My Audi Q7 had issue as the air wouldn’t flow for defrosting the windshield. I brought my car to the Audi dealer and learned that this issue was not covered by warranty and quoted for nearly $2000 dollar to fix the issue. As the dealer wasn’t explained the issue to me very clearly and the communication seems not transparent, I decided not to repair at the dealer. The dealer charged $300 dollar for diagnosis fee. I called around the local shops. Luckily, I found Lou’s auto repair Burlingame.
I absolutely was astonished by Luis’ professionalism and honesty. He told me the details about which part had issue. Luis personally went to the Audi dealer to find the part for my car, unfortunately the part that dealer offered was not compatible with my car. Luis found a temporary fix for the issue (now the AC flow works). Luis stated that we need to find the correct part to fix the issue until then he wouldn’t charge me anything. Luis’ team had already spent several hours on my car to find out the issue and tried to fix the issue. For a person like me, who knows nothing about car mechanics, Luis could easily charge me one/two thousands, I wouldn’t even know.
Luis will absolutely be my go-to guy for anything related to my car. I highly recommend lou’s auto repair to anyone in need of reliable and trustworthy auto repair service.

It's difficult to find a mechanic who is honest and wants to ensure that what you're getting replaced is what you really want, vs trying to tag on many other things and charge you as much as possible. I love that. New to the area, and away from family, so with car troubles for a girl it can be kinda scary out there and very grateful for them!! Highly recommend!

I have a 2001 Toyota forerunner. My sunroof was not working. The drain plugs or holes were clogged. I called several shops in San Francisco where I live. None could help. My own shop where I take the car in San Francisco would not touch the sunroof. Louis fixed it. No problem; I'm going to take my car here. Getting to downtown San Francisco where I work was a breeze: from the shop a quick shuttle to the BART station and I was in the office in no time.

As a woman, I am used to automotive staff either talking down to me or actively trying to cheat me. I'm always on the defensive when I take a car in. Lou and his guys give an honest estimate, are transparent about charges, don't act offended if you question something, are clear about when parts can be delivered, don't claim parts are worn out when they've still got life in them, tell you when to come back to get something checked, do the work well the first time they try, and are courteous and professional for every part of the interaction. Lou's Auto Repair is the holy grail of auto repair.

Lou's Auto Repair is the Best in the Bay Area! I have dealt with a few different shops on the Peninsula due to having a Cadillac CTS with alot of issues. Lou's Auto Repair is very honest, reliable, friendly and really knows cars! I will forever be grateful for this 5 star auto repair shop for squeezing me in last minute due to a back window not rolling up. He is affordable and does great work! I am so thankful to have found Lou's. Highly recommended.

Notice a rear tire leak after parking the car.Called all the nearby Burlingame tire leak places as I live very close. People were either unfriendly, didn't pick up, or said the wait would be anywhere from 1-4 hours.Lou's repair told me to drop by and said they could work on it immediately. I am 10 mins, got there, and he patched and plugged the leaking tire without any wait. Might have been a lucky day since their work was not piled up bbut Lou's experiences was friendly, affordable, and straightforward.

Lou has been our family's mechanic for several years now, and he never disappoints. Explains everything to you thoroughly and provides quality service. The bad reviews on here have clearly never experienced a quality mechanic and prefer the cheaper option. But cheap doesn't always mean quality service. You need a mechanic like him in your life. His prices reflect his work and knowledge of vehicles, period.

Lou's did a good job diagnosing the problem with my suspension and repaired it in a timely manner. Clear communication and transparency throughout. The labor fee is on the high side - $195 per hour, but it's not much more than avg, and this shop is honest.

I used Lou's when he first moved to Burlingame and my car dashboard lights started flipping out. Prior to Lou's, I was the person who went to the dealership service department to get things done. With Lou, he tells it as it is. No fluff. And of course, looking out for your safety when driving on the road. I did two oil changes with him that was almost a drop in kind of scenario. He was able to accommodate and gave a reasonable time frame for completion. During my most recent oil change, he tested the car battery and said it's on the border line of good and poor. He didn't have that type of battery in stock, but he called his car battery guy and made it happen. He's helped out some friends of mine by jump starting their cars and unlocking the car with locked keys in the car. Genuine guy. Honestly, he's one who is hands on with the maintenance and repair with his team member.
