Came to Chilton for an insurance estimate. All we needed to know was that the cost of repair would be above $3,500 which was the max insurance payout. They did $700 worth of work drastically disassembling and reassembling the car, which was way more than they needed to do. I signed papers at the beginning that said the max amount of work would be done $500 but apparently that didn’t include that the car would be assembled. Once I pushed them on it and called them numerous times, they got the cost covered by insurance, which could have been done from the beginning. The whole process took two weeks. Just for an insurance estimate. Poor communication overall as well.

HORRIBLE customer service, avoid at all costs. They will do the bare minimum, avoid communicating, and won't finish the job. This business clearly doesn't care about actually helping people.
Subaru was brought here after being backed into, they did the body work and when we got it back the AC didn't work. They told us "We can't recharge the AC because we don't have the equipment. Also we didn't touch the AC, since it's not our fault it's not our problem. Get it fixed at the last body shop you went to. This is clearly their fault"
This is impossible that they "didn't touch it" because the area of bodywork done surrounds the AC, so they absolutely broke it. Also, it's standard practice to work with a network of mechanics that HAVE the equipment, It could have easily been sent to another place by them, so that's not a real excuse. (For background, AC was fixed previously over a year ago by another body shop 40+ miles away.) This was for a previous insurance claim, and not applicable.
When confronted on the phone, I asked them to please help, they continued to blame the other shop, and say "they did shoddy work" (always a good sign when you have to put everyone else down to "look good"), then I get the most rude and condescending dressing down from their manager about how "I'm ignoring the facts of the situation"
The facts are: we brought you a broken car, you refused to fix it.
Now I understand it MIGHT be under warranty from the old place, because they have good customer service. So pretending that they didn't break the AC I could understand their perspective and protocol. That doesn't change the fact that this place was rude and demeaning and refused to be of any help. I would have been happy if they gave ANY options besides "not my problem". Hell, tell us to call insurance. Or better, they could tell me what mechanics they work with that CAN recharge it, or give me a number so we can get a quote if we end up having to pay out of pocket. Instead they were snide, rude, and wanted to point fingers instead of solve problems. The AC likely just needs to be recharged, there's no need to be so hostile and rude.

People optic staff very friendly and helpful, clear about pricing scheduling. This is my second use of this location and each time was a very positive experience and the workmanship was high quality
