I moved to Calistoga in January of this year and needed a veterinarian for my two dogs. One is a small fifteen year old rescue Chihuahua who is almost fifteen with congestive heart failure, arthritis, seizures, and teeth issues. The care she was receiving previously in another state was less than adequate. I thought I was going to lose her several times and I was praying we would find a better vet who could help stabilize her. Calistoga Pet Clinic was the answer to my prayers. Typically my experience with veterinarians is that you either get a good vet, or good office and support staff like techs, receptionists, etc. In all the years I’ve had my dog, I’ve never found a practice with both until now. Dr. Franquelin immediately diagnosed both my dogs with new conditions other vets had never found, with a plan to address them. My dog’s condition has improved tremendously since my dog has been in his care, to the point that I’m shocked this is the same dog from a year ago. She acts like she’s three again. Dr. Franquelin is a fantastic vet, and he is never condescending when he explains conditions and treatments to those of us without a medical background, which I appreciate. Every single one of the staff I’ve interacted with has been amazing. Special shout out to Kayla who has gone above and beyond to help with all my pet’s Trupanion insurance, which is especially important to me because care for an elderly, sick dog is incredibly expensive. They are truly just the most amazing practice across the board and you will not be disappointed with their care. I am eternally grateful to have found them.

Dr. Franquelin and his staff are professional, caring, knowledgeable and up beat. Their communication is amazing, with follow up emails after each appointment. Dr. Franquelin, in a very short period of analysis knew what my beautiful white Sheppard's 'issues' were and are in treatment. In a very short period of time, after two years of suffering was better. I was told from my prior vet in St. Helena that there was nothing he could do for her. The surgery he performed was not necessary. I am not upset but rather grateful that my pets are now a part of the Calistoga pet clinic. It is easy to see they are in competent hands, they care and love their job.

An excellent Veterinarian. We went there on recommendation from a friend for a surgical consult, even though we live in Santa Rosa.From the time you pull into the parking lot to a “home” warm layout to the staff that made us feel comfortable with our KonaGirl.The surgeon was extremely thorough in his review of Kona and the steps that we BOTH must take to be successful in this under taking.Enough said for now, but we have selected them to do her surgery and feel like we are in good hands.

I called to have an appointment scheduled on Friday for my pet. A very important appointment to help my dog recover. But they called me not until Tuesday and said they needed to cancel my dogs appointment and wouldn’t be able to service my dog for another two weeks. Disappointing.

Extremely professional and very clean! Very happy with caring staff. Took ti.e with my dog and made him comfortable! The most comfortable he's been at any vet! Highly recommend!

I only had the opportunity to know Dr. Franqelin for 6 months before our JJ passed. I wish I would have found him sooner. JJ was 15 and the last six months of his life Dr. Franqelin cared for him. He and his staff are very caring and supportive and helped us through our difficult time. We found out that JJ had lymphoma a short time before he passed and the staff did everything they could to save our little guy. I would recommend this clinic highly for someone that wants the best for their pet. If I ever get another dog I will definitely be back.

The vet tech and vet were nice and seemed very knowledgeable upon our initial visit but the lack of communication and follow through after the appointment was very disappointing. I just moved to Calistoga from San Francisco and my middle aged dog needed a much needed dental cleaning and extractions were likely. We had the pre-op blood work done as recommended and received the results the next day via email. I had a question regarding one of the levels and sent two emails and also called and left a message asking to speak with the vet about my concerns but never received a response. I had high hopes for this vet and really wanted things to work out since the office is only a 7 minute drive from my house. So disheartened that I'm going to have to find another vet up here further from home to take care of my little man.

Dr. Franquelin and his staff are the best! They are always able to fit you in, and the techs handle my former feral cats with the utmost care and knowledge. Pricing is reasonable compared to most other vets in the Valley, making it well worth the drive from Napa.

To be completely honest at first I thought this clinic was going to give me good service!!! But NO wayyyy to EXPENSIVE treatments don’t even work!!!! Claudia a worker there Is very rude don’t know why or how she’s still working there after reading bad reviews about her and the place!!!

After consulting with the doctor and following the treatment to the letter, my cat's health worsened, it was not possible to schedule another follow-up appointment, they did not receive my calls. we had to see another doctor to save my pet's life. What is good is the attention and friendliness of the receptionists, they are great people.

Dr. Franquelin, Claudia and staff are so wonderful! Dr. Franquelin is warm and compassionate, and staff has their COVID routine down to a science. There are large signs out front that explain what to do when you get to the office. I was hesitant about coming in and visiting in a small room with my pet; a room that someone else may had been in earlier, but was happy to see that the staff came out to pick up my pet for the visit. The staff here is always friendly, courteous and empathetic. -Sushi's mom

Love this place!!!! They are such nice people and they really care about your pet. Reasonable in prices and they will work with you, if you have a big bill. We changed from our regular vet to Calistoga Veterinarian because they are so much better!!
