TA Travel Center in Buttonwillow on I-5 at Exit 257 is a great place to stop for fuel and food. It offers Shell gas or diesel 24/7, with Subway and Taco Bell for fast food. The facility is clean inside and out, and the travel store stocks grab-and-go meals, snacks, drinks, water, and energy bars. Professional truck drivers are invited to use the 170 overnight parking spaces, driver’s lounge, CAT scale, and TA Truck Service for maintenance and repairs, which is noted for being professional, courteous, and quick. Shower and laundry facilities are available, with generally positive experiences, though a shower head may occasionally need attention. Customer service is frequently described as very friendly, professional, pleasant, and helpful, with staff expediting service and accommodating requests. The trucker’s lounge is a nice, quiet space. Some minor issues noted include a sometimes horrible parking lot smell and occasional confusion if an entrance door is locked without proper signage. Overall, it provides a welcoming vibe for a quick and refreshing stop on the road.
This is one of my favorite pit stops traveling from NorCal to SoCal. Bathrooms are clean and have a good variety of restaurants. Perfect place to relax and stretch out on a long road trip
