Come into the store and was made to feel like I didn't belong. I am new to model railroading and had a lot of questions, but the two gentlemen working there didn't seem to have the time to even look at me besides help me. I left feeling like my business wasn't needed or wanted. I will stick to Whistle Stop in Pasadena, and online stores before returning to this shop.

Incredible expertise, knowledge and service. I took my late grandfather's 1946 American Flyer set that hadn't run in 30 years here. From the second I put the box on the counter the woman helping me knew exactly what I had brought in. She was honest about how long the repair would take (about 6 weeks) but was confident that they could repair it. The model was finished ahead of schedule, though a wheel broke after running it a bit. I brought it back in and they replaced the wheel (which was not part of the original servicing) free of charge. Today this nearly 80 year old model train, a priceless memory of my grandfather, runs perfectly whereas it barely moved before. Since then I have made many purchases of equipment in HO, O and S. The knowledge base here is second to none, and they have always been upfront and honest. One time I came in and the man helping me realized before I did that he accidentally overcharged me a little bit last time and volunteered to credit it back to me. Mistakes are human, but I love that kind of integrity. You can find model trains cheaper online, but the level of expertise and customer service at Train Shack means that I can rely on them to help me solve problems and not just add to my collection but make my existing collection even better. They have a lifetime customer with me.

So, here's the scoop on Train Shack, where kiddo's model train dreams come true: the displays are jaw-dropping, and they've got everything, even BRIO sets for the little engineers. Todd, Mindy, and the crew make it feel like you're part of the locomotive family. It's not just a store; it's where family memories get on track. Whether you're a rookie or a seasoned collector, Train Shack is the real deal. Thanks, Train Shack, for being one of our favorite places for family adventures!

The Train Shack brings a sense of Nostalgia and a reminder of the amazing craftsmanship of the good ole days, highly detailed toy trains, models and landscapes that are truly amazing. This shop has everything for the Toy train collectors and enthusiast, in a world where throw away toys are a dime a dozen - it is so refreshing to see that they are flourishing. Train Shack has an extensive inventory of beautifully crafted toy trains, parts and accessories to complete your own setup. Although they are not cheap but these pieces are considered heirloom toys you could pass on to your kids and then to their kids and to their very own little ones. The staff here are very knowledgeable and helpful, they don't just point you to where the items you need are but they graciously go with you and talk to you about your train or what you are trying to accomplish or setup with your own train set - I like that as they could give you pertinent information on how to make your setup much better! I highly recommend them if you are looking for a new train set for your Christmas tree, for your garden setup or simply for your own collection. Great peeps! Awesome stuff! Choo! Choo!

Best model train store in LA County Socal Excellent service; friendly and knowledgable staff. Owner and manager Mindy and Todd were helpful on train orders. Items were incredible: but pricey. If you're fascinated with trains, this is the location to visit; parking was easy in the back door. Would return here sometime around when I'm in Los Angeles

Great Train store! This is probably the best little hidden gem in Southern California for model trains. The selection is wide and expansive. The owner and employees are very polite and knowledgeable. I will definitely be returning for my layouts needs!

This store is excellent! They have a wonderful staff, and it has fantastic train layouts with an impressive train selection for all ages. The prices are comparable to what you find online, so buy local and do the right thing!

What an amazing place!! I went to go fix a Thomas Train that my son had which stopped working. Because it’s a model that they no longer sell, I was willing to spend whatever it takes to fix it. The guys down at the store took their time to actually figure out what was wrong with it and didn’t even charge for labor (which they are supposed to). Never been to a store that was so welcoming and friendly. Todd and the other gentleman (forget his name), was absolutely wonderful and great to converse with. They turned on all three tracks for my little one so he could see and play. Ended up buying a Brio engine from there which my son loves and so then I had to buy some tracks as well and now my son’s into trains!

The people here are super helpful. I started getting into miniature scale electronics for D&D and tabletop games and they were great at answering my questions and giving me advice. They've got a good selection of new and used items in various scales.

I bought a Lionel train set and the smoker stopped working the next day. I called the store and Todd replaced it with a brand new one with no questions asked. Jeff was helpful and took his time showing my family and I different trains. Always support Small Businesses in America if you can!
