5 star review ahould say it all.

Pros:1. Breakfast tastes amazing2. Beautiful Views3. Accommodating4. Clean/sanitary5. Gave good local recommendationsCons:1. The website is misleading (“A Full Freshly prepared Seasonal Breakfast served table service when YOU are ready to greet the world”). When we asked for breakfast at 7:30am instead of 9:00am, they said they could only give us a “light breakfast.”2. Breakfast at 9:00am is late3. Bed was hard, and our backs hurt through the stay4. The chef was arguing with the other owner loudly while we were having breakfast just outside the swinging kitchen door. It made breakfast awkward.5. Walls are thin, we could hear people talking at a normal tone in other rooms

A quaint and cozy Bed and Breakfast in the heart of Calistoga, surrounded by beautiful vineyards and picturesque mountains. In the morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast with incredible views prepared with love by Ariana and her team. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to meet Meeks, the cutest kitty alive. This place is a piece of heaven in wine country. You won’t regret it!

Updated review: The hotel called and explained they were having issues setting up their phone lines as they transitioned to the new ownership. Hopefully we'll get to stay there in the future!

I am seriously appalled at this bed and breakfast! I was so looking forward to staying here but I will not be. I took a look at the site and just had some general questions because it seems that a lot of B&Bs have changed things since the pandemic. For example many no longer serve breakfast but instead give you a voucher to a local restaurant. The evening wine is no longer offered or just a box of cheese and wine bottle. I called in to ask those questions and from the beginning the person who answered was extremely rude. I am assuming he is the owner as he he asked if I had visited the website. I said yes but that I just had some basic questions still. I tried asking about the breakfast and right away he said well its all on the site and didn't really give me a chance to ask my real question. And the he says well have you ever stayed at a bed n breakfast or in Napa Valley (which is so condescending) and I said yes many times in Napa but not Calistoga. He goes "well it's all the same. I am confused as to what you are asking". And then I tried to ask about the wine service in the evening and again he asked if I have ever been to a B&B. Which is so unbelievably rude. He didn't even let me speak before just staying it's all on the site and going on about how it's been done the same way for 25 years but different than other B&Bs (which is why I was asking). Then he had the audacity to say "well I am confused as to what you are asking, it's written in plain English". As soon as he said that I said "ok thanks" and hung up. Unbelievable! I have never had such a terrible experience like that before. I think he assumed I was an uneducated, not well traveled person. I have been to Jamaica, New York, Napa, Sonoma, Mexico and so many other US states and never been treated like that. So disappointed because I was deciding between this B&B and another and will not be staying here. And will definitely tell my friends and family to never stay here either.Thought I would add in I called two other B&Bs and both were fabulous and answered all of my questions. One even acknowledged that there is some misinformation about what they offer out in social media or other booking sites. What they used to offer pre-pandemic has changed but not all sites reflect that. Each one does things slightly different but both sound like great options. Will definitely recommend them.

We made reservations a month plus in advance and on the date of arrival to CA we had a voice mail saying our reservation had been canceled. No attempt to help us find a place to stay knowing how difficult it would be to find accommodations last minute. One star because this is unacceptable and unprofessional. If you want to be left without a place to stay last minute and no help at accommodations then sure give it a try.

Location, location, location. We loved not driving very far to get to the wineries we wanted to go to. I cannot recommend this place enough. I am always afraid of air b&bs because I don't want that awkward family style dining experience with strangers. That doesn't happen here. You dine on the spacious patio at your own table where you can speak to people or not. Felipe is a gem and a fantastic chef. Our room was spotless which is very important. This property is very private and quiet. Be sure to leave some down time just to explore and enjoy it on its own. Stay here and forget all your cares!

The carriage house was exactly what we hoped for. Relaxing, peaceful and private. It’s also very comfortable. The bed and pillows are 5 stars for comfort. We slept soundly each night. Coffee was at our door every morning by 7am. The first morning was cool enough to light the fireplace while we enjoyed our coffee and watched the sunrise. Breakfast each morning was perfectly prepared with the freshest ingredients. They were the best meals we had during our stay. Late afternoons we enjoyed a cheese and fruit plate on the private patio with a glass of wine. The Chateau de Vie wine was amazing. We had the 2014 Cabernet. Peter and Phillipe the perfect hosts. The town of Castiloga is quaint with nice shops and plenty of good restaurants. Parking was never an issue and the public restrooms were clean and conveniently located.

We stayed at Chateau de Vie for two nights and are so glad we did. The location was beautiful, the hosts were friendly and helpful, the breakfasts and snacks were delicious. It was incredibly relaxing. Their wine was excellent. We would definitely stay here anytime we are in the area and highly recommend it to others.
